Honestly impressed with how many 1's this guy can roll in a single session, it might not be good luck, but it is still damn good luck from a probability standpoint
I have a friend with such a bad luck. He has a lot of 1’s on everything: skill checks, attacks and damage rolls, regular dice, digital dice, random number generator. His 1’s become legendary. Once he rolled 4d8 with all 1’s. That was stupidly hilarious 😂 He is okay with that luck, he laughs about it too. But lately we gave him deck of cards - works pretty good especially when he shuffles before every “roll”.
Not gonna lie, my buddy was laughing when I was screaming at a certain boss fight last night cuz Gale, Astarion and my PC missed about 75% of their hits. But all the anger is worth not using karmic dice!
@@slartymcguarty2954”after being given inspiration from @binary7 slartymcguarty2954 looks on with confidence and rolls an 11 he succeeds on the roll although just barely slarty proceeds to watch the video”.
This makes me think about DMs that roll for everything. Like you say you want to explore the room and they have you roll dexterity, you get a 3, oops you trip and hit your chin on a rock, take 1d4 of damage with disadvantage and no resistance.
The tadpole in my brain thing broke me. The rest I chuckled at, but the absurdity of that series of statements was PERFECT. There's definitely a point or two in the game where you can say that to someone who really is not in a position to help you at all lol.
I like to think that its that tadpole in his brain that made him like this. Everyone else is normal but after that he has to roll for every little action.
Alternatively, give a thumbs down. Flipping the bird elicits anger, but the disapproval of a thumbs down elicits a feeling of shame that will stick with them.
I think the main character in this animation represents a lot of us. Many a days it seems like everything is going wrong and nothing will pan out but then you do that one thing right and you feel like you're on top of the world.
I recommend a quick reload to fix your every day's problems. Also the karmic dice are not activated by default irl so you might want to check your options.
This was brilliant! I just logged off from playing for the last six hours and naturally had to watch this when it came up on my feed. Absolutely loved the traffic scene and the office.
Oh yeah that would be so good. Im dying to see what he would do with the voices in his head dialogue. Soo good. That small scene in this video were he was looking at the mirror remind of the start of DE, i wonder if it was intentional.
This went from "Everyone is also seeing dice in their head/in on it" to an actually serious possibly mental situation of a man who truly believes he has to dice roll his life. And somehow brought his madness to life. Joel this is horrifying. 10/10.
Walking into work and the first dialogue it gives you is the, "I'm in need of a healer," option followed by, "Mind Flayers put a tadpole in my brain," is so funny to me. It never struck me as weird in the game but you really do just go up to every Dick and Jane and say, "Yo, you know any doctor good enough to pull an alien parasite out of my skull?"

Honestly, I've never heard of that before. If something is funny and makes me laugh, it'll make me laugh regardless of who I may or may not be sitting with.
Totally get what your saying lol. And I'm the same exact way. cause most of everything I watching UA-cam no one watches with me I'm like the only one interested so I relate to this a lot and do the same thing all the time. But when you're watching stuff with friends it's different there's more of a vibe
Sometimes when I'm alone and I actually laugh at something it gives me a fright.
Same here. I was brushing my teeth during that part and when I laughed some toothpaste came out of my nose.
Personally I react more strongly when alone
That old man is DEFINITELY a wizard.
Divination wizard felt bad and helped him roll a 20 at the end of the day
I loved the Dwarf’s interaction with the lawn gnomes. 🤣
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
damn they paid you for that? shit felt so organic i never would have guessed. One of my favorite animated ones youve done
This might be my favorite brand integration by any channel.
Nice. You totally deserve it. This was amazing!
Yeah this one is up there for sure.
Hahahaha
You should see the one he did for Elden Ring!
The guy saying "This guy f-ing rules" Felt so real to me. Like me and my friends would have the same reaction to meeting old friend Bearheart.
That's so funny !
