generally im the only one who dresses up any around here- out of everyone in the neighborhood, im the only one wearing a button down and dress slacks. what i do to feel more confident at standing out, is think to myself 'man, if someone from out of town came here, they'd think i was the top dog around here!' so i start standing straighter, and act like i really am that important person, and i start to stop caring if people stare at me or say something about my clothes. i guess you could say i pretend, and that helps me overcome being nervous and self conscious. i dont know if that will help anyone, but it certainly helps me!!
Great story! Thanks for sharing this. I don't think that it's pretending. You're just doing what you're comfortable with and how you feel best portrays your personality. When it comes down to it, being comfortable with who you are makes the most difference. People will look to bring down people who are slightly unsure of themselves but when you have none of that and you do what you want, people will either be drawn to you because you do amazing things or leave you alone because you remind them how unhappy they are with themselves. Keep it up man. This is exactly the thing more people need to see.
In my observation there's nothing wrong wearing dress slack and button down shirt go with cowboy boots damn......!! i love to people wearing in such dress atleast they have sense to look good. Hey man you will get compliment from me if i see you dreasing like that :)
Exactly Totally agree my friend 💯 They should just zip their mouth if they wearing sneakers lol. Im a Mexican from California & i love everything that has to do with footwear from sneakers to shelsea boots & cowboy boots. I wear sneakers most of the time but on special ocassions i wears boots Square toes boots Cowboy boots Or botin boots ,Boots are the best💯✌
@@JeremiahCraig except athletic shoes are more comfortable for every day activities. If they've got leather sneaker which is less atheltic you've got no place in making fun of them
@@brandonkey181 I disagree. Boots are more comfortable for every day activities. They form to your foot with age and there is not a sneaker on earth that will do that before it breaks
You know what is funny. That I'm a black American who's been wearing boots for over twenty years. I love them they make me feel manly sexy and kick butt throw down and knockin boots at the end of the day. It's the shoe I like and don't care what anyone says. Just making my day don't let no one tell you can't wear them. As black man I don't see people like myself wear them much. I hope there are black men who wear them come forward with your stories soon like me. Thanks Jeremiah
I worked with a black man who loved country music and had like 4 pairs of cowboy boots. He dipped Copenhagen. We worked doing Diplomatic Security. On our days off, we would put our boots on and drink beer at a bar. Nobody said a thing. That was in Virginia. When I lived in Arizona, I saw plenty of black cowboys wearing boots. I guess it's all about where you live. Keep wearing those boots. Tons of black men out there are no bullshit cowboys. Good for you buddy!
Congratulations my friend Im a Mexican American from California I have few African American friends that i grew up with since school days n it's amazing having to see their style transformation they made from timberland boots jordans chuck taylors to cowboy boots lol n it makes me feel good to know that i was their inspiration & we've going to the mexican bailes Rodeos Or Night clubs Boots are the best💯☺✌
@Adrian haries i am Pakistani rasied and born there i been wearing boots since childhood i got it from my dad he is pakistani too... I love boots, rock and wear them with pride. Im 31 came to California in 2006. Never got bullied but only compliments but in case down the road if i do get bully i would say "no english" with 😃
@@ravenjorge2830 No english with a smile lol 👍 But who cares about those haters my friend just wear whatever makes you feel good & happy 😊✋ im a mexican from California n i have few pakistani friends that wear boots with pride 💯✌
I'm 18 and I started wearing then a year ago. My friend put me on to them who's been wearing them his whole life and my dad hates them. He's always making fun but idc. They're comfy and badass and that's why I love them
Congratulations my friend boots are defenetly bad ass You right on that :) 👌 & they defenetly make us standout from everyone else wearing sneakers/jordans lol & for most makes us handsome n sexy in dem💯😊✋✌
He is jealous. Because he would be self conscious in a pair. But thier are so many types of boots. Engineer boots. Dingo boot.round toe.pointy toe. Square toe. Low heel.riding heel.lace ups. Etc.etc.
Definitely not! It's such a different story in the northern states though. People are affected by them in strange ways... they're just boots people! Get over it
I recently got into Western wear and I never cared for the city-boy Nike stuff. I'm from the suburbs but long for the Countryside. Anyone making fun of such well-made footwear can kick rock and kiss grits.
