Another outstanding video from TRQ.
I'm not a mechanic, but I can get stuff done. I watched another video where the guy was having you disconnect everything from the tie rod to the hub bearing to dropping the axel. Then I found this video and it was WAY more simplified. Drop tie rod. Remove strut. Replace. Done. Had the job wrapped up in about 4 hours, including a parts store run.
I really appreciate the to-the-point details y'all give. 😁👍🏼
Straight and to the point. Wish all DIY videos were like this one.
+Victor Alanis Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
So I should torque my tire and let the jack down before tightening the top bolts on the strut?
Worked for me, exactly how you described and showed it, all in about 30 minutes. Thanks for the video. Great help!

Great tutorial and I love that it's a crusty vehicle you're working on
Simple no bs u explain it straight forward thanks you sir!
finally found a 2WD video. That would be awesome in your title. Also, did I see 35 ft-lb torque in a reply below for the three 15mm nuts on the top? I also see that Torques on the strut bottom should also be done with load on the strut (makes sense really).
Both side of mine the coil snapped . Easy video to follow. Thanks! It my next task!
Precise, good job.
+Robert Wheeler Thanks for the feedback! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
you can definitely get all three top nuts from the engine bay. Just move back the wheel well liner a bit. At least worked for me and my POS truck. Good luck!
This f150 is a 2wd?
Yes u do not see a CV joint in the front thus 2wd just like my truck
What are the torque specs for the strut mounting nuts
So it’s better to over-torque the bottom strut but then to under torque it I suppose? Because my torque wrench only goes up to 200
Can I put that strut on my 08 ford crown Victoria its looks exactly the same
Do you have to lift the wheel before tightening the large bolt because of the bushing inside?
What is the torque spec for the 15 mm nuts on top of the strut?
35
what tool did you use to drive the bolt out at the 2:00 mark?
Will this work for installing 1.5” leveling spacers? What I’m wanting is if there is enough give in the lower control arm to squeeze the strut back in with the spacer ?
+Boom Our parts are only compatible and guaranteed on vehicles without any modifictions. If the vehicle is equipped with any sort of leveling or lift kit, we can not guarantee our parts.
What do you torque the 3 top nuts to?
What if the top nut bolt just turns with the nut?
what if we dont have a torque wrench?
You didn’t put the cotter pin back in the locking nut!!
So I guess I'm doing struts tomorrow.
The only thing different I would do is never torque the bottom bolt on the strut ( The big one) until you drop the vehicle on the ground. You can really chew up the bushing. Other than that it was spot on
