This video gives so much nostalgic vibes… I feel like I’m watching some random UA-cam video from 2009.
I miss hanging around game shops for hours. 😟
It’s so cool. Filmed in 2023 and yet you’ve managed to give a 90’s/early 2000 home video vibe! Great job!
lmfao
@@JLchevz check out old footage of Zelda releases. He’s correct 😅
Those vibes NEVER get old!! I've been doing launch events since 2003 (not including the Windows 95 launch). It is just awesome to stand in line with like-minded people. We had 5 people in line last night.... and as an old man I felt like the grandpa of them. They just cannot understand why a 62-year-old human still gets so excited for games..... I do not understand it either, but I just do hahahaha
Hey man, you're awesome. That's all I understand.
Gaming (and TOTK) is for all ages - I’m an elder millennial and I plan to get hype for new games for the rest of my days on this earth.
Thank you for doing this Zion, this is so incredibly nostalgic. Love it
Went to my local GameStop last night for the midnight release & we had 13 groups + another 30 or so without group numbers. I also wasn’t sure if anyone else would show up, but it was so great to see so many other fans there who love Zelda as much as me!
this was a very wholesome and chill video that made me feel happy.
We'll miss this Zion... In the near future, when they ditch physical copies completely and there aren't game shops anymore, we'll miss this... I miss it already, like I miss game magazines, demo discs and game manuals...🖤🤘🏽
Distant memories.. 😟
Which, near future? 😂
@@Durka-Durka01 the Spawncast future
I still think that as long as physical retail stores exist, physical copies of games will exist too. Worst case scenario they’ll probably become a niche like vinyl.
@@azenar1894 never heard of it. 🤷🤣
This was an amazing vlog to watch. Feels like going back to when I got my Wii at launch day on midnight. Glad both Zion and Felix got their copies of Tears of the Kingdom on launch day.
Nice, it’s almost like being there myself. My game just dropped seconds ago in the mail. Hype!
I'm happy for every single person in this line. Midnight/early releases were fun. Was there for Halo 2, PS3 Slim w Madden, etc. What are some of your favorite early launches you attended?
The only one I was ever at was the release for Skyrim on ps3.
This is extremely high quality content. Also Felix is very stylish.
Very cool. I didn't know midnight launches were even still a thing. When I was a teenager I worked in a game shop and remember doing the midnight launch for Luigi's Mansion on the GameCube. great times
I was at my local gamestore and saw all these people lined up for one legendary game. Made me tear up (no pun intended)😂
Nintendo Life's videos are just pure heart. This channel rules.
It does! 😀
My GameStop gave us the arm and the wood
I loved the addition at the end from Felix! Celebrations worldwide ❤️
I live in the CST timezone, so my digital copy unlocked at 11pm. Before I knew it, it was 1:30am. I'm 39, I never stay up that late anymore but I had to for this. Just woke up and after eating something, I am gonna dive right back in!
That thumbnail is something else… such retro vibes!
Thanks for filming this, I miss the days of midnight launches, they don't really happen much in London anymore! Enjoy TotK!!
The only midnight launch I've ever attended was for Red Dead Redemption 2. It was lovely. This was such pleasant watch. Thanks. And an amazing time with Tears of the Kingdom for everyone!
Wow this was so awesome to watch! Definitely captured good moments there 😊 thank you for filming this. Definitely satisfying to watch it instead of working it haha. Thank you for letting me know about this when you came in. 😊
Here we didn't have a midnight sale, but we had early (like really early) release sale and It was pretty exciting, and fun. Sometimes I forget people can be so nice with strangers, just because you both like a yelling green little man with a glowing sword.
So awesome, love the vibes and the build up ❤
I missed these launches as a kid.
And way more lively. I got ACNH just right before covid lockdown and the entire mall/store felt like post apocalyptic.
This was so cool! Man, I really miss the 90s and 00s for stuff like this.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I really wish I could have attended a midnight release. Watching this gave me so much excitement and happiness, I can't wait to play Tears of the Kingdom when I get home from work!
Best launch for me, to this day, has to be the Wii.
