I've been binge watching your videos.... Couldn't get to date for the life of me.... So super happy to watch .... Also... Love the accent.... It relaxes a lot
I have watched many of your videos, & enjoyed all of them. This one was one of my favorites since it was more of a tutorial. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have never done embeds, and now I will certainly buy a few fall molds and give them a try!
sorry me again last important question - do you insulate your soap molds ( not embeds etc) if you put sugar in the mix - i have read it can crack and have other issues so I dont know if you are suppose to insulate or put in fridge or ??? REALLY appreciate your help your videos are my favourite thank you for inspiring all of us!
Thank you once again Ellen, for yet another Fabulous tutorial! I’ve learned more from you than I did with any of the classes I’ve taken! Would you ever consider teaching and offering classes via Udemy? You’d do amazingly well! I would definitely sign up! Also, the one thing (maybe only thing I really learned that was helpful in my online class) was to put a rubber band around my embed molds to help keep them stable and upright when filling. They also encouraged adding several bands to the giant tube embed molds which can separate at the seams. Though yours did great no matter, but thought I’d mention it, as I don’t have much else to offer. Lol! I’m still learning. Everything you do is graceful and elegant.
love this video - I am new to soap making I made your recipe #3 and it is wonderful - I wanted to know in your opinion, did you prefer it to recipe #2 in the same video - or which was your fav? I dont need lots of soap, its just for my family so I would like to just make 1 batch thank you so much!!!!
Your embeds are so pretty. I can't wait to get back to making cold process soaps. I didn't make any this summer because my kids are always stuck up my butt, and I didn't want to take any chances. We made some melt and pour this summer. Our local library let me do a melt-and-pour children's activity for their summer programs they put on.
Hi Ellen...absolutely Love your channel and all your gorgeous creations...serendipity...I just made a bunch of embeds...tiny little molds indeed...I found using a syringe..like the one you used in a lip balm video, works wonderfully to fill small embed molds...
I'm just starting out and I've been afraid of making soap. I just want to make things for my family so we know the ingredients. Soap seems so intimidating to me. Thank you for videos like this one.
What a fantastic video for new soapers! Very detailed and informative 😃 I have the little pumpkin molds too! I made wax melts with them AND I was LITERALLY just looking at the leaf mold at Hobby Lobby about an hour ago! Lol!! I was like hummm🤔 I like them but it think that’s going to be tedious to pour so I passed on them. You have patience! 🥰
I really appreciate all the advice and tips you give in your videos. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you 😊 Btw, the colour combo for these autumn soaps are beautiful 🍁🍂
You made me laugh today Ellen. I don’t like to waste anything and do pretty much the same. Just made my 100 % raw goat’s milk dog shampoo and patchouli soap today and to keep the milk cold Put my pitcher inside ice bath and that water went to my mint plants. Beautiful soaps. I am done with fall soaps. Waiting on my soaper choice shipment to start of the other products since I am planning to release my collection on 9/21. Can’t wait to see more of your creations
My imbeds all seem to lighten up with soap ash. Should I spray with alcohol? Or maybe I’m soaping too hot. I would appreciate your suggestions. Love your videos! ❤️
That ice cream scoop is my saving grace! Son is always asking where the ice cream scoop is...LOL...try hard to keep them all separate. I bought mine years ago from the Amish. My mom has her dad's. My brother "called it". Darn it. Not made like they used to. Still good, but not as phenom as the 1900's!
Ok, I’m not making soap, but love your videos! I had to order some bars!😉 my son was talking about some company for men that does handmade soaps, so I ordered some of yours! Let him see what real handmade soap is about!😉
Hi Ellen, what happen with the Aloe Vera juice? You always seem to have aloe in your magical pot, lol. Where do you get your Aloe from again. I know you showed the container but now I can’t find the video.
11:28 I was wondering about usage rates as well, I noticed on bescented a lot of the FO's are super high % for cat9. I thought maybe they were typos, never seen such high usage% on other sites or maybe I'm just not paying close attention...
I really enjoy it when you talk through the soap-making process. It helps me as a beginner. Your creations are beautiful!
Thanks 💕🍁❣️

I do put a lid and blanket on my loaves to force gel phase. But it's good to take a peek a few hours in and make sure they aren't overheating...
Hi! Thank you for this information loaded video! I love the peachy colors!
Thanks for watching 🍁💕
Very pretty colors together. I love the fall and these are perfect for fall. Thank you for sharing 🍁🍂💕

Yes, those tiny leaves take a fluid batter and some patience🤣🍁

Yes❣️ I hate to waste💕
Which is best for embeds, CP or Clear melt and pour base? Wouldn’t the colors be brighter with M&P?
I use both, it just depends on the soap molds and design...
My imbeds all seem to lighten up with soap ash. Should I spray with alcohol? Or maybe I’m soaping too hot. I would appreciate your suggestions. Love your videos! ❤️
Spritzing with alcohol should help..

@@EllenRuthSoap I’m positive he will❣️

May I add the silk to warm melted hard oils when using ice for my lye water? 🌷
No, it won't melt in the oils.
💛💛💛
Hi Ellen, what happen with the Aloe Vera juice? You always seem to have aloe in your magical pot, lol. Where do you get your Aloe from again. I know you showed the container but now I can’t find the video.
I use aloe juice in some soaps, but not all... It makes great soap! There's a link in my amazon store for the aloe juice I use.
Do you use the coconut oil and cocoa butters that don’t have the smell?
No, I personally love the natural scent of both of those. But you could use refined & deodorized versions of both😉
11:28 I was wondering about usage rates as well, I noticed on bescented a lot of the FO's are super high % for cat9. I thought maybe they were typos, never seen such high usage% on other sites or maybe I'm just not paying close attention...
Whenever the usage rates are super high like that, I use 5% as my default amount.
Hello! I want to use another oil than hempseed...can you tell me which oil I can use?
If you change an oil, you'll need to run the numbers thru soap calc to make sure the lye is the same.
You are awesome where did you start at taking classes? Or are you self taught. You are so easy going. OMG 😱
Thank you🥰 I'm mostly self taught, lots of books and online tutorials over the years...
Where do you get your bulk lye and ingredients from?
Lye is from Amazon or Essential Depot, and I use Soapers Choice for mose bulk oils
What is your lye concentration for the #3 recipe?
Recipe and amounts are in the description box
@@EllenRuthSoap I guess I must have missed the Lye concentration amount.
Can you put tussah silk in lotion too?
Yes, but it needs to be liquid silk 😉
Where do you buy your lye?
I buy it in bulk: amzn.to/3RAWfPX
When adding sugar Is there a “too much” amount, Like the rule of 1 tsp of sodium lactate per lb of oil?
Also if you use sugar in your lye would you not want to use citric acid or use both?
1 tsp per lb of oils is a good amount👍
I haven't played with citric acid yet in soap, but will do so in the future.
Thank you!
I am a happy beginner 😅
