- "Personally, I could not get enough of Jim's writing: "Cars crawl past all stuffed with eyes, street lights shed their hollow glow. Your brain seems bruised with numb surprise. Still one place to go. Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen." I mean, that is like fucking nothing I've ever heard in a rock song. So, I was down." -John Densmore

The Doors channel is the official UA-cam home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.
John is so awesome doing stuff like this
Nah he was the sellout.
I thought it was Robby. John densmore is like a satanist over the bible .I am Jim's soul put into another body.
Thank you John and Jim's sister for keeping Jim alive!
I wish they could have put out another album or two with Jim. I have loved the Doors since the early 70’s. It’s too bad he passed or skipped out. They were the greatest American rock band along with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Wouldn’t you know James Douglas Morrison was a Florida boy just like RVZ!
Right. Nice inclusion of his kid. :/
@@robert.m4676 who is RVZ?

looking good John... listened back the other day to live Doors performances. Let me just say I was blown away by your feel and intensity. live long and prosper.
I absolutely love this,John you r a national treasure!!!🎸🎸🎸THE DOORS FOREVER!!!
John is the man for this. So happy to still have a piece of the doors doing stuff like this.
Great T-shirt, John!
Hey John you and the rest of the doors or awesome including Robby ! I just wanted to say I Always Loved The Doors & Jim Morrison was a Unique Poem Genius , Thanks for sharing such Amazing Pieces or Awesome work here " We All Love and Miss you Jim!! You will live in our hearts forever ...
I remember when I heard When the Music's Over for the first time. I was hooked forever
The same with also The End. It change everything.
@@hermanmelville3368 Same with L' America i was 9 years old (Summer 1986 Mundial in Mexico)
Jim's writing definately influenced my early poems and some of my songs over the last 55 years!
..... I'm so glad we have you still on 'earth' Mr. Densmore!
Much LOVE! - m.
Wonderful, how gorgeous is that packaging ❤️ i can imagine Jim would be so proud of this, as are you xx
I saw an interview with his sister, she’s been leading the charge on the recent restorations, reissues, etc. I almost cried, you can tell she does it for the love & memory of her brother. 💕
And the scratch too, let’s be honest. It wasn’t until fairly recently that she was able to secure a portion of the rights to Jim’s estate. That’s why you’re seeing this now.
All about the money. The gold mine of Jim and The Doors is still prosperous.
@@DJ-bj8ku@streettruckintitan y’all are bugging. It takes $ to maintain things - including a bunch of lawyers, lord knows how much $ & work to properly archive, etc, etc. If they didn’t really care, they’d release crappy re-releases that would’ve taken half the effort, as others have done. Grow up.
@@mafemartinez2235 What’s wrong with acknowledging that she wants to make money as well as honor her brother? She and her family were frozen out by Jim who left his estate to his girlfriend. Imagine losing out on millions over a lifetime. So of course it’s not just about loving Jim. Get real.
@@DJ-bj8ku you get real. If it was just about the $ the estate coulda very easily handed it off to others to do whatever they thought best.
All hail the Doors!
John Densmore and Robby Krieger we love you!
This is really touching! I'm telling this from the heart of someone who use to listen The Doors songs since I had consciousness... Many decades have passed after those first encounters with their music and now seeing this is incredible... We really came to know only limited material from Jim and The Doors... I wish they had the internet power we have nowadays, we would have had more beautiful music for keeping up with our lives
Special thank you for this t-shirt, John!
😊👍
The group will never fully comprehend the influence they have had on us as individuals.
Love from spain, have a nice day John!! ❤️🇪🇸
Thankyou John for continuing to keep Jim's memory alive. The Doors have been one of my favorite bands forever. Jim and Ray and all of you will live on forever with your wonderful music.
John Densmore is one of, if not the most, underrated drummers in the history of rock. He actually PLAYS the kit and it's just badassery.
Definitely mastered the narrow backbeat, John.
Gotta get me one !! Long live Jim the poet
Great Thanks for The Doors from all of us as a Fans!!!
This is like food for the soul from Jim's kitchen for every true The Doors fan. "Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen..." 😎
Hell yeah! 👍Well, the clock says it's time to close now
I guess I'd better go now...

