Can I make it possible to have the IKEA air quality indicator reach 30 or above and send push notifications to my phone? How can I achieve this? Could you provide me with some tips?"
Yes, you can use this just as a stand alone device or as I have connected it to Home Assistant, as long as you have a ZigBee antenna connected to your home assistant.
@@hometechUK Hello, what does number 4 mean, just beside the 3 colours please ? I understand the colour like red is bad, green is good, but the number 4 ? Thank You. By the way, i just notice that it alternate between 3 and 4 now.
Just bought one and wanted to connect it to Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT with Conbee III Zigbee Stick, but the device doesn't want to connect. I pressed the button 4x several times, did a restart of HA ... Newest Updates installed. Any help? 😊
My conbee wouldn't connect to any devices until I used a USB 2.0 hub. The USB 3.0 ports blocked the communication. Works fine in a USB 3.0 port + USB 2.0 Hub.
Nice video. Being a zigbee device , they could have made it battery powered and that would mean one less wire cord and socket taken up in the house. The accuracy and technique used in these sensors is yet to be validated. for its price its a cheaper monitor
@@Rikz72 I know but if you keep it connected the battery will degrade quickly, rendering using without plug in useless. Battery-less and you just plug in and forget. Much better for your nerve.
@@nares2005 That's just poor design, but I admit that's everywhere and mostly makes this approach no go. In a better world this would be a non issue and we could just buy a battery powered rechargeable device and plug it in 24/7. It's not really harder than a standard li-ion, a 4 volt charge limit and reasonable power circuit within. However, the general public does not want this. It's either disposable battery ultra low power or wired with bells and whistles. Cheaper and requires zero technical knowledge or interest.
so dumb to have air quality crap and dont include co2.... co2 is mor eimportant than pm2.5. in your house there is no 2.5 emiters....and a lot of co2 emiters
I find the PM2.5 doesn't update regularly, but randomly when it feels like.
What a neat product. Add CO2 and this would be absolutely perfect for all sorts of applications!

if im understanding this correctly, this means i can buy one of these without needing to spend more on the ikea home hub?

@hometechUK oh I don't think I have one of these, ı got a samsung smart things, which I think does other zigbee stuff

@@corvusaflame713 I solved it by using ZHA instead of Z2M 😎
Model number, where to buy?
How loud is the fan?
Can't hear it , I have one in my bedroom & I can't hear it while in bed.
@@hometechUK Thank you. Amazing. I got the simple Ikea VINDRIKTNING air sensor with three leds and it make annoying noises not suitable for a bedroom.
Does it also work under ZHA?
You can yes but I believe the PM2.5 does not show, unless that has now been added, I'm not sure?
@@hometechUK Shame. will have to wait till there is native ZHA support then
It should have said ‘close the window the air quality is low’

The sensor is quite good, someone else did a complete teardown and it’s a nice Sensiron sensor in this model. Very accurate.
Disagree. No battery means you don’t have to careful about the battery health. You can plug it in all day and all night long worry-free.
@@nares2005 You can have an inbuilt battery and still keep it on charge connected.

Looks like someone in Sweden is a Rush Fan.... (If ya get it... Ya got it....)

CO2 sensors are waaaay more expensive for a product like this unfortunately. 4x the price for the final product.
