Are you getting the early 80s fox body mustang from the farm clean up? I'd love to have one. Unfortunately I'm in New Cumberland wv but if the deal was good enough I'd push the thing home. Lol. Another good video bud. Have fun on your camping trips bud.
When I was young my dad was a used car salesman. When he would drive home a fresh trade in I would pop out the rear seat and snag all the loose change.
Worked with a fellow that crushed cars, I was a hire truck and took the iron to the shredder. Lots of fun, lots of interesting things and treasure! I'd rather tour a scrap yard than anything else! Keep up the good work- A loyal follower
As a New Subscriber. I just want to say how I enjoy watching your videos. 1st because I worked for many years(80'-90's) in one of Ohio's largest Auto Auctions. 90% of my duties was running the bone yard (pretty much a junkyard) moving cars & trucks much the same as you do w/ your loader. also this Vid. has something that also made me smile. the wind @14:40 actually sounds like the waves on the Beach. ~
You drive that loader like it's an extension of your arms..you have an impressive yard and I wish you clear weather for your camping..have a nice rest..
I wish you were closer to me, I see so many useful things I would buy and resale, I have a salvage license here and understand you can't keep everything if you're processing scrap. Be safe , I'm 72 and semi retired scraping is dangerous as you well know.
I don't blame you on the hailstones. I spent 9 years stationed in South Dakota and saw some downright scary ones. They were the size of softballs with knobs and spikes sticking out. I saw a 63 Ford truck get the roof and hood pounded down and dents in the bed. Luckily I could get my car under the awning of a..... get this..... an auto glass shop! That one missed the base but the second storm did. Luckily the aircraft were spared much damage but the domestic area got hammered and had several thousand windows that needed replacing. It beat the heck out of everyone's cars too. I have also been "bit" by lightning. There was an abandoned railroad siding behind the shop where I worked in St. Petersburg Florida. I built truck beds out there because it was nice and flat. One day a nasty storm was rolling in and I was packing up my stuff. I was leaning on the bed but standing on the ground when the lightning hit about two blocks away down the alley. It hurt. Bad. My hair hurt. My fingernails hurt. I felt like I had been kicked in the crotch by an elephant. Other than pain and a newfound respect for big sparks from the sky I was otherwise unharmed. Damn I still can feel that. LOL! Be safe out there. Cheers Terry
Although I'm sad to see that a lot of 80s and 90s classics are in the pile (Mitsubishi Eclipse, Chevy Celebrity, Nissan Pulsar, OBS Chevy & bricknose Fords), you did find a lot of cool classics in that farm cleanup! I'm especially excited for that Mustang II! It's clean! Also, I hope the white Chevy van at the end of the video gets saved to your other yard!
I know you aren't a parts guy but the 87-96 F150/250s are full of valuable parts, I wish I were closer. Also save that Bumpside F250 from the farm, even the hubcaps on that truck are desirable. . .
Man I just love your video love junk years wish I had did that for a living but I was a truck driver for 20 years I am 64 now Bless you I will keep watching
Enjoy your vacation/ camping trip. Make sure you have Off bug repellent with deet to protect everyone from bug bites etc on your camping/fishing adventure
Junkyard vending machine money. 😉Endless supply with almost every car that comes in. I used to love those 70’s GM sedans. The change would slide out of peoples slacks/pants while they drove and end up in the cross brace at the back of the front seats under the cushion and under the back seat cushion on the floor. Usually 2-5 $ in every car.
Of course most cars are automatics now days as people seem to be to lazy to go with manual shifting. When I was a youngster a hot rod had a manual Trans preferably a 4 speed
I just rewatched the video of you camping in your junkyard camper school bus. It dawned on me while watching with all the trucks with flatbeds you tear apart. You could make some very nice patios with those truck beds pushed up next to the bus/ camper. Just a thought?
It’s awesome on you knowing what’s worth big money with these vehicles Silas! You love old classics as I do so this makes me want to watch you more and more!!!
When you crush the cars at The Ranch, you should set up the video like the Studebaker cleanup, where you crushed all the cars in one video. Great video!
Good day Silas! Going for a little click bait? Lol GOT ME! I seen that LAST day, and was like "Oh No!" that can't be so! Unusual? Yes. All over the place? Yes again. But always interesting, always amusing, always watch you, just don't comment. Hope you and yours, had a enjoyable holiday weekend!
