You might have noticed the lack of a certain bard in this episode. Turns out that Antrius is currently in an extended lockdown due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in Melbourne. We'd love to get him back as soon as is legally possible, however in the meantime we've had to come up with a Plan B. Hope you enjoy the first guest character on the show, and let us know what other classes and races you'd like to see!
Also we're still a little while off beginning production on Season 3 as funded by Screen Australia, so the next few episodes will still be entirely self-funded - any support you could throw our way on our Patreon would be greatly appreciated!

Holy crap Antrius. In all seriousness, I wish him all of you the best. Its really admirable to still make videos with all these setbacks. In all joyfullness, this is awesome. He has his own kind of flair that balances well with the other characters. Cant wait to see him interacted with a recovered bard. Sorry this comment is so long 😅

Well, if anyone was going to catch a socially-spreadable disease, it would have to be the Bard. Hopefully, he doesn't catch it irl, but props for remaining in character. And RIP for that new character. No one ever cuts off Nixie when she's casting Fireball. That's just beyond rude.

@@DeathnoteBB psychosis isn't an illness, it's a symptom. Calling acting professional psychosis has nothing to do with ableism, it's just a somewhat cynic view on the craft and the training which is often conducted in a manner aimed at overstressing students and breaking down conventional barriers. (I'm not saying there aren't healthy acting practices. There's just also some very unhealthy ones.)

I love how classy Eva always dresses and then her character is a rough and tumble warrior who likes to kill people. Really demonstrates how accessible D&D is to everyone and that characters don't have to match one's real personality.
Say what you will about Annandale but we can all agree that that was the best display of Charm Person in the history of DnD.

So Nixie's lisp is only in character. The question is: is this just a cute character quirk or is it just the prosthetic fangs?
99% sure it is an intentional character quirk. It's not that hard to speak cleanly with prosthetic fangs.

In the previous episode she spoke in a lisp while out of character but I'm pretty sure that was a blip
I actually had the chance to ask Alessia about this on Instagram. She said it's a little of both. The fangs cause a slight lisp so she exaggerates it.
The old "expositionary dialogue in tortured backstory" tactic. Often works with other players and the occasional "I don't have time for this" DM.
Hate to tell that to you, but it doesn't. Peoples get sick pretty quick of someone who talks about himself like he's the hero of the party. It just gives a Sasueke vibe, which is awful.

Would be funny to see a lawful good guest character like a paladin or cleric considering how the rest of the cast is like on a daily basis.
Yes! This please! He could so easily have a callback to Nixie's "Are we the bad guys?" line. "Are you the bad guys?"
Yeah exactly plus often in parties you often have a character that has a hard time mixing like my own party is all kinda chaotic good or neutral and then our sniper has lawful good which has kinda made for a very disjointed group dynamic especially when the characters have personalities that don’t mix well due to being complete opposites

As much as I love dnd sketchs, I always feel bad about the ones that mock the guy who gets carried away in the character impersonation. Both as player and DM, I always love to see people getting intense with the roleplay. I would love to be in the same game as Annandale, vessel of Xax'gadoth, master of the cosmos, keeper of the eldritch knowledge, our eternal lord and savior :v

The whole Charm Person sequence had me laughing uncontrollably and I don't know why.
Nixie is so adorable my brain went to "Oh no, she didn't get to burn a person alive" with no hestitation and nothing but genuine pity and sympathy.

I had a Warlock in a campaign once who actually used his obsession with his patron, The Nephilim, as an social weapon. Whenever things started heading south, his character would begin passionately espousing information about the Nephilim until whatever NPC they were dealing with had enough and offered to give the party whatever they wanted if they would just take him away. He literally bored the group out of danger.
Omg everything about this. The acting, the writing, the potrayal of locks and these type of players but also really tapping into what embracing dat sweet eldritch wisdom is all about.
Comedy on point, production/editing on point and even that little outro. Wish I said it more- Y'all are slaying it out there, every vid you make brings a smile to my face, laughs to my belly, and warmth to my heart

Aw, he just wanted to share his backstory. He hadn't been around to do the character development over a long campaign like the rest of the party so he went a bit overboard, but goofy melodramatic characters can be fun and the initial melodramaticism of their intro winds down to a more managable level if given time. The characters kind of looked like a mean clique booting him out like they did, just saying
If he had just used charm person off the bat His unabridged backstory might have gone off better. No one likes a showboat who doesn't do anything remotely useful.
Furthermore the middle of an interrogation isn't the place for an info dump about your character and the patron they sold their soul to. You save that for rest periods.
@@clothar23 Ideally, yes. But you also don't drop a fireball on a royal guard in the middle of a stealth mission. My point being let they who are without sin cast the first spell

Used to play D&D with a person like that....completely derailed and sapped the fun out of it. Could only get away from that once they were no longer my roommate. I so feel the DM's distress after that one. Awesome video!

I've just finished watching 1 For All series. It's definitely one of the best things I've ever seen here on YT. I could tell how much I love all your work, your acting, your costumes, and generally your care for every detail in production and for making the series look so... so... so... I don't even have a word to describe my delight.
I could tell all of it! But I can't. There's something that distracts me and takes my common sense away for good.

omg, every time I see her on screen I feel this unstoppable, unquenchable urge to be possessed and haunted by that demoness. She awakes a fire within me and it's quite different kind of fire than she casts with her spells :D It's paradoxical how much divine a deviless can be, and she's that living paradox.
Yes, I know how stupid it sounds, but... I really love her. There's no word in any language that could describe how beautiful she is. Do you remember that feeling from childhood when you regretted your favorite character from cartoon or other show isn't real? I feel exactly the same right now. Well, 10x more.
But seriously, guys... keep doing what you do. Pure perfection. I wait for next chapters, and for more Nixie :)