The vibes of that line was amazing. We'd share stories about games, play music on guitar, play together on our DSs, and just generally had a good time. We'd watch out for each other's places in line - and when scalpers came to literally cut in front of our line, we banded together to kick them out (made our own # in line sheet, too). The Walmart folk weren't too kind to us, literally telling us that they didn't care what places we were in the line, nor how long we've been waiting - but we defended our own just fine.
I had gotten the last Classic Controller that day. And the guy behind us seemed really bummed about not getting one.
He was a really nice guy, always stood up for the rest of the line when things got frustrating/confusing.
I gave him our controller. I was mostly buying it at an impulse, so it wasn't too bad to not have gotten it that day.
Was just really happy to see him smile.
We were allowed to all pile in our gamestop because it was pouring rain all day where we were at. But I was there when it dropped.
This is awesome! Makes me wish I had documented things like the Wii midnight launch that I went to back in the day.
Thank you for making this! The future will be happy to have this gem
My GameStop was sooo packed last nite at midnight release, it was Ridiculous 80+ Ppl waiting.. never realized their were soo many Zelda fans young & old
This is so cool to see thanks guys for taking the time to get this video it’s nice to see not only the reception for Zelda but to see so many being respectful to each other. Happy for the guy in the wheelchair hope he enjoys the game while healing. Just awesome to see a release this big like in the old days. I don’t have a gamestop close to me or one I could get to here for the midnight release but I have the game ordered hopefully it comes in the mail today. Hope everyone who does have it already or is getting it today or down the line enjoys it. My big bro and I will be comparing notes for the near future on it lol (he got me into Zelda at a young age and I believe he’s getting it today after he gets off work but he’s in CT and I’m in FL. Thanks for the video guys.
This is an amazing video, Zion. One day, these launches won't happen anymore, but we will always have this wonderful, nostalgic video to remind us of the good times.
Such nice people working there! 😊
I want you to know I took my 3DS on a trip last week. We are out there!
I’m in Coachella valley and there was a HUGE line at the GameStop here in La Quinta
Zion the style of this video is so cool, thanks for making it!
I love these type of videos!! So good much appreciated
This was the first and only midnight launch I’ve been to, and it was super fun! I got the collector’s edition and arm band. We also played Smash Ultimate with only Zelda characters and did some Zelda trivia, it was awesome!
I live in Mexico so we don't have to much money to spend in videogames, as the exchange rate is insane. But there was some midnight sell and there was a lot of people, even the next day I had to do a line to get the game. I'm 36 and it's been a while since I saw something like this but it really makes me happy to see people being excited for this game.
ooh I love this nostalgic concept.
It sucks that we can't have these events in South America because of how expensive games are... Zelda is $94USD here, and the minimum wage here is $253USD (per Month)
I went to my first midnight launch yesterday, it was pretty awesome, glad to see yours was too.
Oh Felix too?! Awesome!! Wasn’t expecting that 🤣
It´s amazing to see a real midnight release again. Great ´retro´ video Zion!
My friend owns a video game store so I am able to nab Collector's Editions so I purchased the Collector's Edition and he sold the other 2 on Ebay. Great video, I would like to see more like this. The present moment is future nostalgia.
It's nice to see people excited for the game :)
This brings me back to launches of past! thank you
Really reminds me of the Wii launch, I went with a buddy and it was such a great time.
That was really cool to watch thanks guys.
Adored watching this back ❤
Actually made me kinda tear up a little, man
This video deserves to be on UA-cam Rewind
Lol nice! I went to my local Midnight launch too & got the Collector's Edition. Also copped that It's dangerous to go alone shirt lol, couldn't pass that up. Took an impromptu unboxing vid in the parking lot & took some pics of the line, which was HUGE! Wrapped all the way down the shopping center.
Midnight Launchs are the coolest ever! I someday want to do one myself.
Extremely cosy! 👍🌞😎
Wanted to attend Nintendo NYC’s midnight launch last night, but appointments sold out in seconds. Got my armband today with my preorder at Gamestop. Scored a pro controller too 🤘🏾 There was a small line and we nerded out together as we waited. Happy new Zelda era.