I should have said put them on a low loader otherwise there may be a height issue. Should you go to a design engineer and have it made a system you could patent it . Why not? Even then if they are a too high you lay them on at 45 degrees. Worth a thought,
Variety makes it fun to watch. Some of those Ford 80 through 97 ish just like any other tailgate. You can score $500 on some of them. I know what you guys that's how they make the living. All they do is sell pickup tailgates. If it's not bowed bring by $150. Just know I did because putting them on racks taking them off isn't that difficult. Of course you know the older ones I can bring more money. The kids want to go off to college someday or maybe an expensive trade school 🎒. Not to mention the trip to Costa Rica beautiful landscape.
Crushing Cars - finding a little Money and Late Night Work - wow - Silas - Yes - You need to go onto those Camping Trips and Re-Charge Your Batteries - have a Great Time - maybe a little Mushroom Hunting as well !? Another Farm Clean Up is coming soon - hey - looking Forward to it - lets see what Treasures You decide to keep ! All Your Videos are an Adventure ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
I've been moyt (missing on youtube) I have a lot of catching up to do. Congratulations on having almost 90,000 views and 73,300 subscribers. I hope you hit 100,000 this year!
Silas It would be nice if you can do a video of what happens to crush cars? How do they separate steel, aluminum, glass, rubber, fabric and plastic? How do they make their money?
Thank you for bringing us all along and showing us what you do. Let us know the price's and how the crushed cars are put in the dumpster. You are awesome Silas.
Silas i like this farm cleanup. I seen a 4 door 1967 galaxie i hope you save. I could use parts of it have a couple here like it. You find the coolest things hiding in the weeds.
What have you done with the concrete pad behind the shop that you had a roof put on? Here's my idea, You should move your bus that you are converting to a camper to that pad and paint your logo on the wall and set up a picnic table and grill and make a fire pit there. I think you could shoot some parts of your videos there like the endings. You know like you kicked back in a peaceful area. You could display a few pieces of your art on the wall too. Just an idea. Love your videos!
Lots of cool old trucks and cars . I'd like to come see what you might have that would like to buy . I'm needing an old truck cab for a rat rod I'm collecting pieces for . The green International flat bed truck cab and front sheet metal looks like something I would like to have . I'm about 600 miles from you ,but that would be a great road trip . I worked on the railroad near you so I know the area , lots of cool stuff I saw while riding a welded rail train . Very windy and miles and miles of railroads . Cool video
I thought that if you stood the vehicles on end you would be able to load more on the truck. That way you probably need a crane but there must be a way to do it.`
Lol the second car that had the microwave on top I had one of those mine was a 85 nissan pulsar in red with sun roof I have not seen one in such a long time
Silas I enjoy all of your videos very educational and breaks my heart to see some of the stuff being crushed, the S10 Blazer two-door or four-door and S10 S15 square body trucks and Blazers they're becoming collectors items I'm here in Georgia and everybody's looking for them just thought I'd let you know sir
I’m pretty sure those tanks either carried fire suppression or oxygen on bombers. Rat toddlers want these for fuel tanks. If I was near I’d buy that tank in a heartbeat. Yep collectors item! 👍👍Good stuff Silas.
@@Mr.Howell78k You’ve seen me cut them off many times. All they do is just hang that on the wall. Sometimes they repaint them but I don’t do all that. I just sell the raw product.

Hey, that aluminum tank that you found those were actually military air tanks that’s what they were used for
Great day at the office!

You should invest in a 7 or 8 vehicle car hauler. That would be cool. 😊

If you go back to the 1980s this is the same thing people were doing with 60s cars
nothing he aquires gets saved he crushes everything, if he happens to save sumthin, he asks an outrageous price on it & wonders why no one buys it, 😡

Silas, have a great fishing trip! The best fishing is when you catch so many you have to make two piles of fish.😂

Do you ever get a call for old cars or trucks for movie props because you certainly have some beauty's there

Have you considered buying a single axle tractor and a flatbed trailer? You could move 2 or 3 vehicles at one time.
I believe the aluminum tank was originally a fire retardant reservoir that was pressurized for engine fires on large aircraft with radial engines
Thanks
Thats from a fire suppression system like above a commercial stove!
very busy man - seems worth taking wheels and tires off prior to crushing ? - maybe not ?
awesome video!
I'm just curious, how come you only do crush, have you thought about shredding to claim more of the ferrous metals?
You need a break working a lot.😂👍🇺🇸
