It feels like Jason Todd's Robin story all over again, like, DC presents this clearly traumatized child who was dehumanized his whole life, who acts accordantly to all the bad experiences that formed him as a person during his entire life, with no one actually willing to give them at first hand the help he clearly needs and the public immediately starts to hate him, calls him the worst Robin, compares him non-stop with his predecessor Robin (who clearly will be much more functional because, aside from already being much older, got to experience a better life, with better opportunities and a someway functional family life with caring parents), and finally will find pleasure in that traumatized boy being severely hurt and/or brutally murdered (another point in common they both have). People just doesn't change at all.
Yesss! ♥️🐦♥️🗡♥️ I'm so happy more fans are willing to understand Damian (Injustice did his image dirty-), cause he needs the love. 😭 He's complex, chaotic, funny, and someone I can relate to a lot.
injustice makes everyone dirty, when i started with my insterests in DC, the first opinion i saw was to DO NOT start to form my DC characters opinions with Injustice.
Am I the only one that finds Batman’s injustice intolerable like I didn’t think Damian or Superman. Was the problem. Batman is legitimately the psycho and injustice to me.
Damian is a lot like Peter capaldis doctor. Starts off a bitter man who can be rather off putting and killed someone. But as he learned empathy became a supportive grumpy old man kind of character that was rewarding for those who stuck it out.
15:23 --- Nope! In the older comics, it was shown that Bruce and Talia was actually more than a simple fling! He loves her and that feeling was very much mutual. There was many instances where Bruce described Talia to be the love of his life, and he was genuinely heartbroken when she broke up with him. If I remember correctly, they almost got married, even. Bruce loves her so much that he could immediately distinguish between her and her impostor by smell alone, claiming that she smells like Jasmin and Rose of taif. Fun fact, but not really; the original story of Damian would go vastly different. Talia would see how Bruce was so willing to risk his life for her and their baby, and she didn't want him to lose the part that she falls in love with in the first place--- the part that made Batman Bruce. So, she faked a miscarriage and gave Damian up for adoption. Talia's character assassination occurs as a propaganda against Arab post the 9/11 tragedy, along with Ra's al-Ghul and many others; many of their qualities got erased in favor of painting them as this one 2-dimensional villains. In fact, many of Damian's own upbringing was stolen from Talia, as she also struggles with choosing between her love for Batman as well as devotion for her father (Ra's). Talia wasn't cruel during her first appearance; she was studying medicine when she met Bruce, has shown extreme distaste in killing, and was overall a romantic. She cried when she was forced to kill, and was a victim herself (it was implied that Bane has sexually assaulted her). (I'm gonna go off tangent here) One thing that bothers me most is how DC, along with the fandom, seemingly eradicates all of the al-Ghuls defining traits and what makes them an antagonist and _not_ a villain--- Ra's is an eco-terrorist, though he values all lives and most importantly priorities the future. This can be seen in the comic, Ra's al-Ghul: One Bad Day, where he told Bruce that neither of their lives' are more important than Damian's, and allow the boy to grieve his father when Ra's was forced to kill him. Keep in mind that Ra's does love Bruce, to the point of seeing him as his son when he and Talia were engaged. However, due to their clashed methodology, Ra's had to end Bruce. I love Damian, so so much. He's my favorite character in DC, but his backstory also contradicts my *other* favorite characters, and that's genuinely frustrating.
This is an incredible video, I love the facts about his personality and all the info you found, soooo well made! This video and channel are so underrated 🥹
I love the video Damián is my favorite character and o can't find a really good video about him this is really good and I hope that you can make more videos about him ❤❤❤❤
I think the biggest problem with Damian is how he came. Like the moment he came he almost murdered Tim drake. And this is the problem with Damian is that he came in hurting characters we already like. I think if the writers wrote in a story where like Tim drake moved on kinda like dick Grayson did as nightwing where Tom actually got a new mantle or he retired as robin because he wants to live a normal life with Stephanie or whatever the case maybe and than Damian comes in the picture because this time batman does need a new robin than it could’ve worked
DAMIAN WAYNE is a Shakespearean tragic hero. Reminiscent of two legendary epic protagonists : 1. MORDRED Prince of Camelot forever torn between his father noble King Arthur ( Batman ) and his mother evil sorceress Morgana La Fey ( Talia Al Ghul ). 2. OCTAVIAN future Emperor of The Roman Empire, the legal heir of the great Julius Caesar ( Ra's Al Ghul ) and the son of his great grand niece the cunning Atia Of The Julii ( Talia Al Ghul ).
He’s my fav. Always liked him the best probably because I could relate to him. My parents were also selfish and cruel. Shaped by their own lives as well.
It’s so funny people hate Damian Wayne so much he is such of a well written character. The way he was raised made him the emotionless arrogant brat. But it lead to so much growth especially during the sick Grayson Batman run which I truly think was one of the most pivotal moments for him. Bruce is who Damian wants but dick Grayson is who he needs To understand Damian you have to understand his past to understand why he is who he is Damian running to give dick Grayson a hug is one of the most wholesome moments
Thanks for your excellent video analysis. I highly recommend to all fans the DC Black Label five part miniseries THE BOY WONDER by Juni Ba, a uniquely dark fairy tale yet deeply moving retelling of Damian Wayne's origin story which focuses on his relationships with Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, his mother Talia, his grandfather Ra's Al Ghul and his father Bruce Wayne.
Can't blame Damian too much really. Bruce deals with the loss of his parents. While, Damian, has both parents (sometimes) between Bruce getting in situations that gets him killed or presumed dead, and Fickle Assassin mom who also sometimes dies and then sets him up to die . Damian is just a kid that needs guidance, fortunately he has both parents in his life, unlike Bruce however that alone doesn't make his life easier given his attempts to live up to the Legacy of both his Mom and Dad at such a young age. I think the best guidance for Damian isn't in his parents, but the extended Batfamily as a whole, Like Alfred and Dick.
I also don’t know like when people judge Damian Wayne oh is a Wayne son of Bruce wayne and grandson of ra al ghul he always has a chip on his shoulder to be the greatest since birth his grandfather trained him with assassin to kill father said not to kill continued comparison to dick Bruce didn’t address him as a son in public didn’t give him his identity I even think he’s never cared for his son you see in movies Damian some times said blood son it’s because of his cold attitude towards Damian but he changed he is not a brat he loves raven and bat family he adapts he is just like his father
People who Actually Hate him are Either Dick,Tim Fan Boys who i bet or Adult i can't understand why people expect someone born and train to Kill to be Normal and it's not like Batman is the Best Father at the time and him being annoying that how Kids are People somtime i wonder if you guys ever being Kids
I'll be honest, I believe the reason why Damian Wayne became robin is to bond with his father. However, i don't believe Damien should be robbing because he gives off "main character energy" just like Batman, and two people with "main character energy" or egos can't work in an official partnership, which is why I also believe maybe Batman shouldn't have a robin.