Hey✋ Same here my friend 👍 Im from the suburbs of California where most hipped young ppl wears jezzys n jordans lol while I wears badd ass n sexy boots💯✌
@@pdswrld5200 I never saw this reply until I returned to this video. That is awesome! What brand do you wear. I have one pair of Ariat and I got Dan Post for Christmas. I wear Western boots about 80% of the week. :-)
My first western boots were Rocky work boots. I work in construction as a plumber, and from the first day I wore plaid to the work site, bit did it get me noticed quick! People told me I looked to clean, or they’d say “photo shoot is over”, but I continued to wear plaid shirts because I like them. Soon the fact that I was consistently noticed and commented about became a godsend! As I was continually sticking out, my work was being noticed too! clean, code abiding plumbing, and my passion for the trade. I started making friends at the worksites and people would accept that I wore boots and plaid and they admitted it looked good. Now it’s my distinctive mark, people remember me for my style... never be afraid to own your style!
I’m far beyond the age of caring what anyone thinks about me. As for the younger men in the group, believe me it’s better to stand out in the crowd than to be just like everyone else. Who cares what some fella thinks? We care what the ladies think, and trust me, they notice.
I wear them to teach my college classes. None of the male students wear them. Not the style around here. I am proud to wear them. Plus the noise they make on the tiled floors is just intimidating enough to let them know who is the teacher.
Really guys who wear western boot should learn to walk in them without clumping around. But they are great for kicking ass. Slow dancing.bull riding. Bronc riding. And busting your ass in because they are leather soled. So have rubber no slip glued on at the cobbler shop. Just a word from the wise.
Man, I live in arizona and never have heard of this. I really hope kids dont rip other kids up over something as simple as this. If you wear a boot you are a man, last of a dying breed. If they call to you , better wear them with pride. Be happy you arnt a carbon cut copy of the new generations. Plus you instantly have a friend when you find another boot guy! Guys in boots are cowboys, we dont fit in and follow we are wild and have adventure and others follow us!
AMEN! We don't want to fit! That would be the worst! Arizona is so open to anything haha. I think it's the most American state I've ever lived in. Absolutely love it. I want to encourage the young folks living elsewhere wearing boots so that we're not a dying breed. I feel like all cowboy boots need are a few advocates and they will be accepted by everyone... The people who actually like them and the fickle folks as well.
Hey I'm from AZ to and also young and I've been wanting to get a pair of cowboy boots for a long time cause I like Westerns and cowboys and also want to stand out and only people I can think of that'll make fun are like Nike Jordan and designer trend whores
@@Fnhfendi go to the boot barn or a boot store. Live your life no one else's my buddy. You'll get people thatll comment sure but if they call to you it's for a reason! Just try some on if anything
I think a lot of those people secretly like western boots but dont have the balls to wear them because of what someone might say .so they cant stand that you're wearing boots because they wished they could. Lol
i’m 17 and started wearing Tecovas because of you ! but i’ve been told i look stupid wearing them, never bothered me a bit I worked hard for em and love em. I went from vans to Boots 👍🏼
One area where life was fortunate to me....I’m 6’5”, 270 so I don’t get snide remarks much on anything. I also try to compliment any one else that I see wearing cowboy boots. Making others feel good about what they wear usually makes their day and makes them smile. Keep rockin’ brother and making these awesome vids.
TOTALLY! I always try to compliment stranger's boots as well. Even if I'm in a conversation with someone else and I see some boots, I try to stop quick and say "Hey nice boots" then continue on my way. It makes a difference I think. Good for you for doing that. Thanks for watching.
I dress like a psychedelic cowboy all the time. I dont get made fun of really, just laughed at, especially by teenagers. It makes me happy to put a smile on others faces. And I'll admit, I do look ridiculous.
Who cares dude. It makes you stand out and unique. At least you’ve got taste unlike the teens who laugh at you when in fact they only wear sweat pants and jumpers. Keep dressing whatever you like and rock it! Looking to get my pair soon 🤞🤘
I spent 6 months in Spain, I used my cowboy boots very often. The girls were amazed, they're not used to men who wear boots. I didn't expect that because I'm from northern Mexico, we like cowboy boots and we're used to them. But it's all about confidence and what you project to the people. If you think you look OK, people will think so too.
I get made fun of for having so many pairs of boots. I see a pair I like, I buy them! My bills are paid, don't drink, etc. Just love my boots. Glad to see others love them too. I dress around which pair I want to wear for the day. I handle it by saying, "You're just jealous you don't have a pair."
I was born in Texas. Grew up a country boy. My dad was career military and we had to move to New York, so I still stick with my look. Cowboy boots, jeans, nice rodeo belt, nice shirt and a hat. I even wore aviators. First couple days in school, I stay more towards myself. Now we’re in mid to upstate New York. I’m the only kid that dresses like that and I got made fun of for dressing like that. I’m a teenager, I could wear a $1,000 outfit and look like a jock. But you’ll always get made fun of for something. My message to all of you is don’t let others impact you. Country, that’s our heritage right there. Don’t let other people decide what your gonna wear. I hope that no one does get bullied for being a country kid but just don’t listen to them.