I looked away to reach for smth n when I turned back I was greeted by that line n it was the most hilarious "true" moment
I’m crying, Brian at work was literally me tryna act normal after doing nothing but play BG3 for the past 4 days
E
You rolled a 1 critical failure. Better luck next time bud.
My characters roll like this, and it's sobering to know how Faerun perceives me.
The reason Joel has so many Inspiration Points to keep rerolling his checks is because his character's background is "Disappointment to his Parents".
I love the fact that the only skill check he passes is one that he decides to do for no reason 😂
We've all had that one d20
Lmaooo! Nice
Literally the best 20s ive had were all for stupid stuff XD
As is tradition.
"Can I roll anyway just to see if it would have worked?"
This is so great. Love to see a sponsor trust a creator's talent and relationship to their audience.
It’s how sponsors should be!! Let creators run wild and they’ll want to uplift your product!
I've never played a BG game, but this video actually makes me curious. The ad worked. I may pay real people dollars to acquire it.
@@ebudd08BG3 had my curiosity, after this video it will have money. Ready to roll some 1s, 2s and 3s
@Joel-Haver Scripted ad reads are so off-putting. I hope companies learn from this.
Thanks! this was incredibly funny and really made my day! 😂😂😂
That Strength check to get out of bed is always rolled at a disadvantage😂
My one nitpick is that shoulda been a CON check
@@kinseywk really it should be a wisdom check to summon motivation but (mental) STR is good too
@@TheJerbol Yeah there's a decent case for WIS, but that's usually more related to magical sources. I'd still lean toward CON, since it covers physical sleep sources (e.g., sap/blackjack, tranquilizers/poisons, etc.). I'm not aware of any sources of sleep that would interact with STR (i.e., flexing muscles).
I want an all Ulfrin Bearheart sequel where he plunders the town with his gnome friends, especially the one with the bare ass
Hey Alex, I’ll send you some screenshots and zoom ins of that scene on Facebook
Joel used my ass as reference.
@@Joel-Haver Love that you chose the normies to react to Ulfrin Bearheart by going "This guy fucking rules" hahah rather than having them just play the straight man in the skit.
@@anguscampbell3020 That was exactly how I would react to Ulfrin Bearheart IRL, too. I want that sequel.
@@anguscampbell3020Everyone needs a homie like Bearheart.
Friendly reminder! After watching this masterpiece, everyone should go on a journey through Joel’s older videos. There are tons of gems that lots of people are missing out on :)
Adventure awaits
sure, but you know he could have been a kid. He could have been a kid making videos
Thankfully the cheese wheels have been restocked at the corner market today.
TONY LAZUTO?! YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT - what was that 😐
What’s up Tobes? Good day to you
the "inbibing lager with the boys is SUCH an underrated line here. You never fail to make hilarious animations man
Molly's voice acting in this is incredible!
She crushed it!!
I ate Molly once, was really fun
@@CharlieKellyEsqno
Having not seen anything about the game I genuinely thought this would be the real game narrator’s voice
@@OrangeJJuice I haven’t played it myself, and I was legit checking to see if they did a collab with one of the voice actors before I realized it was her! Blew me away.
Honestly impressed with how many 1's this guy can roll in a single session, it might not be good luck, but it is still damn good luck from a probability standpoint
“You're not gonna win but still you're the luckiest man “
Not using Karmic Dice i guess
I have a friend with such a bad luck. He has a lot of 1’s on everything: skill checks, attacks and damage rolls, regular dice, digital dice, random number generator.
His 1’s become legendary. Once he rolled 4d8 with all 1’s. That was stupidly hilarious 😂
He is okay with that luck, he laughs about it too.
That it is,.. that it is…
This was the greatest ad I have ever seen.
I rolled a one so I couldn't watch it :(
@@slartymcguarty2954 I give you inspiration, you can roll again
Definitely watch internet comment etiquette, foul mouth but their advertisements are legendary also
@@slartymcguarty2954”after being given inspiration from @binary7 slartymcguarty2954 looks on with confidence and rolls an 11 he succeeds on the roll although just barely slarty proceeds to watch the video”.
