- Part Two of removing the engine and replacing the cylinder heads, headgaskets, lifters, pushrods, and more!!!
Part one is here: • 6.0 Ford Powerstroke H...
Unfortunately the shop truck needed head gaskets sooner than I was hoping. In this video we start the process of pulling the engine to replace the gaskets and install a new set of Powerstroke Products cylinder heads from @Blessed Performance LLC
Stay tuned for more of the project and more details about the heads, studs, and gaskets we are using for this build.

Many people are intimidated by these trucks and there is no reason to be. There are so many on-line resources like you, Powerstroke Help, Super Duty Service, Too many Toys and Powerstroke Customs, I pulled my engine just as you did and I did a complete rebuild with Stage II cam, ceramic pistons etc. After all, these engines are nothing more than a 32 valve push rod V8. I invested in about $700.00 worth of specialized tools, but they were well worth it. If your watchers have any mechanical ability, I would encourage them to give it a shot. I am in the Charlotte, NC area and would be glad to be of assistance to anybody in the area that needs it.
The forums are the best thing in the world if you want to do ANYTHING to your vehicle
Where are you located at? I have a bulletproofed 06 6.0 that ready to dump if I can’t get it running right with reliability. If we are close enough I’d like to ship it to you to fix. Thanks!
🐎 I have a studded 6.0, mild ECU and TCM tune, with a flatbed, weighs 8,000 lb empty and I can still break the tires loose at 30 mph
This one is down to around 5,700lbs. Should boogie.
@@InTheShop 32 in the valvetrain to give the other lane the pain
Glad you got part 2 video of the Head gaskets on the 6.0 Powerstroke Truck I can't wait for more videos soon I enjoyed the video.
Working on it now!
I'm something of a mechanic myself.
I love it when youTube actually gives me a push notification on a video!
It’s always good when EAS hits my comments section!
I enjoy watching this approach because I don't have the option (or equipment/lifts) to do the cab-off method. Looking forward to the next video!
How much would this cost to do it yourself without paying someone else to do it?
It’s tough to say. It all depends on what parts you replace. I’ll go over some of the costs in the next video.
Maybe a dumb question, but why do people pump up the timing in order to produce more hp. Isn’t torque really what you want?
I would be lying if I said I’m an expert on tuning but what I will say is timing does also increase torque. Most tuning out there will dramatically increase your torque numbers.
Perhaps to compensate for the dwell.
Dude she is coming alone nicely .. If people really want too see the pulling of the engine or any highly in depth info on the 6.0l they can go watch diesel Tec Ron ..When it comes time for the head stuff these trucks have been out here for ever .. I watch because you are making a cool truck and I enjoy the tips tricks and the fact you are just one of us ..Keep up the great work ..
Thanks Ken!!!
Can a bad injector cause a crank but no start on a 2005 6.0. ?
It could if the top o-ring was completely blown out causing a large high pressure oil leak.
Great show🏆 !
Is this a 2003?
Thank you! Correct it’s a 2003.
Very nice, You make it look easy, I know it isn't. Thanks for bringing us along!
Thanks Steven! I appreciate you always tuning in.
Luv it! Good to have a video record of how everything comes apart and goes back together. Looking forward to seeing the original head bolts and the high dollar replacement studs.
Hopefully have another video up this weekend!