This is perfect! I grew up in a rural area and always wanted to wear boots and wranglers. I got so much crap in school for wanting to wear them but not living on a ranch or farm. I am and was a country boy, not a cowboy so I got crap for wanting to wear them. Today, I wear my boots after deciding that I wanted to wear them. I’m an adult and am a country boy, I decided a month ago that I’m going to wear boots.
I'm a grown man; so I wear whatever I want. I see so many strange "hipster" fashion trends/fads while walking down the street that I have to wonder how anyone could ever have the cajones to make a snide remark about my boots! I live in the Chicago area (where cowboy boots are not at all popular), and have never received a negative remark about my boots- well not to my face anyway. I couldn't care less what folks think of my choice in footwear. Chances are, if someone is that distraught over what I wear on my feet, then they are probably a miserable person, and no 2-minute conversation about my boots is going to change who they are. JUST ROCK 'EM PROUD!
Exactly. I never get approached as a grown man now either. Most times people are afraid and would rather just rant about your boots on Twitter haha. Young people are having trouble with this though. Folks in middle school and high school so I just wanted to make this so they can feel proud about it because I wanna see more people being happy and wearing boots!
@@JeremiahCraig I can definitely see an issue with the younger, school-age crowd. The truth is, kids are going to find something to make fun of you for regardless of what you do. I guess it just comes down to what are you willing to put up with. Middle school kids are brutal!
They really are. Honestly, I shouldn't have had to make this video at all. It's a shame people are feeling uncomfortable in boots because they're bullied
You know, the other day i saw a older gentleman who came to visit Norway, and he was wearing Cowboy boots, i was nervous to ask him how/where he got them from, but i approached him anyhow eventually, First thing he said to me is something i Faintly remember, Because you know when you have those conversations that have alot said in them, and a few laughs here and there, it just goes by so fast and you try to tell it but don't seem to remember, maybe that's just me lol, anyway, He said something along the lines of liking my Boots, and they were Timberlands, but Shaped like how Cowboy boots are made, I complimented him on his choice in them, They were Black Cherry brown-ish, and overall just looked pretty badass, He then Recommended Ariat Boots, i ended up on this channel and then i passed by this little video, Saw your comment, Point is i'm 22, Not the biggest fan of my Generation (And i do apologise that most of them seem to make fun of this stuff when they themselves dress as Goth clowns with daddy issues.) i'm a big fan of Cowboys or anything related to that, and i just basically wanted to say I'm proud that people like you are still around and representing such a badass culture. hope this brightens your day and may the wind be at your back!
I don't have any friends who wear cowboy boots. It doesn't stop me from wearing mine. My motorcycle boots are western and I have 2 other pair. A pair of every day wear Ariat with zipper sides and a pair of Lucchese ostrich boots. I love the way my boots look on me! I don't care what others think, positive or negative
This video is 1 year old but the message really talk to me. I'm a young french and it's difficult to have cowboy boots here. But i love cowboy boots and it fit with my classic rock clothes , so i don't care , thanks for this video !
I have a standard comment: I used to be one of those guys that razzed my buddy about wearing them right up until the day I tried a pair on. He always said you will never have a more comfortable shoe on your foot. He was right and until you try a pair, a good pair, you really have no idea what you are talking about. That's 100% honesty!
Hey the ladies definitely notice,my dad and i was in NYC in 2006 a lady turn and look at us a said y'all look good we had our hats and boots on,i was so tickle.ill never forget that.
I once had a guy go: "Your sense of style is stupid!" To which I responded: "yeah, probably. But then your sense of individuality and decency is just that little bit more stupid." His jaw dropped to the ground and he didn't know what to do with himself😂
Jeremiah, as you know, I am a huge fan. This is a very interesting topic. Me personally, Asian American female who has always wanted to be a cowboy (cowgirl) my entire life. Growing up as a city kid wearing western apparel was a big no-no. My aunt used to take me up to the country every weekend to get us out of the city and expose us to different way of life, which is why I feel like a cowgirl at heart. After all these years I finally purchase real boots, several real hats, and I almost feel embarrassed to trot around town wearing these items. However, after asking several individuals, they all say you should wear whatever makes you happy.
