Cowboy boots actually became part of my identity. I remember walking into my first day of highschool back in 2009ish and wearing my cowboy boots. The kids in my school had never seen anything like it so I got heckled a lot. Still wore my boots everyday, and the heckling stopped when the kids realized I didn’t care what they thought. That was also around the time the country music craze started to come around and all the girls were into it, and eventually other guys would wear boots too. My nickname ‘Boots’ still follows me well over a decade later. Of course I still wear my boots.

Lot’s folks say u should wear sneakers more often cause they cheaper and I’m like well cowboy boots are cheaper when u think bout it cause they more durable they last longer u don’t gotta buy a new pair every single year like sneakers that wear out easy so sneakers are really more expensive than cowboy boots

I’ve been wearing cowboy boots since I was 18, I’m 57 right now and I don’ t mind being a trendsetter because I noticed some men of my age are now beginning to wear them as well, oh and this may come as a surprise to you but I’m living in Nagoya Japan for 12 years now. So the men I’m talking about are Japanese
Actually, the cowboy boot, like cowboys, was a thing introduced to the US by Mexico. As vaqueros predate cowboys by almost 100yrs. Remember, Texas to California, and up through Colorado to Nevada was Mexico first. We adapted the ways and wisdom of the vaquero to our own needs and style, and shared those adaptations with them. Both the cowboy and vaquero evolved together and separately simultaneously.
@@dirtedirte8771: riding a horse doesn’t make you a cowboy. Conquistadors weren’t cowboys. Neither were the English settlers who came on horseback, or the middle age knights.

Wore cowboy boots as a kid, and started wearing them again at 21. I get odd looks being a boot-wearing-latino in Atlanta, but I love them! Makes me feel confident and authentic
What part of Atlanta do you live/work? Lots of Latinos in the Chamblee-Buford Hwy area. Even a Western Store at Plaza Fiesta. Granted most Latinos don't wear boots to work, they do on weekends and family occasions. I am Asian and get compliments from Latinos when I go to the supermarket.
I love my boots! I've several pair of Tin Haul and rod patricks. I also have 2 steel toed ariat and justin for work and kicking around the barnyard. I seldom wear anything else even to church. Im an old school country gal.

I have read hundreds of western novels, and history books on the pioneer west. I also wear the hat. I stand out like a prickly pear, in a peach grove!
I’m from the Netherlands and have been wearing sneakers my entire life. 3 weeks ago I bought my first cowboy boots because I could buy them with a discount. Once broken in they are waaay better than sneakers. Just bought a second pair of boots yesterday!
I live in the UK in a big city and I have been wearing cowboy boots for years! Sometimes get strange looks but most people love them and it shows my confidence
I live in the UK and just got back from a 4 week work trip in Alabama and Tennesee. Ive always wanted a proper pair of american boots. I picked up 2 pairs of Ariat's while I was there and I just love them. So far ive been wearing them everywhere because they just look so dam good with a good pair of Levis. Plus they make you feel awesome just putting them on. And they look sharp as hell. I love them!
I talked with another guy before about wearing cowboy boots and he said that he wasn't confident enough to wear them. I'm always wearing mine, and I'm always noticing both guys and girls checking them out all of the time. But that's not why I wear them, I wear them because boots are fuckin' awesome! Justin Bent Rails are my all-time favorite, if ya haven't noticed by now.
haha thats what I'm talking about! One of my goals on this channel is to increase the confidence of those on the edge of wearing them. There just needs to be more folks wearing boots!
I’m a person of color. And when I slip on my boots I just get judged by people in my community, but when I go to work everyone has got them on and I feel like I belong lol
That’s why it’s bad to say that race = culture, you can be any race and be a part of any culture, I don’t even see race, it’s really not real, just minor insignificant differences, we’re all Homo sapiens
What the flying shit does your color have to do with your boots … and who cares if they laugh cut the woe is me and cowboy up or take the damn boots off
I’m up to 9 pairs! I have 3 tecovas, 2 Justin’s, 2 hand made Mexican boots, 1 pair of twisted X’s and just got my first pair of Lucchese’s today! Can’t wait to wear them out. I wear boots a few times a week.
Take your time and try on as many as you need to find that right pair. I suggest a lower heeled roper. You will find them to be more comfortable than any other shoe you own. Important to find a sales person or longtime boot wearer to show you proper fitment and heal slippage.
Wear my boots day in, day out! Actually met someone else in the same city as me that wear them, which I thought was amazing considering cowboys are not really a thing here and when I tried to talk to him about them he seemed so shy to discuss it. He totally needs to join the boot group and see that there's many people out there that have the common interest
My first pair of cowboy boots my aunt gave to me,she found them in motel room she was cleaning, back in the 70tys,I was 26 at the time driving truck long haul,so I started wearing these cowboy boots, they were so comfortable, So I bought my first pair of Tony lamas. Now I have a nice collection of cowboy boots,Glad to be a part of this community.
I bought my first pair of “cowboy” boots a few months ago. For the longest time I only wore work boots(at work of all places) and either converse or OG vans any other time. And I’m now happy to put on the cowboy boots any time I’m going out with friends or family.

