the point in which they needed a band psychologist to get Corey back in the band and to keep Dallas on track. (Octavio+Chris aside)Here, in terms of writing, it's basically Dallas and some kid on the drums who was more or less a child when they met. It's quickly becoming not the same band. To think a bunch of grown adults literally took the momentum of the work of teenagers(more or less) and ran with it for years... is only a feat of Aaron.. the rest of them.. just riding on the namesake of those talented and hardworking. It's honestly been since high school for me(mid 2000's) that I have wished Underoath ended when Corey and Dallas were gone. And despite his effort and talent, in a way, Aaron was grandfathered into the terms of success he takes on -- and he's as easily burdened by it than he is survived/succeeded.
I respect your opinion but you can't say Spencer Chamberlain, Tim McTague, James Smith and Grant Brandell didn't make an amazing album in They're Only Chasing Safety and Define the Great Line. TOCS stayed true to the sound that was built on TCOT and DTGL was a heavier take. What were they supposed to do? Having a preference for old Underoath is fine, but to discredit the work they put in on these two life-changing records is ludicrous.
I enjoyed to watch this video again.
Wow thanks for posting. To me - this is underoath. The other iterations should have changed the band name. Strange stuff
