    Charles has it right (as usual). What makes Jokic unstoppable is that he DOES NOT MIND having 20 pts and 12 assists. He is literally the opposite of a stat-padder, he will gladly do whatever is best for the team to win, on every single possession: post up, drive the ball, hook shot, fadeaway, drop a dime, set a pick. COMPLETELY DISAGREE with Kenny's point about how to make Jokic expend more energy. With his court vision, do you really think Joker will let Laker defenders just swarm him and dare him not to find the open man?! Also, Joker may not be the most athletic guy, but that does NOT mean he's not well-conditioned! The guys NEVER stops moving -- he has one of the best motors in the NBA! @omnivorous65 Рік тому +5

      You make a really good point. Sure, Jokic cannot jump that high or win a sprint, but make no doubt about, he is a superbly conditioned athlete. NBA basketball is superfast, just ask players who return after injuries and need to adjust to game speed. He looks perfectly comfortable, running effortlessly for a big man, initiating and running the break. We have seen Jokic beating AD with his f*cking first step. Repeatedly. He does not look athletic but he is. And coming back to how well-conditioned Jokic is... One area in your game you suffer the most when you conditioning is poor is decision-making. Everything seems too fast to process. His mental acuity on the court is second to none.

    • @leok7193
      @leok7193 Рік тому +1

      he doesn't stop moving? he barely moves at all. AD can beat him down the court at half sprint.
      Jokic has 0 elevation on his post shots and AD literally can take the ball out of his hand on a hook shot, which is supposed to be one of the hardest shots to defend. he definitely cannot blow by anyone on offense, so any defender on him, can recover and contest or force a pass.
      on defense, he doesn't want to leave the paint and when you force him to switch to a perimeter guy, he'll just let you shoot, because he knows he has no foot speed to close out without opening a lane for a lay-up (AD blocks 3s and can make it back to block a lay-up).
      don't fool yourself saying he's well conditioned. he just expends minimum energy by moving as little as possible
      PS: you don't need to swarm him on D, game 1 already showed that a bigger guy (Rui) can perfectly fine defend him 1 on 1 with AD under the basket to contest after his first move, because he doesn't have athletic ability to change his shot. after the adjustment in the 2nd half, he looked terrible as LA came back 17-18 points

      @@leok7193 You make some valid points about his defensive but overall I would disagree. For one, he did beat AD on a couple of occasions with his first step and we all know what good a defender he is. And when it comes to conditioning you are completely off. NBA games are played at warp-speed. Just ask rookies or players who come back into the game after injuries and how difficult it is to adjust to game speed. If you are no well-conditioned decision making really suffers, that is the first thing that goes when you are out of puff and we all know about Jokic's mental acuity on the court. Look at the way he can initiate and run the break. You cannot do that at elite level without proper conditioning and adequate foot speed. The fact that he delivers these monster stats on a regular basis, the way he attacks the boards for rebounds... not just good, but superb conditioning.

      Good plan. Although here's where adroit coaching can counter. Each of the seven remaining players possess particular skills and strengths that game adjustments on the fly can be exploited, in a way that shifts things. Coach sat pat on a strict game plan in game 3, Joker's 52 was an attempt to bail out poor coaching by Malone. The Nugs coaching staff can't let that happen again. Jokic's brilliant game perception and massive skill set means endless possibilities to counter with.