At my age I'm totally oblivious to other people's comments. I wear my cowboy boots and the rest of my western wear with pride and confidence regardless of what other people think. I'll even take things up a notch by tucking my jeans into my boots.
hey Jeremiah, you are so right and gave me confidence. I'm livin in southwestern Germany and I'm wearing cowboy boots all the time, can you folks imagine how rare that is around here?! people blamed me for that, but I dont mind it. Some people even asked me what are these shoes? xD and I explained it to them, the tradition and the history behind it. why I'm fascinated. I dont know any other guy or girl in my surroundings wearing western boots, but I'm tryin to make them popular here. so guys, do what you love! ☺️
Hey, I'm from south Germany and wonder where I can get real good boots, especially square toe, other than from the US. You know a shop around here where I can try them on? Or a german online store that sells them? So I don't have to pay extra tax to have them shipped from USA, and would be much easier to send them back to a german online store in case they don't fit. Please let me know, I'd appreciate. P.S. I'm a woman, so looking for lady boots :)
I'm currently 16 and luckily my friends are so chilled they don't even care. I live in England so ive got looks from people in the street and I look back and smile. I'm moving to Florida after school and I'm thoroughly looking forward to it :). Great video as always man :).
I live in UK where cowboy boots are not widely worn and I wear them anytime I got out. Never had anyone say anything about them or never been mocked for them. Even if I was mocked for wearing them I would just laugh and shrug it off 😂🤷🏻♂️
I’m black(don’t mean to bring race into it, but my race is always brought into it) and was talked about for wearing cowboys boots, and liking country music from all ethnicities it sucks cause you kinda feel like you don’t fit anywhere.
People makes fun of folks who wears boots because they are insecure or can't afford them, so they got to bring somebody on their level of insecurities. It makes you stand out wearing cowboy boots.
Awesome advice! My son is only nine and he already says “thank you” when someone calls him weird. I’m so proud of him. I love my boots. When someone makes fun of me for them, I just wait to walk through something inappropriate for tennis shoes. Then I quietly offer them help
I was a little afraid about that, but I realized that I'll buy it with my money, I'll like it, so if someone has something to say, go ahead, I don't mind
Hey Jeremiah, I’m from Illinois. My dad is from the valley in Texas. Growing up he always wear his cowboy hat and his boots. When I was a teen that didn’t catch my attention till I turned 25 years old. When I first bought my boots. I was embarrassed.. it’s been 10 years now and never looked back.where I’m from majority of my race ( Mexican) , wear boots. I even wear my boots in the office. My kids and wife they also have boots. You don’t have to have a horse or be a bull rider to wear them. If that’s your taste wear the hell out of them. I just bought myself some caimán brown cowboy boots. I’m looking at them as I type. Damn I got some nice boots. Lol.
Wore mine for the first time yesterday they used to be my grandfather and i was worried about being made fun of for wearing them to school but everyone ended up complimenting them and some laughed but I remembered what u said and just laughed with them thanks man!
Honor you grandpa... I think its wonderful to wear them lifes to short to worry about others in the end we all live for ourselves as long as the Lord has us here on this planet.
The funny part is, as a high schooler, all the ladies give me compliments about my boots, most of them. Great video, always used to get made fun of in elementary because of my boots. Keep up the awesome work!! 👍✌️
Lots of boys wore cowboy boots when I went to school. But for some reason, I was afraid to wear my boots at school. Even though I knew I wouldn't have been made fun of for wearing them. The Northeastern States are most likely where kids would be made fun of for wearing cowboy boots. Well that I can think of at least.
I felt like this when I started wearing them to college in the Northeast too. Eventually I stopped worrying about it though because they were comfortable and I liked how they looked
I am from the northeast too. I do see men wearing boots - but rarely obvious western style. A few women here and there do...my first inspiration to buy a pair when I was younger was when I saw a woman wearing a long fitted denim shirt, black leggings, and a black pair of cowboy boots. I thought she looked great. Odd that more people don’t wear them here....we do have western wear stores. There is a rodeo in my state, and plenty of horses and rural areas.
Im from the northeast but live out west now the boots everyone wear up there are unlaced timbs and ive been wearing them my whole life and i saw my buddy wearing some ariats and i gave him shit for them he told me to try them on. Yea i went to cavenders the next day and got my own. Dont knock em till ya try em💁🏽♀️
Putting yourself down isn't the answer. Hold yourself with confidence, and don't give a damn what they think. Tell them when they start buying your clothes you'll give a shit about what they think.
I wear cowboy boots and I live on the Westcoast. I rarely see another guy wear cowboy boots but I keep wearing my boots everyday. I feel much more confident in my cowboy boots and I usually get compliments wearing my cowboy boots. Because it’s so unusual to see a man in cowboy boots on the westcoast, I know I get some looks. I honestly think there are other guys who want to wear cowboy boots but are too scared to wear them. I like wearing my boots with a two inch riding heel. I love the extra height! Yes, stay positive, laugh at yourself and know that you’re a real man wearing boots. Love the videos, Jeremiah!
Thanks Mike! That's a great attitude. I think a lot of people are curious about them too but are too insecure to try. They don't know what they're missing!!