Matto! How you doin'?
This makes me think about DMs that roll for everything.
Like you say you want to explore the room and they have you roll dexterity, you get a 3, oops you trip and hit your chin on a rock, take 1d4 of damage with disadvantage and no resistance.
Please let this be the future of sponsorships, it’s all so beautiful and perfect. Can it stay this way forever, Joel?
For me it will! I can only hope so for the rest of UA-cam.
The tadpole in my brain thing broke me. The rest I chuckled at, but the absurdity of that series of statements was PERFECT. There's definitely a point or two in the game where you can say that to someone who really is not in a position to help you at all lol.
I had a crazy ex who used to tell me that she felt like she had frogs in her brain. I guess squirmy brain is a real thing.
I like to think that its that tadpole in his brain that made him like this. Everyone else is normal but after that he has to roll for every little action.
"Hail outlander! What can I do for you today, everything you see is for sale!"
"I HAVE 5 TADPOLES IN MY BRAIN"
The thumbs up interaction was so wholesome. De-escalate aggression with positivity, even if accidental.
Alternatively, give a thumbs down. Flipping the bird elicits anger, but the disapproval of a thumbs down elicits a feeling of shame that will stick with them.
Yeah agreed i liked it a lot as well! Also hi miles, fika monster here XD
I've done something like that to a road rager. It de escalated the shit out of the white Honda Civic.
The "this guy fucking rules" was such an unexpected response. LMAO 😂
I think the main character in this animation represents a lot of us. Many a days it seems like everything is going wrong and nothing will pan out but then you do that one thing right and you feel like you're on top of the world.
lol bro thats me everyday couldnt have said it better best comment 2023
I recommend a quick reload to fix your every day's problems.
Also the karmic dice are not activated by default irl so you might want to check your options.
Trent as an elderly neighbor is probably his best character ever
he's so wholesome it hurts 😭😭
I love any time we get to see Old Trent
Thanks for giving him a win at the end, Joel. That felt kind, hopefully it'll give him the strength to face another day.
I was so afraid he would fail all his rolls. So glad he rolled a 20 at the end. :D
The moral of the story is - We all have at least one natural 20 roll deep down inside each of us.
@@CB-ke7eqstop putting dice in ur butt
I was really rooting for him on that last roll
i needed that too
The stealth had me in tears I absolutely loved all of this
Ulfrin Bearheart rules, Brian should bring that guy to more stuff.
This guy helped me animate, it’s the first time in this channel’s history I had help animating so please check out his stuff I love him!!
“What, are you saying like good job?
…Thank you.”
That got me really good.
This video is just as amazingly high quality as the game it portrays
That's some seriously high praise (or harsh criticism)
This was brilliant! I just logged off from playing for the last six hours and naturally had to watch this when it came up on my feed. Absolutely loved the traffic scene and the office.
I'd watch a disco elysium one. Just his thoughts getting into an argument while he stands there for 5 minutes making everything worse
Unironically, Joel's style of humour and Disco Elysium would fit like two peas in a pod!
SUCH a good game
Oh yeah that would be so good. Im dying to see what he would do with the voices in his head dialogue. Soo good. That small scene in this video were he was looking at the mirror remind of the start of DE, i wonder if it was intentional.
You made me realize that Joel's videos are basically just Disco Elysium but low budget and if it was not a game.
I'd like to think Joel steer clear of that game given the dispute between the devs and the publisher.
If I had a disease that could turn me into a brain sucking monster at any moment I probably would too!
5:02 “I need no introduction!”
*introduces self*
The gag of " I NEED NO INTRODUCTION" followed by introducing himself lmao.
I just can never get over the amount of work that goes into these after watching the video showing how to do it.
