    2 things to concider: 1) work in an 8 bpc project (bottom project panel) 2) don't use the effect 'Fill' on the solid, just use a white solid (fill is a 32 bpc effect and shatter a 8 bpc) that's the way it worked for me.

    Oh wow. I've always done the slow motion shatter effect by making a shatter and time remapping a pre-comp of it to be slower. Didn't realize it had a built in setting for that with viscosity. Thanks!

    The remaining edge looks a little to clean and «digital». Perhaps one could apply the roughen edges effects to the solid layer? Or would you guys recommend another way to get the break off edge more organic?

    • @TutoView
      @TutoView  Рік тому +31

      hello. Currently, only white Fill is applied to the mask layer, but if you add a Turbulent Displace effect to it and change the options (eg Amount:10, Size:23, Complexity:10), you can express rough edges.

      @@DRS659 haha! That sounds about right. And seems reasonable as a suggestion in a perfect world where we had more time to learn a new program from the buttom up. For now the amount of client work keeps us locked into what we know well, which is Adobe.

      @@marikenogmartinmedia ok cool, I worked in FX for years using adobe, nova, blender, houdini etc.
      if your clients are satisfied then do you, but I taught myself how to use everything from youtube tutorials and worked on things from BMW adds to james cameron productions. With AE you are going to want to migrate to apps that produce better results to stay relevant in this industry before high school kids can download a free app and produce identical results with 2 clicks in 3 seconds and you are forced to compete in an over saturated market for peanuts......just something to keep in mind
