You know you're having an impact when I'm watching this while working on my own Understanding Australian Civilisation script. Currently going on about Australias Tall Poppy Syndrome.
"Philadelphia is woke" is a good place to start an examination of woke. Philadelphia is an old Democratic Machine Politics, Trade Union dominated East Coast City which was formerly constituted of ethnically segregated neighborhoods. It used to be said that you could be a right wing Democrat or a left wing Democrat in Philadelphia. Being a Republican probably meant that you'd not get the full measure of municipal services and would have no shot at government jobs for you or your kids, etc. Gentrification and re-urbanization in the 2000s drew lots of college credentialed young people into Philadelphia, which was more affordable than New York or DC. If you have any experience of Philadelphia today, "woke" is a class phenomenon - it's held among the gentrifiers who are mainly white suburban kids who had their brains scrambled in college. The non-woke are intergenerational residents of the remaining blue collar, lower middle class white neighborhoods. They are often in conflict in intra-Democratic Party matters.
Native North Americans vs South Americans vs Africans has a history to it as to why some were used as slaves and some weren't. 700 Spanish dudes, (mostly unmarried young men) conquered South America quickly. It makes sense that they felt superior. Some had children with natives anyway. That led to births of people they put in different castes. Europeans weren't enslaving each other anymore by this time, so the Spanish didn't enslave the locals as much after having children with some and converting them to Catholicism (largely because of the influence of the Pope/church). Also because they Spanish guys that "settled for less" by mating with local natives still had influence and didn't want their children part of a slave class. They could afford this mentality because the Spanish could still get slaves even if they stopped using the population of South America to do it. "Superior" white people of Portugal/Spain also colonized many parts of Africa and brought in African Slaves (most of which were traded to them by the Africans that had enslaved them). Since white Europeans naturally weren't attracted to Africans (It took 10,000+ years of evolution for people to evolve from black to white and it could only happen and continue if white people didn't mate with black people, which evidently was usually the case, otherwise there wouldn't be millions and millions of white people) the Spanish didn't really mate with them and thus, no half/half children, and so the Spanish had people to use as slaves. Never mind some other accounts of Europeans encountering black sub Saharan Africans like when a few Romans saw a black African and instinctively moved to protect the European woman they were with.
When wokeness collapses California and big corporations either go bankrupt or just drop the ideology altogether, the majority will realize it’s the incorrect ideology for progress and only the extremists will remain. Depending if the extremism has large numbers will determine whether there is civil conflict but most likely I think they will be social pariahs and we just need to teach our kids and reinforce what leftism did, does and what to watch out for
I really appreciate having David on this program. It’s nice having someone old enough to have seen what we haven’t and why his generation did what they did. There is a reason Lauren Southern pointed out that there is a lot of similarities between the Red Pill and the Hippies. Both are fighting wrongs, but have different formative experiences.
22:16. I also question this idea. I do not believe that "left-wing" beliefs are connected to Gnosticism. Yet as the old saying goes, "There is nothing new under the sun."
If you’re curious look at the state by state recruitment. Red states aren’t the key. The south is. Virginia still does high per capita recruiting despite being blue.
I dunno if the entire school system can be considered hijacked by leftists. Where I grew up in rural Indiana, my local relatively impoverished public high school was very pro-trump. There was a trump flag outside on someone's flagpole that you saw every day before arriving to school on the bus. The closest I could see of 'leftism' in school was our history teacher simply acknowledging that critical race theory exists, and then moving on. So certainly, especially moving on into college, can I see the argument for the education system being more left-wing, just perhaps not universally so, especially at the high school level.
The discussion dynamic here is a bit off - Richard didn't get much airtime for a guest, and angry man caricature butting in every few seconds didn't help. I would've summarised his book better and gone into the content more.
At the end of the crisis, no one besides the "inner imperial council" will keep the privilege to vote and those votes will never be publicized. No women will ever be on the council.
Oh my gawd!!! Sorry, not sorry… I absolutely LOVE listening to hot nerds talk about relevant topics. You both are so freakin’ cute and smart. This is literally like brain porn to me. And no, I’m not trying to be ironic here. I actually meant every word I just typed. Keep up the good work! ❤

A debate/discussion about Europe with Kraut would be great
I doubt Kraut would want to appear with Whatifalthist
@charlesottowilliamwade5328 I was thinking about it because the two seem to like each other despite their differences
@@conserva-chan2735 I've not seen any interactions between the two myself but a discussion would be interesting
@@lordcharlesthomas they're cordial on Twitter and network sources for some of their videos
Isn't Kraut a radical leftist? Maybe I am wrong. I haven't watched any of his videos in years.

Rudyard has an Irish head, so I believe that.
great episode
First episode for the year. Howdiddlydoodlyhadlyhadly gents. Here's to another crackin good one.
I have seen Richard H talking in a number of situations - this lighting or something really did him no favors.
These are not political conversations, but every time I bring up the history of Liberia, they end the call
Babe wakeup, Rudyard did another interview
😛
Looking forward to you dropping the spirit world video
Will this episode be added to spotify?
Interesting stuff, but you still really haven't had anyone from a different political background on a show called "Common Ground"
Have they not been invited, or are they unwilling to accept an invitation? The zeitgeist is to treat anyone to the right as a pariah.

We need a new word for hyper-wokeism. It's far more damaging than just wokeism

I'm not sure how much longer we need the boomer representation on the show... 😬😬😬
That's what the leftists have been saying for 4 years. . .
Richard is smart but his open border attitude is nuts
Try to bring on the youtuber Kraut

Wokeness is more akin to Qucker practices as compared to nosticism
Gnosticism
Love that you had Richard on. You should scrap the Boomer cohost though. He doesn't contribute anything interesting to the conversation.
agreed
imo it's not the "woke" that's a problem, it's the SJW though that's the problem