"If I knew you were this bad at hiding I wouldn't have hired you" Idk why that line tickles me so
Hahahaha
And I bet he doesn't even have to hide at work. Which implies how serious it is.
Like, what's his job got to do with hiding? Is he a ninja training instructor or something?
Clearly he's not THAT bad at it , if he managed to hide his inaptitude at hiding during the recruitment process.
His job is Hiding Policy Administrator.
I would happily watch an entire season of this
Who knew Baldur's Gate 3 rolling applied to real life routines just makes it into Disco Elysium
Probably because both are rpgs which have dice rolls as core part of their game play loop.
Captain Obvious saves the day!
Exactly my thought!
@@akamal92Not really, Disco Elysium has a core theme of struggle and self-deprivation.
Something it shares with a lot of Joel's skits.
I wouldn't say it's Captain obvious, because I hardly know anyone who actually knows Disco, but BG3 is big (deserved, but still).
@@akamal92 yeah but this is straight up Disco Elysium situations! You're trying to respond to someone angry just to make everything more awkward. You are a middle aged desk job guy trying to pull physical tasks just to screw up awkwardly. Do childish and goofy things exclusively because you can't think of a better option. Everyone considers you weird because you are weird.
does it actually? that sounds stupid
The sheer absurdity of the scene at work with the two guys just making small talk where he just says stuff that only makes sense in an RPG to them is just beautiful.
Lmao!!
Yeah, though would have been great if one said "Oh, I can take a look at that for ya. Just lay down on this table..."
The most accurate part is the lows are always ridiculously low forcing you to use all four inspiration points just to do simple things.
It's either 1-3 or 17-20 🤣
Dude for real. I just used 3 re-rolls to intimidate a githyanki general. At least it was worth it. lol
For my avatar its usually below 1 for success which is even more frustrating. But for Astarion its just hax when it comes to stealth, pickpocket and lockpicking, 99% success.
Do you have Karmic dice off? Because it is on by default. I have had it off since day 1 and I feel like it is very accurate to rolling in DnD
@@jessed9145yeah, karma dice off it's a nightmare but at the same time spectacular, playing without save scumming it's a roller coaster, you never know where you'll end up

I think my favorite part is that leave is almost always an option and, just like the game, the one time he does it it's almost entirely the most awkward option.
We have tadpoles in our brains. Bye.
The sudden use of actual game dialogue got me so good. This is excellent.
Am I the only one here that heard about the female character creation in the game allegedly being made so that women don't look like women? Also, I hear that there's... like... different 'dangly bits' you can choose from, possibly including if you choose female.
Like... what?
@@normanmccollum6082 Yes, you are the only one here who heard about that, because it's ridiculous and blatantly untrue. The dangly bits thing is real, though, but entirely opt-in, with multiple layers of "opt-in" hoops you gotta jump through before it's even apparent/visible.

I can promise you this; if our paths were to intersect again... you can expect more.
I am in this Culture War, and it is to my final breath. The children must be protected from the LGBT groomer cult. And for my fellow non-heterosexual folks, whether they be lesbians or gays of fellow bi people or trans people (who best be honorable in the sports they choose to partake in, I don't like how many trans people tend to be narcissistic) they need to consider if they want to continue supporting the LGBT movement that has been taken control of by groomers, meaning they need to consider if they want to be ALLIES of groomers... or if they want to stand for children to be protected.
I am LGB. I don't care if I'm the only one in the world, I am LGB, and I am OPPOSED to the rainbow flag-wavers who fill CHILDREN'S SCHOOLS with it. I am IN THIS CULTURE WAR! The only thing that can stop me is death.

Joel rolled a 20 in being a good UA-camr.
He's awesome at making shorts, but not a very good UA-camr. Not enough clickbaity titles, surprised looking faces in thumbnails, or daily uploads padded out to 10 minutes each by sponsors, interaction reminders, or repetitive intro/conclusion sections reminiscent of high school essays.
