    We started out with one of those smaller Intex pools about two years ago but it was more of a “test” pools for the kids to see how they did and that one had a cartridge filter and it was HORRIBLE but I didn’t wanna spend the money on a sand filter yet for that little pool last year we upgraded and got a 22 FT and I think 52” deep pool best way from Costco and it came with a sand filter and that thing is M A G I C for sure helps a lot when you have well water as well! We also do not take down our pool all year either it is better for your pool I hear to keep it from cracking, leaking etc. I do love all your pool videos!

      Yes, I think taking those type pools down and storing them actually does more harm. I am thankful ours lasted through that Texas freeze. Thanks for watching and supporting us. We appreciate it. ❤

      @@The5MFamily I was a little worried leaving ours out in the Minnesota winters but I left 12” of water in it and nothing happened 🤞🏻

      Our 1st Coleman we purchased when the neighbor moved and it lasted 8 years. Just had to purchase a new one, leave it up year round also with freezing temps.

    Coleman, Intex and many others are both manufactured by Bestway.

    Thankyou for all the good information..about how much sand did you buy?

    • @The5MFamily
      @The5MFamily  3 роки тому

      I don't remember. I just followed the recommendations on my filter. Different size filters require different amounts of sand.

    Great video. Do you add Clorox algaecide with clarifier as a maintenance or just when it’s cloudy? And if so, how much do you put in and how often? Thanks.

    • @The5MFamily
      @The5MFamily  3 роки тому

      I use it as for both. During the hotter months I use it when I start to see algae or slim. I probably use it once a week. Depending on your pool size will determine how much. I would follow the directions on the back of the bottle..

    What do you use to stabilize the pool legs?

    • @The5MFamily
      @The5MFamily  3 місяці тому

      We do not put anything under the legs. That is a personal preference.

    Your videos are so informative! I just bought the 22x52 Coleman Power Steel Pool. And like most I already know the cartridge filter isn’t going to do the job. So I am going to look for a sand filter today. But I was wondering what size hose is on your pool? Mine is still in the box because its 32 degrees here. But the pool place here said I need to know the sizes to determine what filter to buy. Any help is greatly appreciated ❤️

    • @The5MFamily
      @The5MFamily  2 роки тому +1

      The hoses that go from the pool to the pump are 1.25 inches, and the hoses that go from the pump to the sandfilter to the pool are 1.5 inches. I'm not sure of the length though. Hope this helps!

    Hi first time buying a pool, I have the coleman powersteel 18ft x 48in 6,000 gallons and have the original pool filter and my pool keeps getting green evry other week. I know i need a better one but I have no idea which one. What do you have I was told something about 3/4 hp to 1hp I have no idea what that means please help 🙏

    • @The5MFamily
      @The5MFamily  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, those pumps that come with the pools do not work. I have a 1300 gph Intex Sand Filter and pump. Which means it pumps and filters 1300 gallons per hour. Here is a link to one that is 1600 GPH. This is a heck of a price, so if you can swing it do it! Also, the good thing about Intex is their parts are interchangeable with Coleman, so no need to buy a conversion kits! Hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

    What’s the best sand filter to buy

    • @The5MFamily
      @The5MFamily  3 місяці тому

      If you have a Coleman, I would suggest an Intex Sand Pump and Filter. You can google your size pool, and it should show what size pump to buy.

    Should you stay out of pool while adding chemicals?

      We recommend that you follow the instructions specific to the chemical brand you are using when it comes to this.

    Do you think you Could somehow if you wanted convert the shape to a oval or a rectangle

    • @The5MFamily
      @The5MFamily  3 роки тому

      No. The way the legs and top frame is designed it won't form into another shape. If you did, the stress from the legs not being they way they were designed will tear up the frame.