Interesting topic. I am 39 years old and always liked Cowboy boots since I was a little kid. I was never confident to wear them in fear of people giving me a hard time. I finally bought some Ariat Boots to wear with my jeans so I looked more put together when I would go out. I like them so much I started to wear them as my primary shoe with jeans. You might get some weird looks but there are places in the U.S. where I get weird looks too haha! No matter where you go people, will have opinions about you. Cowboy boots are quite practical when riding a motorcycle. As someone who rode a motor cycle to a business where the other workers were trying figure out where to park in the Volvo? Well did get few jabs. That is until I told them it only takes 20 minutes for a 15 mile ride for me to get to work on the 405. Then I took them off and took my penny loafers out of the drawer in my desk. Removed my coveralls. Hung my suit coat up. Straitened my tie. Went work doing my IT support job. They also had a shine that would make the 1st SGT smile.
I live in a big city and brought my first 2 pairs of cowboy boots and I absolutely love them! Yes I get looks because I dont fit any stereotype but I always break the rules and wear what I like. Your channel gives me that extra boost in confidence when I wear my cowboy boots and I thank you :)
I just got a new pair for my 40th birthday. First time I've had a pair since I was a teenager and I'm really looking forward to wearing them. All these things you say are completely accurate. You don't have to be a stereotype to wear cowboy boots. I still wear tennis shoes and cargo shorts for work.

Yeah, I like to wear oxford shoes, military, and cowboy boots but when I put on the only pair of sneakers that I have... something is WRONG inside of me
BadZipness If you’re in Oklahoma, look into some boot brands with some history of bootmaking. Nothing against Tecovas, but if you’re traveling to the US to a state with a ranching/cowboying history, you can do better. Go to boot stores, ask questions, and try on a bunch of boots.

I'm late to seeing this great video. For me, its a nostalgic connection to my dad who wore his boots and Stetson hat every day. This is a great post regarding the type of person who wears cowboy boots. I totally agree with your points. I wore blue Sendra cowboy boots at my wedding. Thanks for your views on this topic.
If you really want to get their attention, make sure to wear the Wranglers, a long sleeved Wrangler shirt buttoned up, and a buckaroo hat. On a cool day you can add a Filson vest.

I’m done with his reasons. Cowboy boots are worn for many reasons ESPECIALLY if you live out in the country. You don’t only own a pair but like 3-5 pairs!! And in different colors and skins. I can agree with the last three though.

Cowboy boots used to be very heavy when I got my first pair when I was 11, I wore them again they were a little heavier but I tolerated them. Now tennis shoes feel oddly light and just don’t feel right for my feet. I wear cowboy boots everywhere, helping someone move, in the city, in the country, fishing, school, and literally everywhere. I just love how they are water resistant, I used to cross water regardless if I had cowboy boots on and it would sink my shoes. Cowboy boots are just good for everything.

I'm a French man, I wear my black cowboy boots almost everyday and I'm proud to wear them. Such a shame that we don't see more people with these shoes. By the way I love your videos, greetings from France!
Cheers!! Thanks for repping boots in France.

I wear them everywhere I have a pair of Laredo’s for ranching, a bunch of people at school never understand they all don’t understand!
It's true. Many people don't understand but that's part of my goal in making these videos. To help make them understand!

Cowboy boots are the most comfortable footwear on the planet. If I ever was going to run a marathon I'd do it in a pair of boots!!!
Alot of people out here in cali wear cowboy boots. Especially in the Mexican community. Remember the spanish vaqueros and caballeros had a huge influence in the cowboy boot
A huge influence!!
I am from Mexico, Michoacan.. I live in Los Angeles Ca. My husband and I are loving the cowboy stile and are doing a little research on the different style boots out there! Lol getting ready to own my very first pair soon!
@@bluewhale2600 you're from michoacan and don't know about cowboy boots
True. Except the Spaniards never called themselves vaqueros, that word originated in northern Mexico and the Southwest by mestizos
Not really they dont wear traditional cowboy boots they wear western work boots, only the older generations wear actual cowboy boots.
I use my cowhide boots everyday and my exotic boots for weddings. Got my two boys their first pair.
Way to pass on the passion for boots!

