    The only real tuner among this lot is the Dynojet Power Vision. All others are piggyback systems that try to fool your ECM into seeing something else than is really there. Piggyback systems may result in error codes in your ECM, and may eventually get your ECM to prevent you from starting the bike up in an effort to protect it from permanent damage. Removing the piggyback system will restore the ECM, but you may be running very very lean at that point.
    The FP3 is a distant second with some actual tuning capabilities, but is very limited in comparison to the Power Vision, and the end result will be far from ideal, often resulting in a 30% lower engine output in the everyday RPM range compared to the Dynojet.
    Other real tuners not mentioned in this lineup are the ThunderMax and TTS tuners. If you're investing money in getting your motorcycle to perform better, get it dyno tuned. It's the best investment you can make to gain performance.

    If you're going to spend thousands on performance parts, the smart thing to do is have it dyno tuned by a reputable tuner. TTS Master tune is the best, nothing stays on the bike but the new map.

    Disclaimer says "Legal in California only for racing vehicles", but I read somewhere recently that after 7,500 miles you can register the bike as used. I think once that happens you do not have to smog anymore, which also tells me you don't need their carb crap anymore. Does that mean this is ok to use on the road?

    June 2019 I bought the v&h fuelpak lcd. contacted v&h for a map.As soon as they new i did not have THEIR intake or pipes, i was on the back burner . they didn,t give a shit about me .took them 10 weeks to get me a map. when i got it installed.... it lasted just a few days . the bike would not idle bellow 1900 , it would shut off going down the road. when power was applied it would cough & backfire. contacted v&h they said my bike was the problem . but when i took it off the bike ....it ran as before the fuel pak ..... just fine. my last contact with them was aug 29 2019. it is now april 10 2020 . no response from those idiots. My advise.. stay far away from vance and hines junk !!!!

    • @RevZilla

      Yes, you probably don't even need to use autotune. With the Vance & Hines FP3 or another fuel controller, you just download the fuel map for your given exhaust. The maps already assume a free-flowing air filter. -DrewZilla

    I've just bought a 2004 fuel injected Fatboy twin cam. The previous owner had Vance & Hines Short Shots installed.
    Along with the tremendous noise, the bike backfires and pops quite a lot, especially on the overrun. It also hesitates sometimes when applying the throttle.
    Is this normal or does the fuel map need adjusting?
    If so, what is the best product for me?
    Great videos btw! Thanks!

    • @RevZilla

      Sounds like the bike is running lean, as is expected if the previous owner installed the Shortshots without also adjusting the fuel map. I would definitely recommend a fuel tuner. I'd either go with the Vance & Hines FuelPak (no PC required) or the Power Commander V (PC required). -DrewZilla

      +Mariano C Any bike can benefit from fuel management, even a stock bike. However, if you're just doing a slip-on, you don't absolutely need a fuel controller. If you later install an aftermarket air cleaner, then you would want to consider a fuel controller. -DrewZilla

    which tuner for my 2000 FLHRCI? - I'm in the process of replacing the Magnetti-Marelli induction with a HorsePower Inc system (Delphi type). I currently have a Power Commander III USB but would also like the ability to tune it myself vs a dyno tuner which I've used several times in the past. The bike has a 95" BB kit, Rinehart TD's, headwork w/ larger int valves/springs, hydro cam conversion, 1.725 ratio roller rockers, etc, etc. FYI - I don't have problem using my laptop to fine-tune my bikes after they've been tuned on a dyno (DynoJet) but if I can avoid the dyno, hook me up!! I have a PC-V on my '03 FLHRSEI2 but it's not much different from the PC-III USB

      This is gonna require a custom solution. Since you're changing up the fuel injection system, you'll need to call DynoJet directly (1-800-992-4993). Luckily, they'll be able to troubleshoot with you to find the best solution. We just can't guarantee a solution on our own. -DrewZilla

Y pipes on there...The bike isn't running as well since I switched out the pipes, even after trying several different maps with the FuelPak...I'm thinking that if I got a Powervision, I might be able to keep the pipes I have and put an end to the popping and throttle lag that I've been dealing with since installing the L.A.F.'s...Do you think the Powervision would help with these issues? • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 років тому

      +Will Concho It depends on the fuel controller. "Piggy-back" systems need to remain attached to function (Power Commander), whereas systems that actually "flash" or alter the ECU (onboard computer) can be removed once a map is loaded (Power Vision). Our favorite fuel controller for the 2016 Iron 883 is the Vance and Hines FuelPak FP3. Here's why:
      -Recalibrates ECM by flash tuning
      -Autotune feature for added tuning precision
      -Can display live sensor data while riding
      -Can be removed from bike if live data or autotuning is not needed
      The live data and autotuning are such awesome features, that I'd personally just leave it attached all the time. It's hidden anyway, so it's not like it's unsightly. -DrewZilla