Just came across this. Love the making fun of yourself first routine. Works every time but sometimes you have to nearly take yourself apart before they get tired. It's all about6 them being insecure and basically enviuous of you. I spent about 3 decades in the elementary school classroom. As a student in school I was bullied. What I realized about bullies in teaching youngsters was that all bullies are insecure. I realized this in a tragiioc situation. A bully was in full bore in my classroom (Oh yeah- better you should know I taiught art so I wasn't their regular teacher). I of course asked him to stop but he wouldn't and I did the next thing on the list. I called him out by pinpointing for all to see his insecurity. (It was obvious to me). It was tragic because I destroyed the kid. Had I taken him aside and spoke directly, it would helped him and probably saved him. This is way bigger than boots as you have pointed out. Keep it coming.
About 20 years ago, I had a couple of "culture club" looking guys make a snide comment and laugh. I responded by saying "that if they were to give up the pink hair, girly looks and start standing up to pee that they could start wearing big boy boots". They gave me the bird and rushed to their VW bug. P.S.: I know that I have issues.
I can’t control folks who laugh at me wearing cowboy boots. But I just look at other people wearing boots and nobody’s really laughing at them because it’s who they are. So I took a look and realized that nobody was really laughing at me for wearing cowboy boots if I wore them a lot. They might do a lot of laughing with me or at me if I do something dumb but cowboy boots aren’t part of the equation. It’s become part of who I am. The people who zero in on my cowboy boots to laugh at-they aren’t worth being “friends” and I have as little to do with them as I can.
I live in Iowa, and although it is west of the Mississippi, I get mixed emotions. I also wear Jordan's, because I wear what I want, not what others think I should...
Thanks for the good advice for guys (and gals) who are sensitive to the remarks and mannerisms directed at them from people who are expressing their own insecurities...personally I really enjoy the looks and practical nature of cowboy boots (and I rarely care what others think of my style preferences)
I was 16 when I got my first pair of cowboyboots, I got more confident but since I moved to Germany I don't have friends wearing 'em and I don't see the guys wearing them aroud, so I'm trying to dress properly (wearing boots) again ;) Thank u for ur videos !
I've been laughed at for wearing my lid and my boots here in downtown Toronto. It doesn't bother me one bit cause I could easily make fun of what those people are wearing. I LOVE Country Music and I am a Cowboy forever!
Thanks for making this video. I was nervous about wearing cowboy boots when I bought my first pair because I didn’t know anyone else who wore them. I was afraid of the flack I might receive. Fast forward to present day, I love wearing them and I’m always looking for another pair!
i wear my MAGA hat and im hispanic, it takes away most of the ammo for people to say something to me. no one will even pay attention to my boots. problem solved.
Perfect! haha When you lay everything out on the table, people aren't as comfortable confronting you because they know you have confidence in who you are. Good stuff. Thanks for the comment
I can relate to this video a little bit we have some cowboys in my school but I don’t always fully relate to them cause I’m a old soul cowboy and there not I were lots of things people like to target me for like belt buckles and round toe boots but I don’t ever listen to them cause it’s the same ol crap but it does get annoying when they don’t shut up bout the things I like
I'll admit I once made fun of my friend for wearing cowboy boots. I think I said something like "hey nice elf shoes hahaha". Well what happened? About 6 months later I bought my own "elf" shoes. A pair of brown Justins. I realized I was just jealous that they looked so cool.
My answer is always a lot simpler. “If you don’t like them, then don’t wear them. What I wear doesn’t affect you none so don’t you worry about it.” Never had anyone know what to answer with after that.
I'm from southern California and me and my best friend both of us got made fun of for wearing boots and listening to country music. Now years later I see the same people going to country festivals and wearing boots. So I count that as an ultimate win.
Haha yeah boots at festivals are trending right now. Seeing brand new boots at those things makes me realize how fickle some people are. You're right, the ultimate win is always staying true to yourself
I took a while for people to get used to my cowboy boots but I just stuck through till no one cared I’ve been wearing them for 3 years now and just picked up a new pair yesterday 👍🇨🇦
My very young friend (19) asked me, what the hell was I wearing, and that he would never wear anything like that (boots). I was mostly smiling, knowing he was 10yrs younger than me. So I responded "Well yeah, when I was your age, I was wearing freakin' Converses, so I'll just cut you some slack." Now I would never wear Converses, nor any other shoes than boots (nowadays just Cowboy ones which my taste for footwear evolved from Chelsea boots). When I turned into Western boots, I needed to update my jeans collection as well to go with them (still in progress). I'd say that at the same time I grew out of Slim fit, which was the only style for jeans I'd wear for about 10 years. Now I prefer "Regular taper" (Levi's 502) or Slim bootcuts (just got my first bootcuts, Diesel Zatiny's, and I'll definitely get another pair). Looks fantastic paired with Western boots: very rock'n'roll-ish (which is my goal here), and makes Cowboy boots easier to put on. Even though no one is wearing bootcut jeans nor Cowboy boots here in Europe, I do. It's been kind of a dream for a long time now, and recently got my first pair and in a couple of weeks i'll order my second pair (building a collection here). Can't go back. Never fell in love so hard with a clothing item before!
