Thank you! Appreciate your comments and thoughtful suggestions. I’m thinking about your Jaki idea and will get back to you about that. I think you’re onto something there though and I am also interested in digging more into his playing!

@5-minutedrumlessons ohhh, im looking forward to. But take your time, i know its hard to make such a video. I was just mentioning him, because he isnt covered anywhere...totally behins the curtains if you ask me. I like such drummers.. John Densmore, Charlie Watts, Jaki etc.. they all had small kits and jazz background and they all were so humble, but their psichadelyc approach to drumming left its mark. 😀The Doors would have never been the Doors without John... And the rolling stones had just the perfect drummer all the time.
They were all so minimalistic... Densmore played his snare heads to death, never changed it, and played without bottom heads on the toms, i wonder why "concert toms" are not more popular these days...i guess everybody wants that full sound. But this is another discussion. Keep it going, you seem like a very good guy 😀

What kind, and/or brand drumsticks are you using in this video?

Hi, thank you for the comment and question. Those are a plastic version of the wooden « hotrods », known as « blasticks », those are just the brand name names for them though, many different companies make a similar product. It’s basically several small pieces of wood, or as in this example plastic, held together with either tape or an adjustable plastic band. They are good for quieter practice or playing. I tend to prefer the wooden ones but they are expensive and start to deteriorate quickly, so I have a plastic pair as backup because for better for for worse, they’ll last forever!
