I've had it done once and I loved it. Was pretty light, nice gentle correction without trying to erase. However, since then I've learned about that big facial artery and I am scared to get it done again.
This is brilliant Nurse practitioner Dan!! Really is the best way for this problem I’ve ever seen, going to send this video to a practitioner so maybe I can have it done🥰
First let me say, “Thank You!” for all of your wonderful cosmeceutical advise. You’re simply amazing! I was curious when using your fanning technique to address the nasolabial folds, marionette & accordion lines…how much filler do you use on each side above & below the mouth? I know you said skin type & thickness play a role in determining the amount used….I was looking for the minimum you would recommend starting with? Fantastic video super informative 😊
Im a DIY, last week i did my Nasolanial area and since i have that deep crate you described right by the nose i wasn't happy with the results, today I followed your technique coming from above and pulling on the nose and it worked! The results are amazing!!!! Thank you and can't wait for your patrion/ seminar idea to come to life.
oooh Ive just started @Tali M, and I love Dan's channel - so super informative. It's a bit cheeky to ask here, but do you have any tips/things you wished you knew earlier??
Thank you Dan But how to do fanning technique superficially is facial artery lay superficially to fill nasolabial folds… I remember you said that most artery occlusion happened unfortunately from cannula. Thank you🙏
The facial artery in the middle part of the nasolabial fold lays in the middle of all 3 main facial layers, so going superficially while aspirating would be safe. Cannulas can cause vascular occlusion if injected at a certain force and speed, go extremely slow with larger cannulas
That's so good to know. I wanted to smoothen my nasolabial folds and they told me that injecting in the area of the fold is and ''old way'' and what they do is injecting near the cheek bone to ''lift'' the skin causing the fold. I gotta say, the result is not that amazing and I think they used too much filler on each cheek bone (1ml each). I'd love to hear your opinion on treating nasolabial folds with injecting near the fold as in this video vs near the cheek bone. Doing an educated choice is important for patients and I'd love to know how to go about this next time I want filler.

Do you make osseous contact when performing the first technique? You said the nerve is superficial so I would assume that making osseous contact would be a good indicator you are out fo range from the facial artery? Also, how much filler would you need?
Hi Dane I didn’t get it quite right. You first said to go deep with the cannula to be safe and at the end of the video you said to stay superficial with the cannula. can you please explaine it better? Thank You!
Thanks Cheryl! Question: If I created an option for my website, where you could have full access to videos that I’m limited to posting due to Health Canada rules, such as more fillers, botox, fat dissolvers and thread lifts. Would you pay a small monthly or annual fee? If so, how much? Thanks 🙏🏼
Great information, thank you doctor. i have a question regarding the depth of injection. in the nasolabial fold you said its supposed to be deep, but in the fanning technique with the canula, you say its superficial, isn't it dangerous to go superficial with the canula?
The cannula won’t penetrate the arteries whereas the needle would damage the arterie and maybe even occlude it . The deep injection in the nasolabial fold is done on the bone to be safe and one should *ALWAYS* aspirate !
Great video. Doctor I had my nasolabial folds done a few days ago. The injector used a needle and went shallow. It was very painful . And the. I drove home I notice a white patch above the injection point and my face had turned number. I went home had a head ache fell asleep woke up at 1am with one blood shot RED eye! I rang her immediately at 1am! She told me to come and get it dissolved right away. Nowt face hurts , the hire patch is still there and I have a very hard painful lump at the injection site .
Sorry to hear that. How is everything looking now? Happy to hear your provider was able to help you. You can always have more dissolver placed if necessary
It is interesting how you said at @1:06 that if the medial and lateral cheeks are flat, one can get nasolabial folds. How is that so? I have got cheeks but I still have nasolabial folds. I don't see the possibility of filling my cheeks cos it will not lift them up effectively to minimise the folds.
I have a question! When you are doing the fanning of the accordion line around the oral commissure, how deep are you with the cannula? Is it more superficial than if you were treating the pyriform fossa/NL folds, or is it also as deep? Thank you!
I don't knwo if this is the right video where I should be commenting this, but I have this white line right where the nasolabial fold are. It's whiter than my skin color that's why it really stands out. What is this? Please can someone tell me. 😞
Fotona 4D laser rejuv. They are the only laser that have intraoral handpiece . Step one called SmoothLiftin that uses erbium wavelength that targets mucosa cheeks and nasolabial folds and stimulates collagen contraction resulting in skin tightness with a very big improvement. Mine improved without fillers.
If you are going horizontally with a cannula it is safe to go superficially because the nerve lies on the hypodermis (middle of the main 3 layers of the face) or it would be below the smas.
Hi Dan You mentioned that the cannula should go deep to the bone for the bolus. Any advice on how to get to that depth without puncturing through the mouth
Sir, this vein is visible till the whole body, like the raised Nacellebia fold, just like the chicks also flower, and why do the chicks flower, if the age is less then ols 😕 sir 😭 😢 please tell me, I am sad as if I have become intelligent.
That depends on skin type. For thin-medium skinned persons, use a medium thickness HA FILLER. For medium-thick skinned persons, use an HA that’s in between medium and very thick. Make sure to massage all lumps afterwards!
I suggest for accordion lines to use a syringe, go into the dermis with a thick filler to fill those individually (fanning technique +aspiration). Although cannulas are safe, they are better for deeper lines.
@@superdiygirl481 how would you treat accordion lines?