I completely understand! All you need is boots. Your friend will come around... Just wait! Then he'll be asking you what jeans to wear with them and you'll be sharing your style! These things always come around haha
My answer to any comment like that is showing a wide, loving smile and saying "Thank you, I value your opinion, stranger person. I value it a lot" . Then I look away and never look back.
I've never been bullied and boots are not only a cowboy thing it doesn't matter where you come from it doesn't matter if you call yourself "country" or not if you like the way cowboy boots look wear them everyone has their own style be yourself
Usually people are pretty impressed with them. They are stylish and make your outfit sharper. People who have the nerve to say something are jealous of your confidence. Swag around a little when you wear them. Be proud!!
I'm 45 years old, been wearing cowboy boots since I was a toddler. I've lived in Florida, Oklahoma, and North Carolina. Never once has anyone ever said anything out of the way about my boots. In fact, I never even knew there were people that took issue with it until I saw this video.
Overwhelmingly I get compliments. I live in upstate South Carolina and grew up on and now manage a cow and calf operation. In my teens I didn’t want to look like I had anything to do with cattle and wore sperries and polo. When the real world started I came back and settled down and started wearing boots for the first time in 5 years. That was six years ago. Overwhelmingly I get compliments or little kids telling their parents “look at the cowboy!” I’ve had two people say I “came out of the Wild West” and last year at a mall an emo type asked me if I had the horses in the back. Looked her dead in the eye and told her I sure did, and if she wanted to see.
haha great story! Mostly compliments here too. I made this video for the young folks out there thinking about getting into the great world of boots. Hopefully more stick with it!
I’ve never actually worn cowboy boots until recently. I’m always after really nice footwear and I got tired of just wearing sneakers (excluding Chuck Taylors because those are TIMELESS). I picked up my first pair of cowboy boots from a friend who wears them RELIGIOUSLY. Let me just say, it changed my view on ALL footwear in general. The most comfortable piece of footwear I have ever worn. And let me get to the best part: NO LACES. Comfortable, stylish, and no laces needed. I love them so much. Plus a lot of the 80s bands (hard rock, glam rock, metal etc) were rocking cowboy boots on stage. They’re amazing!
It's definitely not a problem for everyone and I think it's something that comes with age too. Some young folks are just unsure and I don't want them to become discouraged in wearing their boots
If I've learnt anything over the years, it's that there's always someone who going to hate on you for the way you are the way you dress or music you listen to, it doesn't matter what you do you can't win with some people so the best thing you can do is be yourself, the right people will love you for you. To he'll with the ones who don't, life's to short to live for others
Hi, I don’ Care either what some people think.I live in New York. So you don’t see many people wearing Cowboy Boots. The Friends I Hang Out With Wear Cowboy Boots. I just went to a Club Party in a Hall. About 6 Of us dressed in Suits Were Wearing our Dress Cowboy Boots. But out walking the Mall by me you do see people looking down at my Cowboy Boots with a Strange Look. I don’t care because I love the Cool look of my boots.
i love to wear my boots but here in the uk people do have issues with anything western themed 😢 but ill keep wearing my cowboy boots 'cos they're super comfy
I like wearing cowboy boots. I am a girl, and I wouldn't say I have been bullied before. But one of my friends doesn't really like them very much. But I think that's her personal opinion and I can do and wear whatever the hell I want.
And I thought I was the only one being made fun of for wearing cowboy boots. I get made fun of quite a bit, especially if I'm wearing snakeskin boots. I'm told "you're not a cowboy, don't wear cowboy boots" or "yeehaw, ridem cowboy." I got news for that, I wear whatever the fucck I want.
