- The Road Is Our Home: NC500 - In our cosy van conversion we headed to northern Scotland and went on a winter road trip around the legendary North Coast 500 (aka NC500).
However, our timing wasn't that great, as it was winter and storm Eric was heading in our direction with no sign of letting up.
We spent nine days driving our van conversion around the some of the most incredible roads we've ever seen. Starting at Inverness and making our way, anti-clockwise, around the absolutely stunning scenery that northern Scotland has to offer.

Stunning that guys. We're doing half the NC500 - I guess the NC250! 😅 - in September as part of a Scotland roadtrip. I love that you did your trip in winter. It gives it its own breathtaking beauty that you don't see in the usual NC500 summer vids. Great job 👍
We really enjoyed it in the winter, the only downside was the short days. But it was worth it to not be continuously attacked by midges 😄 hope you guys enjoy your nc250 trip! 👍🏼
We did the NC500 plus a few side trips two weeks ago. Fabulous trip, great country and people. From home on the South Coast and back again - just under 2000 miles.
It truly is a beautiful place and yeah totally agree, everyone we met was super welcoming.
Definitely planning to go back at some point. 👍🏼

I wouldn’t mind doing that route and getting the ferry across to Orkney for a few days while I’m up there.
06:24 .. Simply stunning .. " its cold, its windy and its wet .. very Scotlandy .. utterly poetic, love it :) While it was a bit colder, you were wise, doing the NC500 early season means its much more quiet, you have many parts to yourself. I was heading to work this morning in Inverness at 06:15 and stopped to give way to a motorbike at a roundabout, I kid you not, I was there for about 5 minutes as 50+ German registered bikes driven by old blokes in beards were hearing north.
Haha I bet that was a sight to see. I imagine you get to see quite a variety of vehicles!

Great video of parts of Scotland which the majority of Scots have never seen.
I was hoping your filming would include Achmelvich beach and caravan/camping area on the north west coast, but alas, you never went there.
Make it a destination to visit someday - you'll always be glad you did!
Thanks. We did actually visit Achmelvich but unfortunately the weather was terrible and we didn’t manage to get any useable footage. Absolutely beautiful place and we’ll be sure to get some better footage in the summer. 👍🏼
