Oh yes! There was so much yarn and everyone was so friendly! Their store has a lot of unusual things and your shawl was beautiful, the parking is hard to find, but it is in old town Alexandria so the shop is in an old home. Plan on going again. The tents were in the parking spaces along side of the building and each type of yarn in a different tent, only three people per tent. So hard to decide what to buy!
Just bought it lovely pattern. Addicted to you work and patterns. Love these. Thanks for you hard work. Your patterns are very good. They work. Can’t tell you how many peoples don’t even when they are supposedly tested they don’t work. Ive not had that issue with yours in books or Ravelry they always are clearly written and love when you do release videos. lol 😆
Thank you so much. It is wonderful to hear that the patterns work LOL! I sweat bullets over trying to make sure everything is right. I don't always get it perfect but luckily I can fix the PDF and send out corrections if something slips through the cracks.
Love love love these Shawls. Beautifully done Barbara!! Texture and waves!!! Stunning. I'll have to put that in my cue and hopefully it will show its face on Flock Around the Table.
At first, I thought, ooo, I want the blue yarn, because blue's one of my favorite colors, then you showed the other in moss and devoted idea and I really like that. Kudos on another great pattern!
It is great to hear that both appeal to you. I was lucky to have one of the Babs ladies knit the second sample - I love being able to see how different color choices effect the appearance.
Beautiful! Opportunity (the large shawl?) colorway matches your T-shirt 😄. I am so glad you showed the lace section. I hadn’t seen that. Ooooh. KC too. Thanks again!
Beautiful pattern. I love the color combination on the Keira version. So cool how you can look at rover tracks and the Martian landscape and design a shawl pattern from that. Very imaginative :)
These are beautiful! I am thinking I might be able to do this. I have knit for ages, I tend to make things up as I go. Not great at reading patterns. I don’t write things down so I forget where I am at. I am clueless at charting. I may look twice at this.
WatchBarbaraKnit : I think it could work with perhaps russet? Or perhaps dark fury or corset? It is so hard when you can’t actually put the skeins next to each other! Thanks!
Love the new shawls! I’m curious if you do special editing for the knit companion. I use the free version and can import any pdf and use the row and stitch markers.
So I am not 100% sure how the whole KnitCompanion thing works free vs paid version. I know that when I say it is available through them it means from their pattern store. In their pattern store they sell pattern PDFs that have been pre-set up with markers and all the bells & whistles. Apparently some of the KnitCompanion users would prefer to have someone else do the importing and setting up of the PDF. I don't know if that is only for the paid version or if it works with the free. That would be a question for them.
Behind you at the beginning of your program white and blue what is the name of that shawl. And at the end of this program another light blues but a different shawl. I got the answer on the first shawl. I believe it was Spirit.
There is only one actual shawl in this video and it is called Spirit and Opportunity. There are two different versions, the blue one is in fingering weight and the green one is sport weight. A link to the pattern can be found in the description notes below the video.
Lovely pattern as usual. Hope the event went well and, of course, your pattern was the 'Star'. Will the blue yarn be available to purchase else where? xxJane
Its kind of funny. When the video started I saw the shawl and was wishing I could get a closer look at it. I LOVE the colors of the smaller one. Will the special colorway ever be available in other places, or only at Fiber Space? Any chance you will do another class on Mosaic? I could not make the last one and would really like to take a class. Thanks Barbara, another beautiful shawl! Time to start saving my pennies.😻
We will most likely have another Mosaic class later in the Fall! The best way to hear about them would be to sign up for the A Good Yarn newsletter. I do not know about the availability of the exclusive color-way, I wasn't part of that discussion.
It depends entirely on your skill set. It includes slip stitch colorwork (which is an easy form of colorwork) combined with relatively easy lace. But if you’re not comfortable with one or both of these techniques it could be challenging.
I love this shawl. Both colors are awesome.
Thank you so much!
Wonderful shawls. I enjoyed the story of the inspiration photos.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful Shawls! And I love the stories behind them. Or in any projects people make. I think it adds a lot more to the items. Thanks for sharing!
I am so glad you enjoyed the video.

I LOVE Fibre Space! Such a cute shop, great selection and super nice people. Can’t wait to get back there again. Awesome pattern, Barbara!
One day I will get there! Thank you so much!
Wow these are just lovely. All of your shawl patterns are gorgeous!
Rachel S.
Thank you so much!
I love the moss and pink combination, it truly showcases the wave pattern.
Thank you! I really like that you can see this one in two different color combos because they definitely have two different looks.
I am not crazy about shawls but this one, I have got to knit. Absolutely beautiful
That is wonderful to hear!
I love the explanation that inspired this shawl
I am so glad!

OMG Barbara both shawls are gorgeous love the textures and what they represent 🪐🚀 I too love all things Space so fascinating 🛰🌌
Thank you!

I would love to see it play with y'all!

Oooh, and right to the top of my Ravelry queue! 🙌😍
Yay I'm winning! ;)
Such an incredible Fiber Artist!!! I love the Kira yarn just so beautiful 😍
This was my first time working with it and I am definitely smitten. It is wonderful to knit with.
WatchBarbaraKnit it’s an outstanding piece 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️🌹❣️
WatchBarbaraKnit I also bought the pattern the other day! Gorgeous 😌❣️

Lovely, as always! Thank you for sharing...🤗🥰

Great patterns😍!
Thank you!

I am so glad you like it. Sometimes my brain works in weird ways LOL!
@@WatchBarbaraKnit If it comes up with ideas like that, Weird Brain Rock On!! lol..
The folks at fiber space say hi, and sorry you couldn’t be there too!
I so wish I could have been there. Thanks for saying HI! Did you have fun?
I like the moss and pink combination it show the pattern better
I am so glad you like the combo. I thought I was being a bit risky in picking them.

There are charts but there are also written out instructions so you can use either! Happy knitting!
Gorgeous! Now I need to find another skein of Keira to go with my Chinese Foxnut. We need a KAL! 💜🙏🏼💐💥
As we discussed, that one might be a bit too variegated for this. But you can try!

I honestly don't know about the blue yarn. You could check with Miss Babs or even call the store and see if they will ship it to you?
I going to fiber space and the Miss Babs tent show today
I'm so jealous! Tell them you saw this on Watch Barbara Knit? It would be fun for them to know.
WatchBarbaraKnit I sure will!

@@WatchBarbaraKnit thanks. And thanks for the pattern discount!
would this pattern be easy or hard to knit??

How do you just get the pattern without having to listen to all this?