I live in NH but not far from Boston. Its not very common around here to wear cowboy boots, never mind a cowboy hat. I wear both and get nothing but compliments, but im a 47 year old man. Actually I feel I get a bit more respect for my gentleman like looks and attire. Ive never rode a horse or tended cattle but just love the western look and what it stands for. I wore boots when I was younger but had apprehensions among my peers because it wasn't very common, and more often than not I would put the boots aside. I wish I was confident enough to stick with it then along with my hat. Sometimes as a younger person I would get the " wheres your horse tex" or something along those lines, but never really bullied. I must say it took a little courage to start wearing my hat which I only started wearing about 4-5 years ago. I get a ton of compliments on my hats now! Always wanted to wear a hat when I was younger but didn't have the confidence, what a shame! If you decide to wear boots, wear them with confidence and own it. You'll be fine and may even be quite surprised how many nice compliments you get.
interesting channel! i have been a proud cowboy boot wearer since i was 16 growing up in new york city... i have been wearing them ever since with everything from suits and tuxedos to jeans and khakis. over the years, i've only owned two pairs of "regular" dress shoes - but that was when i was in my 20s and still thinking i needed to conform to the corporate culture of a company i was working at at the time (the late 90s). but not since then. i've worn cowboy boots (nicely polished and maintained ones) to weddings, job interviews, funerals, and other corporate events where a more traditional business man would only wear dress loafers. i've embraced my unique style of looking like a "corporate cowboy." the look confounds some people - and it surprises a few more when i tell them i'm a complete liberal when the "corporate cowboy" look is something most associate with greedy rich oil men of texas... so that's my whole, suited and booted story... keep up the nice work...
Thanks for sharing Dennis! I think a lot of people make quick judgements about boot wearing folks. It's kind of weird. Just because you wear boots doesn't mean you believe one thing or another. Generalizers are a pain but it's their loss... they don't get to know and learn from as many people as we do. Thanks again man
I got bullied almost every day and I live in the south!! (South Carolina) and I'm going into highschool so it's only gonna get worse😕 i need you're help Jeremiah!
I think the best answer is that “they look great” and “how much energy are you investing in looking at my feet, dude?” They are the best dress foot-ware. I’ve had my favorite pair for almost 20 years and I expect it will sat another 20.
generally im the only one who dresses up any around here- out of everyone in the neighborhood, im the only one wearing a button down and dress slacks. what i do to feel more confident at standing out, is think to myself 'man, if someone from out of town came here, they'd think i was the top dog around here!' so i start standing straighter, and act like i really am that important person, and i start to stop caring if people stare at me or say something about my clothes. i guess you could say i pretend, and that helps me overcome being nervous and self conscious. i dont know if that will help anyone, but it certainly helps me!!
Good for you Christopher nothing wrong with being dressed up and I'm guessing you wear cowboy boots too. Keep up that confidence!

Great story and advise! It is distinctive but people respect a distinctive look after awhile. Especially if you do good work! Thanks for sharing
I’m far beyond the age of caring what anyone thinks about me. As for the younger men in the group, believe me it’s better to stand out in the crowd than to be just like everyone else. Who cares what some fella thinks? We care what the ladies think, and trust me, they notice.
They notice alright!

Really guys who wear western boot should learn to walk in them without clumping around. But they are great for kicking ass. Slow dancing.bull riding. Bronc riding. And busting your ass in because they are leather soled. So have rubber no slip glued on at the cobbler shop. Just a word from the wise.

I spent 6 months in Spain, I used my cowboy boots very often. The girls were amazed, they're not used to men who wear boots. I didn't expect that because I'm from northern Mexico, we like cowboy boots and we're used to them. But it's all about confidence and what you project to the people.

😂😂
I don’t give the energy to think about if someone doesn’t like what I wear but actually fuels me to wear it more.

Bingo. People do stop noticing/caring
I like this guy. He’s very positive and very reasonable💯
I live in Iowa, and although it is west of the Mississippi, I get mixed emotions. I also wear Jordan's, because I wear what I want, not what others think I should...
That's the only way to go 👍
Thanks for the good advice for guys (and gals) who are sensitive to the remarks and mannerisms directed at them from people who are expressing their own insecurities...personally I really enjoy the looks and practical nature of cowboy boots (and I rarely care what others think of my style preferences)
True that! I feel the same way
I was 16 when I got my first pair of cowboyboots, I got more confident but since I moved to Germany I don't have friends wearing 'em and I don't see the guys wearing them aroud, so I'm trying to dress properly (wearing boots) again ;) Thank u for ur videos !
Nice. I don't have people near me who wear boots right now either. That's why I think this online community is so cool. Thanks for watching
I've been laughed at for wearing my lid and my boots here in downtown Toronto. It doesn't bother me one bit cause I could easily make fun of what those people are wearing. I LOVE Country Music and I am a Cowboy forever!
Nothing wrong with wearing a good pair of cowboy boots.....I love your videos Jeremiah! ❤️
Damn straight! Thanks Doc!
Thanks for making this video. I was nervous about wearing cowboy boots when I bought my first pair because I didn’t know anyone else who wore them. I was afraid of the flack I might receive. Fast forward to present day, I love wearing them and I’m always looking for another pair!