Sweet! I'd love me a physical copy. Maybe in the next 6 months. I'm cool buying it twice. Thanks man!! I'm loving the game. Playing right now!
So great to see!
Lol that Bolson Construction shirt was great.
Dude I live like 2 minutes away from there!!! Your in Springfield Oregon at the gateway mall
Here before we all come back to this and get nostalgic
Thank you zeon! Hope you get more streetpass tags 🙏
I also went to a midnight release last night, and it was actually really cool. They had The Legend of Zelda trivia with prizes. There were a lot of people there (a lot more than I had expected) I’ve been to other midnight releases but this just seemed a lot more celebratory and for good reason.
the nostalgia is so real, i miss 2023
That old gentleman pushing his son in the wheel chair is a hero… dude doesn’t give a shit about the game but he literally took his son in a wheelchair to purchase the game 😢
Can't wait to go to the Nintendo world store today 😁
This is so cool but I had to stop at 4:53 to say I want that wallpaper for my phone lol. Thanks for putting this video up gonna finish it now lol
I remember having hype for midnight launches but today is so much easier to just pre-order and get things from the comfort of home.
my local hasn't done a midnight launch since before the yknow what
i miss them
Thanks, this was great
They didn't even offer us the Arm Sleeve! Didn't even know they had it.
Seems that some Gamestops were playing loose & fast with the Preorder rules.
I appreciate the title of this video. I have anything Tears of the Kingdom related blocked, but this is still super cool to see.
I remember camping outside the cinema with friends to get tickets for lord of the rings :)
Never did it for a game releases, either it's mail order or it's visit the store after work.😊
I feel like I’m watching a home movie from my childhood.
A midnight launch is something I've never done, I don't even know if it's something that happens in the UK these days?! Closest I've ever got was going to a Supermarket after my shift at 00:15 and asking a random employee if they had the new Street Fighter V in stock!
I was kinda upset where I’m from there were no midnight releases. I already miss it
❤❤❤ amazing experience!!!
only time ive done a midnight release and it was fun but i will not be doing that again haha
4:52 NO WAY YOU HAVE A MAJOR'AS MASK LOCK SCREEN
THAT'S AWESOME I LOVE MM'S ARTSTYLE SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAA
Congrats to you both! How in the world did you get the collectors edition before scalpers?
Looking forward to your videos on totk!
Wow. A GameStop midnight launch party. Haven’t seen one of those (that anybody cared about) in a long time. A long time.
You "no one brought their 3ds" me in the US standing in line at a GameStop with my 3ds watching this.
Zion, i will come with my 3ds in such an event... i understand the woes.
Y’all midnight release went good
The only midnight release I went to was for Twilight Princess for the Wii version.
Omg are you using an older handycam? Which one is it? I loved the video lol ❤
Reminder of when I showed up at GameStop back in 2003 for The Wind Waker. I was there a day early to preorder another game and right before I left the UPS guy showed up with the game and the employee was like “Here you go. You are the first guy in town to get it”. Lol. I got it a day early with an additional copy of the Master Quest GameCube disc that preorders came with.
that is a rip roaring 3ds box selection
GameStop had some fun games the last hour before the game released last night! It was awesome seeing so many Zelda fans! Shocker though, two women won the prizes, they knew EVERYTHING about Zelda Lore! It was amazing
But do they know what “eastmost peninsula is the secret” means? Cause I’m still trying to figure that out.
🙄🙄🙄🙄
This feels like it's minutes away from turning into some Blair Witch shit
No plaques or sleeve we got a fake leather luggage tag in the UK
these are definitely the type of guys that play zelda
Happy Tears of the Kingdom day fam 🥳🎉🎉🎉
FELIX😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 OMG LMFAO
camcorder footage! big up :)
Who would have thought that people would do that again, I thought most people lost their mind in 2020. The Tears release is giving me early 2000s vibes!
Tears of the Windwaker
Thats why i love physical games great environment all gamers
I saw they have a copy of Kirby's Forgotten Land!!!

Man, last time i went to midnight release was COD , collectors edition night vision goggles.... memories!!!
This looks like the intro to a Cloverfield movie.
