***I am aware of the error I made in not washing my hands after I handled the frozen chicken. I think that since they were frozen and didn't leave raw-meat-juice on my hands, and my nerves due to making my first video made me forget this very important step. So yes, I advise everyone to wash hands after touching raw meat. Please people, no need for the nasty name calling and messages. I am just a chick cooking in my kitchen and I am not perfect.
I'm super careful about washing my hands with chicken... but it's your kitchen, so I really don't care what you do! I'm sorry you're getting some hate. This video was really helpful to me and I've referred back to it many times.
I've been a professional chef for 15 years, and a home cook for as long as I could use the stove....so its rare that cooking techniques blow my mind. But using the hand mixer to shred the chicken..... MIND BLOWN. lol. What a brilliant and unique technique for shredding chicken. That part always hurts my arthritic hands, so you just saved me so much pain! :) THANKS! Just goes to show, you can never stop learning.:)
The only problems with using a blender is that it is one more item to store away once cleaned and one more item to take up cabinet or shelf space. I just use two forks, myself, but I do like this idea, yet have no possible space left for an electric blender. :-)
Thank you for a no-nonsense, no “use my code” and no affiliate link pushing video. This was very helpful to a good cook who just got her first Instantpot! I haven’t used the stove very much since!
I just found your channel and was so sad to see you aren't making videos. You are down to earth, clear and easy to follow. I have loved all your videos!
Thank you for explaining the ON heat up process and then the timer beginning once it was at pressure. No one else explained this. And using the mixer for shredding the chicken is kitchen genius. Bonus point to you :-)
Jennifer, I hope you have made more of your instructive videos. Everything I know about instant pot and a lot about cooking have come from UA-cam. I so much appreciate the FREE advice and recipes folks like you provide. Don’t let the extremely small minded commenters get to you.
This is my new favorite kitchen tool! Day 1 I was going to pressure cook a meat ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and potato stew, decided I wouldn't eat it that night so I went with a slow cook so I could go to bed and put it away in the morning. I love that versatility! The sauté feature works great and adds tons of extra flavor to dishes, and I can easily sizzle meats in the bottom then deglaze for some restaurant worthy flavors.Big bonus - you can cook a whole frozen chicken in about 2 hours. Amazing! I've seen a couple videos, haven't tried it yet, but I will soon!
Thank you. You are the first to explain about the time allowance to come to pressure. I did think I was doing something wrong. Also, great tip on using the hand mixer to shred. Never thought of that. Thanks again :)
Thank you for sharing your tips... I'm new to instant poting. I gathered a number tips to ad hock cook, and save time. The tip for keeping on sauté to have it pre heating while prepping the rest of the items. Thanks for being brave to post a video, I would not have guessed it was your first.
Yeah. I agree that no one else has explained the extra allowance for the pressure time. You did a good job for you first time. Great video. Can't wait to try it. Thank you so much. Especially the hand mixer. WOW! Genius.
Thk you. I liked the fact that you clearly showed which buttons to push and how long it would actually take. Using mixer as shreader...GENIUS! Keep up the good work!
I have been cooking for over 40 years, and never even thought of using the miser to shred chicken like that, but I will definitely be doing so now! Thanks!
This was incredibly helpful. I just got one for christmas and wasnt sure how to work it yet. I was looking for just a simple how to for the instant pot frozen chicken and all I was finding were actual recipes with marinades and such. But this was perfect! Thanks!
Thanks!! I've had my IP for 3 months, and afraid to use it... until I found your excellent video! Waiting for more IP videos and awesome advice... You have what it takes to hold the interest of an audience!
Love you for making this video! I just got my InstaPot and now...not only do I know to pre-heat the pot & ingredients to save time, but also that you can shred chicken with a hand mixer!!!?!?!?! Who knew! Thanks girl, you just make my Mommy weeknight meals easier!
I loved everything about this video but especially your accent. I’m from Massachusetts originally and miss it so much. I’m so happy it was so thorough because most others skipped crucial info. Thank you!
I love that your video is so realistic and practical! I have had my instant pot for a year and a half an have been afraid to use it! I am going to take it out of the box and give it a try! And LOVE that you used your hand mixer for shredding the chicken!
Hi Jennifer, I watched this video probably about 4 months ago- in these past months I have used this hack countless times. So I wanted to stop by and say thank you so much! Your video helped me eat healthier when I wanted to make things relatively quickly! Hope you have a wonderful coming holiday season! Thanks again!
Thank you for this - it was super helpful. I especially liked when you explained why it took so long to start the countdown because that was very confusing when I first got my Instant Pot. :)
Subscribed for sure!! Thank you so much!! The shredding with a mixer for the chicken total genius!!! I just got a Instant Pot and you were the first video I picked!! Thanks again!!!!!
This turned out suprisingly awesome. I added a bit of butter the the broth and seasoned it. After shredding the chicken, I threw a bit of the chicken back in the broth to taste and left and tasted the rest in the bowl. It turned out awesome. This instant pot will not replace every method, but it does a heck of a job with everything I have tried so far!
This is a great video. I love the way you take the time to explain what's going on. You don't assume we already know what we're doing. Bonus.....ding ding ding....your explanations aren't super lengthy and long-winded. Right to the point and actually useful information. I feel like I'm hanging out in a friend's kitchen!
Shedding the chicken with a mixer!!! Brilliant!!! My wife and I made a similar recipe and I shredded the chicken with two forks. One of my hands cramped up so badly I could not use it for five minutes and was sore all evening. This is great!!!
OMG!! Using your hand mixer to shred the meat-Mik drop..mind blown...why did I never think of that! Biggest thumbs up just for that! Thank you! Your a Rock Star :)

Thank you for a quick and easy instant pot recipe for frozen chicken breasts. And although I had seen the hand mixer method before, thanks for the reminder. Much easier.

People that want to be nasty will find a way, so don’t even worry about those folks. Besides, haters make ya famous. They’re the most faithful. 😝
