Saw Underoath a bunch of times in 99 writing for a zine back in high school. These dudes were cool and they blew everyone away. Have always looked back fondly on the early years, Dallas is a rad guy. Maylene has some excellent albums
I’m 36 now. Can’t believe I finessed Bill Notke on MySpace to set me up with this. I was 19. Dallas was like are you gonna ask questions. I’m like no, pour your heart out. 20 year anniversary at the Norva for TOCS Tomorrow at the Norva! Let’s go!
I’ve known Dallas for many years, the nicest guy you’ll ever meet, his accident was devastating, loss of his mother, devastating. He rose up and continues to spread his love through his music, lyrics. I’d this man needs anything I’m there, always. Love You Dallas
Met him a couple times in the early 2000s . My buddy couldn’t make the show so Dallas used my phone to call him and say what’s up. The next time I saw him was at warped tour after they finished playing, he stopped what he was doing just to come over and say hey, the dude remembered my name and was by far the coolest dude I’ve ever met .
He was great in Underoath too. Just because you have an accent doesn't mean you can't sing post-hardcore. Accents really go away when you are screaming.
Fun fact, the clean vocals of old Haste The Day (the drummer) has a bad lisp when talking normal. I remember talking to him and I have a lisp as well and I was like OMG!
I agree...I actually own "cries of the past" and only "And i dreamt of you" and "Giving up hurts the most" and "cries of the past" are about his wife but they still are connected to God so I don't think thats why he booted him. I agree with you XD. I think they did it for women and just told him "oh you need to move on from your fiance." You know if my fiance died in 2000 or so i'd still be crying. Underoath are true examples of sell-outs. There lyrics are even becoming less christian aswell.
I need to know a serious question, Someone in the music business said Dallas passed away/ I hope not and has anyone heard something I did not. Please let me know Thanks Jackie
And we were like dude you want to play the bass for the band he said dude I'd love to so *random pause* that sounded really cheesy with the dude you want to join the band dude
dude, what the crap are you talking about?? did you even listen to the interview?? He was way stressed out over loosing his GF/fiance can't remember, they kicked him out, he was like what?? but he said it ended up being way better for everything, maybe true, maybe not, but thats what happened.
WOW! Why would anybody think he would get kicked out because he did crack? Fucking ridiculous...His wife died and he was depressed and also he believed that the band was afraid to claim that they were Christians, why would you even think about that Dallas would do that..
@weerpool14 spencer is really never would commit drug use at this point is a great believer in God and never would do as the side and all are Christians and worship God through their music
This interview is gold still till this day 10 years later
You’re welcomes

I don't think you the definition of a sell out lol
Yes and rejected Christ and became atheists. Typical of the popular Christian metal/hardcore/punk scene from that era.
Well this comment aged well actually haha they suck now and are definitely against Christianity.