Shit I only wear cowboy boots and air forces
As a Texan I have cowboys boots and love them. I wear hiking boots when I’m backpacking, I wear tennis shoe when I’m working out. And flip flops to wash my Jeep, going to the pool, or at the beach. My cowboy boots are my every day boots.
“They take no shit from anyone”. Damn skippy son! You got that right.
I have 14 pairs: old griñgo, Luchesse, Liberty black, Lane Corral and Johnny Ringo. I am a nurse manager and my staff wonder if I am not well if I don't wear them.
Epic brands there! Thanks for all you do
When people ask me why I’m wearing cowboy boots when I’m not a “cowboy”, my response is always the same. “Why is it any of your business?”
Tell em “why you wearing running shoes and not a runner”
Why not? No worries
Got them right.
You don’t need to be a raised cowboy to know and appreciate great footwear such as cowboy boots.
Then what about 90% of people who wear basketball shoes
Lot’s folks say u should wear sneakers more often cause they cheaper and I’m like well cowboy boots are cheaper when u think bout it cause they more durable they last longer u don’t gotta buy a new pair every single year like sneakers that wear out easy so sneakers are really more expensive than cowboy boots
Exactly!! 👊👊
@Mafioso 1963 tecovas boots can be a good starter
To me boots are more comfortable then shoe's.
The reason why I'm considering switching over to boots..they can last a lifetime and soles can resoled
I have some cowboy boots that are over 25 years old. They can be cheaply and easily rebuilt. Alot cheaper than buy new foot wear every year. I collect cowboy boots like women collect shoes!
I'm 40 years old I was born an raised on the ranch I still live on to this day I probably have 20 pairs of boots I wear boots every day I have never owned a pair of shoes just boots
Hell yeah
And the cowboys of Spain … horses didn’t originate in Mexico … the conquistadores came on horseback …
@@dirtedirte8771: riding a horse doesn’t make you a cowboy. Conquistadors weren’t cowboys. Neither were the English settlers who came on horseback, or the middle age knights.
But they wont swallow their pride

Wore cowboy boots as a kid, and started wearing them again at 21. I get odd looks being a boot-wearing-latino in Atlanta, but I love them! Makes me feel confident and authentic
What part of Atlanta do you live/work? Lots of Latinos in the Chamblee-Buford Hwy area. Even a Western Store at Plaza Fiesta. Granted most Latinos don't wear boots to work, they do on weekends and family occasions. I am Asian and get compliments from Latinos when I go to the supermarket.
I dare anyone to buy a pair of Tecovas and not get hooked. Just bought my second pair. Love them!
I agree! I have 2 pairs as well
Get it!
I love my boots! I've several pair of Tin Haul and rod patricks. I also have 2 steel toed ariat and justin for work and kicking around the barnyard. I seldom wear anything else even to church. Im an old school country gal.
5 pairs and still ordering..
you should try a pair of American made olathe boots?
Retired Semi-Operator from Pa. I Dress like a Cowhand daily. I have 7 different pairs. I was born in the wrong part of the world. I always dreamt of being a working hand on a ranch. I have read hundreds of western novels, and history books on the pioneer west. I also wear the hat. I stand out like a prickly pear, in a peach grove!
It says I live a lifestyle rough on most people, and I need some footwear that can hold up like I can.
I’m from the Netherlands and have been wearing sneakers my entire life. 3 weeks ago I bought my first cowboy boots because I could buy them with a discount. Once broken in they are waaay better than sneakers. Just bought a second pair of boots yesterday!
Here in good old southwest Virginia almost everyone wears cowboy boots

I live in the UK in a big city and I have been wearing cowboy boots for years! Sometimes get strange looks but most people love them and it shows my confidence
Totally! Most people do love the look of boots. Good for you for wearing them over there!

Same here but I don’t care. People have their opinions and that’s ok but my vote about my boots and my life totally out weigh their opinion. . Be you!

I’m up to 9 pairs! I have 3 tecovas, 2 Justin’s, 2 hand made Mexican boots, 1 pair of twisted X’s and just got my first pair of Lucchese’s today! Can’t wait to wear them out. I wear boots a few times a week.
I never got a pair cause my grandpa was a real cowboy. I felt I’d be a poser, but now I’ll probably get a pair.
You should! You don't have to be a cowboy to wear boots just like you don't have to be a basketball player to wear Jordans
@@JeremiahCraig facts
Is everyone with tennis shoes who is not a tennis player a poser?
Take your time and try on as many as you need to find that right pair. I suggest a lower heeled roper. You will find them to be more comfortable than any other shoe you own. Important to find a sales person or longtime boot wearer to show you proper fitment and heal slippage.
In that case, we shouldn't wear Baseball caps either since we're not professional Baseball players
He sure does! He might just be new to wearing them still. Good for you for making him feel welcome to it!

You might get some weird looks but there are places in the U.S. where I get weird looks too haha! No matter where you go people, will have opinions about you. The important thing is that YOU do what YOU want with YOUR life. If that includes wearing boots, go for it. There are some other boot wearers I know in England. Just buy some and wear them, who cares what anyone thinks, they’re incredibly durable and comfortable
On the contrary, no one knows until they try it. I've known of Americans in Europe who gain exceptional admiration in cowboy/cowgirl boots.
I’m from LA and the first thing I see is everyone looking but pretending they ain’t . Second when I’m wearing them people feel like people take me more serious especially during meetings.
No doubt. Boots have that air and they give it to the wearer too. Always helping kick ass and take names!
You wear yours out in LA? I live out here too and just ordered me a pair. I’m kinda nervous wearing them out but kinda excited as well lol.