It’s crazy how in places where cowboy boots aren’t common, people tend to bully you for your boots. SMH
You dealt with those issues from those types of people well. Great Positive Lessons Jeremiah! Great Song too, LOL.
Thanks Jim!
i wear my MAGA hat and im hispanic, it takes away most of the ammo for people to say something to me. no one will even pay attention to my boots. problem solved.
Yeah buddy! If you’re worried about people hating on your boots, try wearing a MAGA hat! 😂
Perfect! haha When you lay everything out on the table, people aren't as comfortable confronting you because they know you have confidence in who you are. Good stuff. Thanks for the comment
Oliver Vilca beautiful. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I like your style.
I wear rompers with my maga hat
That’s probably the case with everyone who makes fun of boots! They’re just jealous. Glad you got them
My answer is always a lot simpler.
Cool! what did you get??
I got a nice pair of Durango’s from my local tack shop
These ones to be exact goo.gl/images/ooEyHm
Luckily I live in Georgia where cowboy boots are pretty common! Love my boots❤👍
Not a problem on New Mexico and in Texas, instead complimented.
Amen.
Usually people are pretty impressed with them. They are stylish and make your outfit sharper. People who have the nerve to say something are jealous of your confidence. Swag around a little when you wear them. Be proud!!
Great advice!
I have been wearing cowboy boots for 7 years... never had a comment neither in the UK nor abroad. Loads of looks though.
Glad to hear it! I imagined folks in the UK being tough on that sort of thing.
I'm 45 years old, been wearing cowboy boots since I was a toddler. I've lived in Florida, Oklahoma, and North Carolina. Never once has anyone ever said anything out of the way about my boots. In fact, I never even knew there were people that took issue with it until I saw this video.
Confidence and fell good. That's exactly why I wear them...
And it doesn't matter what anybody thinks.
0:20 😂😂😂 From my experience it's called jealousy/ hating because they don't look handsome & atractive as someone wearing boots💯😉✌
No doubt! Jealousy is the reason a lot of the time
Maybe some people see you funny, but many of them see you as a special and talented person, and I see you as a genius person
Thanks Yusuf! I appreciate that. You're very kind
I like when they are broken in and feel like a leather sock!!!!!
You're getting it! Sounds like you're a convert!!
I got my first pair in 1963 i was 9 years old,in New York ,i've never had a problem.
Wow I'm surprised. I thought everything was ok in NYC. Way to keep rocking them!
Get a Stetson for bootwalking in the malls. They'll think you're actually from Texas. "Don't mess with Texas!"
i love to wear my boots but here in the uk people do have issues with anything western themed 😢
but ill keep wearing my cowboy boots 'cos they're super comfy
All you have to say is “these boots cost more then your rent so I wouldn’t be talking”
my boots were 70 dollars at a rural king🤨
Wear them with confidence!!
I get bullied for not wearing cowboy boots
I like wearing cowboy boots. I am a girl, and I wouldn't say I have been bullied before. But one of my friends doesn't really like them very much. But I think that's her personal opinion and I can do and wear whatever the hell I want.
Exactly. That's what I'm talking about. Wear whatever you want!
It's very strange. Like it's the only footwear that has to go with a job haha. People need to get over themselves. Good for you. Keep it up man
I live in NH but not far from Boston.
Thanks for sharing your story! I find the same thing now. Mostly compliments from people
Living in South Dakota, everyone wears boots. Even the Injuns. Dealership salespeople where boots. Boots are everywhere.
HEAVEN!
Glubbdubdrib the injuns!!!
Injuns are the real cowboys
interesting channel! i have been a proud cowboy boot wearer since i was 16 growing up in new york city... i have been wearing them ever since with everything from suits and tuxedos to jeans and khakis. over the years, i've only owned two pairs of "regular" dress shoes - but that was when i was in my 20s and still thinking i needed to conform to the corporate culture of a company i was working at at the time (the late 90s). but not since then. i've worn cowboy boots (nicely polished and maintained ones) to weddings, job interviews, funerals, and other corporate events where a more traditional business man would only wear dress loafers. i've embraced my unique style of looking like a "corporate cowboy." the look confounds some people - and it surprises a few more when i tell them i'm a complete liberal when the "corporate cowboy" look is something most associate with greedy rich oil men of texas... so that's my whole, suited and booted story... keep up the nice work...
Join wrestling in high school.
strangers: hey there cowboy, what'd ya lose your horse?
me: *enters dead eye mode*
I’ve gotten the “hows the snake in your boot?” (It was clever and I chuckled)
hahaha same
I think the best answer is that “they look great” and “how much energy are you investing in looking at my feet, dude?”
They are the best dress foot-ware. I’ve had my favorite pair for almost 20 years and I expect it will sat another 20.