It's so beautiful that your keeping Jim alive. Love and peace always John ✌️
Love from Copenhagen Denmark
Looks amazing! John live forever.
I am so grateful to you, The Doors, for truly opening to me The Doors of Perception, when I was a teenager "Rider On The Storm". Your music and lyrics have always accompanied me through different phases of my life (I am today 52 y.o). My love and respect for you guys will always be deep, sincere, and endless. Thank gods of art for having given us this great band (one of the few that justified its name and existence).
(Dear John, I was born in Australia, grew up in Greece and I was in Copenhagen-Denmark in 1991 when I read your "Riders on the Storm: My Life with Jim Morrison and the Doors" book, about your view, "from the position of the drummer". It was so touching and true... I am sending you and Robbie my best thoughts, feelings, and wishes! THANK YOU!)
When the poetry to the songs are immortal no time can constrain it's endless beauty.
Thank you. The first album, the music you listen to late night with all the lights out.
Thanks, Densmore. I can’t tell you how happy a dude born in the late ‘70s is for seeing you not only promoting, but enjoying a New Creation that us Doors Fans can also get & sink our teeth in to. I hope you’re feeling as great as you look, because you damn sure deserve it
Most talented band ever all 4 pieces were brought together to give us all a peak of true greatness. Thank you
Thanks for putting all of that together John. Must have taken a Herculean effort which is appreciated. Hope it sells well. Anything left over from Pam in there?
Jim still trying to turn us all round and round! He always emotion-ed gravity for certain endurance. One must open the walls of mystery, strip show! Always finite in the end, yet always reluctant on the path of credited awareness. Like most poetry, the man behind it builds its myths! #RIP 51 years without!
Many thanks John!!!!! James never dies!
What’s up glad to know you guys keeping Jim alive. Peace ✌️
really touching...jim never die
Really nice my best singer of all the time💘
Brilliant!
Wish I could've been there to witness the magic happening.
Jim's poetry/lyrics are spellbinding.
Los amo toda una inspiración para la vida como desearía conoserlos en personas
I love doors
So does every home owner and bank institution.
Thank you, John…for all of your efforts to help keep The Doors legacy alive!! I have a copy of A Guide to the Labyrinth and I absolutely love it! Such a beautifully constructed gathering of Jim’s writings. I wish every Doors fan could have a copy. Thank you, John!!
So happy to see you mate reading a bit of Jim's poetry, brilliant.
Love john so down to earth 🌎
Love to humanity and the end is always near
that was awesome to hear JON reciting UNIVERSAL MIND and WHO SCARED YOU. Two of my favorite songs that wasn't released on actual albums. And also ORANGE COUNTY SUITE

ONE LOVE JOHN
Very cool 😎
Good morning John
It's an Honor to know all of you
I knew Rick n Ray n Helen up in Isabella
Were fairly good friends
Worked for them for awhile off n on
Worked around Ricks' house occasionally
I knew who they were but we never spoke of it
He told me @ one time that he had a brother that was an Orange County Cop
Then ended up working for Jim and Grace
Pieces were falling together a little @a time
For me I've met a lot of very influential people thru the years like David Byrne sings about
I've met the people you read about in books and after Jim and Graces' I started hearing a song by Boz Skaggs
Lido Shuffle
"The Lee Doe Shuffle"
For weeks on end
Everyday
Many times a day
Drove me Mean Angry for awhile
Mad@Everyone for doin' me this way!
Then came to the conclusion
It's a job
Just get it done!
Was there just long enough to grab a handle off the Top
So I had to start Toe'n the Line😳
Their story as well as my mop handle
Remember the DWTS story about dancing with my mop
That was 95
Since then
Besides finding my Ex
The common denominator I've found with everybody
Spoken or not
We're all people
That just want out
Completely devoted and committed to those two tasks
Period!
Whatever it takes
I've wondered many times if I wasn't just gonna be another sacrifice or not but
Full Steam A Head😬
Whether I get there or not
What goes on in my Head is far from the story that plays out
Would Love to be that
Love story with the happy ending but it doesn't let me live that Way
Just do it
In my Ear Always
Angrily and Mean it is
Those big 4000K TVs have nothin' on my brain
Like virtual reality
Everything connected
The Good
The Bad
Whatever I have to do to get them there
Scary many nights but
like Tom Petty sings
You Can Stand Me Up
@The Gates Of Hell
I Wont Back Down!
That's who I am
I can differentiate between myself and my Role but they are so intertwined it's hard to separate the two @most times
That has to be an amazing piece of History that book
Really an Honor to know you all
I go thru these "scenes" out there on the road and people are oohs and ahhs but it's different for me
They go home to their Families and Friends
I just go to the next scenario
So debilitating
Has beat the Life right outta me
All I am and know is
Get There Or Not!
Doesn't matter what hat I have to wear
Thanks for the PFC work you did
Means more than you know
I do a lot of this🙏
I don't tell anyone tho
A lot of angry cussing also
Try to keep that quiet but sometimes it's a vent
Always have the proverbial dice hang'n on my mirror
Absolutely Hate Them!
Thanks Again🙂
Legendary band
To Damn cool! Man I wish I was living in those times with Jim and the doors to see them live, man what a trip that would of been to see the lizard king live!
His father was well-read and Jim was educated in the classics, so there’s no surprise that he could write well. Good readers make good writers.
I listened to strange days a lot during pandemic lol
Looks like an awesome book. Johns a great guy and terrific drummer.
Thanking You John
Jim a modern day prophet
Living Legend, Time Traveler.

