Thanks to you I started mullet fishing a few weeks ago at 70 , I had 4 fish on my first trip to Swansea breakwater, the best was 4lb they fight like crazy, so thanks Paul
Great tips . Not only how to improve catching these mullet but also like the idea of trimming down the hook to a double for greater fish care. Please keep them coming Really appreciate these informative videos. Thanks.
@@bradders15 this video is aimed at the majority of people that still use trebles. I have a tackle shop and know how many are selling, I usually use Korda mixer hooks or similar so it’s a step forward and I’ve had lots of people saying they have followed suit 👍
Loving these mullet videos. I live in South Wales originally from Plymouth and you've inspired me to do some mullet fishing up here after doing coarse fishing for years. Might even visit the river plym the next time I am back home
Great video. I've seen it done with quill floats on the Fowey estuary over the years. I'm going to have a go at it from my rowing boat with my son...many thanks!
The times Ive seen lads bet fired up for mullet , to only then get disheartened and Jack it in , Big 👍 to you Paul n Dan for a good break down of the bite
@@bassmansbountyfishing yes. Very. I know very little about mullet fishing and taking the time to show method and baiting, and especially the bites was very informative and interesting. Often videos throughout you tube can be all about the result but not how it was achieved and this video gave an inexperienced dangler the tools and know how to try their luck. So well done.
@@bassmansbountyfishing yes. Definitely worth a go. I caught one once on a bamboo stick float and line from a tourist shop in pollensa harbour Majorca. More by luck than judgement but it went like the clappers
No no nooooo sir get out there now, loads about still and they are hungry! I hooked 3 yesterday mate just avoid the flood water, good luck on your journey it’s more addictive than tobacco 😁💨🎣
i am from London originally now living in south Wales with the river Loughor on my doorstep i see lots of Mullet rising as the tide is coming in i have made 2 trips so far using a float with no joy , so next time i shall try your setup
Nice video bassman,I lost a cracking mullet on that snag 2 year's ago and it still haunts me until this day, great information on the video and looking forward to seeing more, all the best from mullet man👍🎣.
Great video. When would you strike a bite? I get plenty of bites, but only hooked 1 fish which hooked itself and pulled the rod round. Tried size 6 to 10 hooks (singles) but makes no difference.
Thank you 😊 Depends on what you’re feeling through the rod or watching it and the line tighten, If it all goes weird and the rods bouncing the likelihood is the fish has got the Hook in its lip and it’s shaking it out worth a strike or if you have the line go slack it’s worth a quick wind and strike 😎👍 Use a fixed paternoster size 8 hook
You have certainly sparked my interest as I see these up the Hamble river and have never tried for them. I loved the way the bites were explained and that you caught the take on film. 🎣👍🏻 Any tips on a reasonable rod/reel combo?
Liked the video 👍, something I do when carp fishing with bread is to paint my hooks white, this seems logical to me with any suspicious fish species. Maybe it would help with your mullet 👍
Hey bud, marks like this are great but I wonder do they tend to be disturbed once a fish has been hooked and landed to the extent that it needs a long rest or not ?
I caught the world record thin lipped mullet in Spain 10 years ago- unable to claim it,because it’s almost impossible to claim world records. The pieces of bread being used in this video are far too big. Mullet are very crafty fish. Don’t pinch the bread on too tightly. You don’t need a double hook either. A size 10 is perfect.
Cheers and unlucky on your claim, I’ve done very well on big baits over the years recently a 6lb 2oz pb , I scale down my baits if the mullet are finicky though 😊💪
Wow. I fished an old abandoned harbour at Port Carlisle for six months in the summer of 2005. I caught no Mullet despite the tide bringing in large shoals of good sized fish. I take my hat off; you are a skilled angler.
most exsiting and most fustrating at the same time proberly the only type of fishing i do where i swear alot and get mad and still enjoy every second of it will beat my almost 20 year old pb of 4ib 10oz someday lol
Man o man, you must have been born lucky! Love the way you handle the fish and return gently! Fantastic
Exciting isn’t it mr 🦊 , raising the bar 😎, not enough enthusiasm out there 😁🎥

You were very professional fight in that fish untangling your line around that branch fantastic
I was a bit lucky 😆🏆

You could just use a single hook.

Nice fishing, love the rod rest, but where’s your landing net ! a small trout net would be perfect.
It was on the bank I had to run 🏃♀️🤣, if you watch my mullet playlist you’ll see I’m never without a net or Matt cheers for the comment mate 😎👍✌️
Yes brilliant mullet program enjoyed it thoroughly thank you for the pieces you sent me much appreciated💯💯
No worries mate it’s the least I could do… 💚

Great video Paul. Although you make it look way too easy. The most frustrating species. Will have to give your tactics a go.
I’ve had a lot of practice over the years eventually they slip up 😃😁🤟
Great angling Paul.

3000 reel 11-12ft feeder/waggler rod and thanks for the comment! It’s not easy filming
非常棒的钓法👍🏻

That was awesome, ime going to give it a go.

Great video bud, never had a go at the mullet but it certainly looks tough 👌🏼
It’s a challenge 😵😬
Do you think float or bottem is better and is a marina or a estuary better?
Bottom👍
Marinas easier than estuary
Great great great great great

Do you put in any ground bait for mullet down in Devon
ALWAYS 😎👍
Cool video 👍🎣 and some good info
Cheers bud 🤟💚
Hey bud, marks like this are great but I wonder do they tend to be disturbed once a fish has been hooked and landed to the extent that it needs a long rest or not ?
Yes they do spook the other fish when hooked so either wait a while or move up the system and try again 👍😎
What a fantastic vid👍👍
Thank you for the support 🤟😎
Great video / thank you
Your welcome 🙏😁
Fantastic video. New to targeting mullet after many years of sea fishing. Love the hook idea. What size do you recommend?