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому

      If you have an iPhone or Android smart phone, the FP3 will be the most user friendly fuel tuner by far. It also has many convenient diagnostic tools. I know for a fact that you can tweak how much popping you want with the FP3. Quite a cool feature. -TeamZilla Chris

      RevZilla how do the FP3 and a power commander compare? Cost, functions, etc?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому

      The FP3 is a one-plug install that transmits data to your smart phone. In addition to auto-tuned fuel management and tuning, it allows you to customize settings on your bike like the amount of popping on deceleration. It also acts as a diagnostic tool. No PC required. The Power Commander V is a bit more of a complex install, requires a PC (not a Mac) and you must download tunes from their website and it is not an auto-tuner. Being that the FP3 is $399.99 and the Power Commander is $339.99, I think it is a no-brainer. You get a ton more functionality and ease of use out of the FP3. -TeamZilla Chris

      The Screamin' Eagle Pro Tuner is locked and can only be tuned at the Harley Dealer. With the FP3, you don't have to rely on the dealer. You can install and change fuel maps all by yourself using the FP3 smartphone app. The FP3 also allows live telemetry, so if you have your phone mounted on your bike, you can see live data (granted, that's a more technical feature that most people won't use). The FP3 also let's you read error codes. -DrewZilla

      RevZilla thanks for the reply, the FP3 definitely sounds like the more practical choice then, do they both perform the same functions & program the bike just as well as the other? From a performance stand point?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  6 років тому +1

      The FP3 will get you the best result without a dyno. If you're going to have your bike professionally dyno-tuned, Harley will want to use their own SE Pro Tuner. Other dyno shops probably use a Dynojet dyno and so would want to tune using a Power Vision or Power Commander. For you and your Sportster, I'd say the FP3 will be the best bet. -DrewZilla

    Now I'm totally confused also.. I got a flhtc 2012 . Cc103 , I usually have a rider with me.. ( 2 of us ). I just am a stage one bike. Slip on Cobras and air intake. So which is best for me. ??

    If I was to buy an Xied fuel management system are there any benefits from it or is it better to spend the extra cash and buy something along the lines of PC5. I want to replace my pipes and A/C on my 2012 iron.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 років тому

      +Luke Wharton The Xied just adds 8% more fuel everywhere. That's not really "tuning". If replacing pipes and air cleaner, I recommend you get the Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3 for Harley 07-13. -DrewZilla

    I have a 2018 Harley-Davidson Sportster 48 and want to do a Stage 1. Will a Screaming Eagle tuner work well with Vance & Hines slip-on pipes?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  5 років тому +1

      Yes, but that tuner can only be used by the techs at the dealer. I'd recommend using a tuner you can easily use yourself, such as the Vance & Hines FP3. -DrewZilla

      That's not true. You can use the screamin eagle tuner yourself. They give you the link to download the software to your laptop. You have to hook your laptop into your ecm though instead of Bluetooth like the fp3 does.

    • @69FOSTER
      @69FOSTER 5 років тому

      @@RevZilla @Zach Shiveley Thank you both for the response. I ask about a Screaming Eagle tuner for my Vance & Hines slip-ons because I understand I'd have to use a Screaming Eagle tuner on my bike in order for the warranty to remain valid, my Sportster 48 is four months old. The FP3 sounds like the best tuner to use, but I wouldn't know how to flash the bike anyway, so I'd have the dealer tech flash the bike. Is there any reason not to use a Screaming Eagle tuner for my 48? Wouldn't the SE help against decel backfiring and make the bike run better?

    What tuner would you recommend for a 2017 lowrider-s with thunderheads? I do plan on doing more work on the motor in the future but only have the exhaust now....Ive used the FP3 on my 16 sporty I traded in but is the power vision better? what would you recommend

    Hi Guys,
    I just bought a 2017 Lowrider S. I want to put an exhaust and tuner on it but the dealer is warning me that i will void my warranty. I believe they said it is less to due with the change in exhaust and more to do with the new mapping. I read below that if i remove the controller and put it back to stock then i have a stock ECU. I would like to avoid having to all this just to bring the bike into the dealer. Could you do a video addressing the Harley warranty and my options.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому

      We probably won't do a video, as those legal issues and grey areas are a bit too complex for us to cover. Honestly, the easiest thing to do is to use the Fuelpak FP3 to load the stock map before going to the dealer. It only takes about 5 minutes with a smartphone. -DrewZilla

    • @ljohnson9440
      @ljohnson9440 7 років тому

      Harley can see if you have tuned the bike even if you return the so called stock map.