thank you
God bless you John... 🙏🙏🙏🎵🎶🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
wicked cool
Thanks John! Still so many Doors fans! Long live the Lizard King! ✌
This must be so odd for the people who knew Jim as a friend and family member to see people like me adore this man like some legendary Greek god. To them he was just Jim. To them he was a real person.
I love this video! Only wish it were longer.
The Doors was my first favorite band. I had heard their hits on classic radio often enough but at 12 I heard Riders On the Storm while flipping the channels. The song caught me and Oliver Stones The Doors took me on a journey. Until 16 or 17 I obsessed over everything The Doors. I know every lyric to every album released and many bootlegs. Posters, biography’s, Jim’s Poetry books. I wore leather pants and made a replica of his necklace lol. I learned the hits on guitar and wrote a sort of tribute to The End. UA-cam giving me the opportunity to see John and Robbie now is absolutely awesome!
Awesome John, thank you..
Sehat selalu mr Jhon Densmore
Amazing
Джон ещё бодрячок) Долгих лет! Люблю их творчество.
Your music makes me smile ❤
That is awesome
I got mine!! Thanks John!
When I was a boy of around 5 or something, around the Bicentennial.. Dear ole Dad had two rock-n-roll records, and they were Weird Scenes . . . weirdly enough, he was just into guitar jazz, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Byrd, Tony Mattola, Feliciano.. like that, and Big Band. Had ONE (double) rock album, said a friend convinced him to buy it. My brother'd put it on.. Horse Latitudes always scared the heLL outta me, but i loved The Spy and The End.. Love Her Madly... Anyway, I never knew it til thru college and a couple decades of career struggle ~over 80 jobs, stopped counting, but I got some kinda idea that maybe I got Jim's soul when he left his body. I doodled constantly, won a scholarship and barely, very lazily over 8 years earned a BFAS degree. More interested in my next bag and dose and shrooms and women who were either out of my league or ones whom I thought were out-of-mine.. no job, just scraping by on 50$ a week from home. Most other art students in that school had no vision.. they were illustrators, not really fine artists. Now days here in the "Deep South" I live in a century-old dump of a house, day-drinking (night too) listening to everything on UA-cam and watching the songbirds i feed playing around and pecking their order. Got instruments, a '66 Jazzmaster Dad left me, a bass etc, and a kiddie drum set i arranged to play like Maureen of the VU but on the key bed of a really old studio grand that I gutted the action and keys out of.. sounds so deep with the harp still in there reverberating everything 100x more than normal. Ah, this got too long, hope this reaches you, John. When the music's over, x's on my eyes.
I'll soon be the voice of freedom! Boy the clues keep adding up don't they Rush.
Sapeee desde Bolivia
Great to see you John. Greetings from Amsterdam!
Omg I’m so obsessed I have to get this! Wow this is so wild! ❤️❤️❤️
