This video literally saved hours of my day. Perfect note by note instructions and expectations on the devices. Plus a great Blueprint to use,
The Styrbar is so cheap as well, plus has the AAA batteries, as the previous Tradfri had the CR2032 cell. The AAA's can be rechargeable.
Totally agree, what a great switch, it even looks like a real switch as opposed to a plastic toy. Check out this video (ua-cam.com/video/9F3eShxI55E/v-deo.html) for even more Blueprints.
Great video thx
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi, home bridge and HomeKit already integrated with HA. Is there a way to get ikea styrbar and bulb (zigbee connected) to HomeKit? Thanks
Yep, but... isn't there always a but, only through an IKEA Tradfri gateway or DIRIGERA hub as far as I'm aware. ref: community.home-assistant.io/t/ikea-dirigera-integration/491328/4?page=3
How long does it take to configure? Mine is taking ages and keeps repeating the same lines in the log: [0xC0A0](Remote Control N2): Device seen - marking the device available and resetting counter
[0xC0A0](Remote Control N2): Update device availability - device available: True - new availability: True - changed: False

I am using the Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 Plus dongle
Check out shorturl.ac/7coi6.
I'd recommend
- Reset it (4 presses of the link button)
- Leave for 1 hour
- Pair the button in the usual way
Outside of that which protocol are you using? ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT? The Ikea devices can be temperamental but once connected are rock solid.
@@smart_home_australia I'm using MQTT. I went back to a previous backup and re-installed MQTT / Mosquitto and the devices are now being recognised. Hopefully I will get there now. Thanks for your videos - they are great!
Thanks @djdavecowell, good to see you got it working. You know of my videos, the backup video was one of the most important I believe, but also one that wasn't watched by many. Strange old world :)
I have the Styrbar remote e2002, but can't get HA to find the remote. I've held down the pair button for 10s, pressed it 10 times also, running raspberry pi with a zigbee stick. Other lights work. Any ideas?
needed to press the reset 5 times *really* fast
Agreed. 5 times and quickly. They can be tricky. Also which zigbee stick are you using and which zigbee software, ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT?
@@smart_home_australia I'm all connected now, thanks so much for your video!

Thanks for your support and thanks @Adrian-fi3kt for helping out.
This button is huge
Yep, its NOT small, BUT it runs on standard batteries, it has many functions and if used with its magnetic based is portable.
