  • High blood pressure is a common condition in which the long-term force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.

    Blood pressure is determined both by the amount of blood your heart pumps and the amount of resistance to blood flow in your arteries. The more blood your heart pumps and the narrower your arteries, the higher your blood pressure.
    You can have high blood pressure (hypertension) for years without any symptoms. Even without symptoms, damage to blood vessels and your heart continues and can be detected. Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases your risk of serious health problems, including heart attack and stroke.
    High blood pressure generally develops over many years, and it affects nearly everyone eventually. Fortunately, high blood pressure can be easily detected. And once you know you have high blood pressure, you can work with your doctor to control it.
    In this video we will look at a new research that shows a promising new lifestyle modification to reduce high blood pressure.

    I cured my hypertension by eating very healthy and most of all losing the weight. In just 2 months I got off my meds. my blood pressure was 140/90 or 150 /90 .. now it's 110/70 :) 🙏

      @@lespaularkay4004 I started eating simple organic food. I'm asian so usually breakfast is red rice or oatmeal 1cup plus lots of vegetables (cook veggies usually steamed with onions and tomato, small salt with pepper if i use oil for saute veggies i use canola ) + large banana for potassium + meat is usually fish or chicken usually boiled or steamed. Plus i eat 2 cloves of raw crushed garlic together with my breakfast. No pork or beef a little sea food sometimes. Lunch time usually is very light fresh lemon juice w/ wheat bread sandwich. Dinner is same with breakfast. Always eat food high in fiber u can snack fruits or nuts if you want in moderation. No junk foods. Everyday 30 minute exercise brisk walking or cardio exercise. My supplements are vitamin E 400 IU & centrum advance all taken after breakfast. Most important is ur sleeping hrs should be at least 7-8 hrs so ur body can recover easily. U can monitor ur BP always if there's an improvement. Control ur stress always get enough rest. 2 months I lost 15 kg I was told by my doctor to try to get off my meds for 5 days if my hypertension comes back or not....so happy it didn't comeback it now stays at normal range. I'm 31 years old btw. Maintain healthy lifestyle that's the answer. Hope this helps.

      I will never forget getting a comment from my doctor 4 months before my running the 100th running of the Boston Marathon.

      Depends on the stress. If certain people stress you, do not be around them. If they are a spouse, that is difficult. If it your job, you can get another job. One needs to identify the stressor, and be honest about your own contribution to any situation. Talk to an effective counselor (friends can be prejudice).

    High blood pressure is an early warning of the senses within the immune system that it registers as something abnormal, not a disease that can be treated. All the things that revolve in your mind throughout the day have things that may affect the health of your body, so the immune system sends warnings that may cause you discomfort such as lack of sleep, feeling hot and headache, and it translates electronically into numbers, which is high blood pressure numbers. So when you are comfortable and do not feel stressful, your numbers will be normal. Or when you drink a glass of wine or beer or sleep for long stings and wake up fresh

    I would say that their is a connection between the increase in high blood pressure rates and the rise in obesity in the US, when you have the combination of Obesity and high blood pressure this is what kills, high blood pressure on it's own doesn't kill so much, it's akin to Covid-19, if you are fit and healthy you have nothing to worry about , but if you are obese or have heart problems etc etc then your chances of dying from Covid-19 are much much higher! it's the same with BP, if you have underlying health issues then HBP will have a bigger impact on your outcome !

If you drink hibiscus tea a natural vasodilator and because it is sweet tasting in itself doesnt need sugar, you may find you drink it instead of coffee and sugar thereby also reducing your sugar intake. In your shoes Id target cutting sugar which is probably a major cause of your being overweight and is in itself bad for the heart

    Two weeks ago my blood pressure was 212/128 and I was taking extra blood pressure medicines. I started walking 5 miles every day. I changed my diet completely and this morning my blood pressure is 108/67 and I am completely off of blood pressure medicines. I can teach anybody to do the same. Stop all alcohol consumption. Stop eating all foods that convert to sugar like bread, rice, and potatoes, and stop your intake of salt. Increase your intake of avocados, walnuts, pistachios, hemp seed, and a high polyphenol count olive oil, eat lots of fish that is high in omega 3 oils, and green leafy vegetables. Consume 1 teaspoon of pure cocoa daily. Also, take a high-fiber supplement that is pure like psyllium hulls. Do not over-consume water. Do not take Metamucil as it does contain psyllium hulls, however, it also contains other ingredients that are really bad for your intake. The first week you will feel bloated from the high-fiber diet, however, that will pass and the high fiber will lower your cholesterol. Another benefit you will receive is your arthritis (which is only inflammation) will go away. High blood pressure can be completely controlled by diet. I hope this helps and good luck to you. Bottom line. Lower your sugar intake, increase your fiber intake and lower your blood pressure. it's that easy!

    This is interesting about naps. I have very high blood pressure 151/83 is my current average. I took a nap on one day and measured my blood pressure about 10 minutes later and was amazed to get a reading of 128/78, about the lowest Ive had. I shall try napping again when I have the chance. Any significant results Ill post here again if anyone writes to say they are interested. Im one of thsoe weirdos who leads a fairly good life style not overweight not much salt or sugar and still this blood pressure. Just age against me nearly 70. Im very interested by this idea of napping.

      @@Gamer28509 That does sound high. but do remember that it is average which counts, one reading need not mean too much, (doctors IMO tend to over react to single or one day readings) I take three readings a day and make an average for the day and for the week. Exercise is good, cold showers, almonds apparently I eat a lot of them because I like them anyway, try hybisus tea as a possible substitute for pop, if you make excel sheets online with collours for different levels I find that helps-gives you a target. Make sure you are rested for several minutes before taking a reading. It is amazing how much sugar is in everything. Take a good look at the sugar content in products before buying them. Here is a fun fact, my blood pressure sank signifcantly all the time I had covid (thought it was supposed to go up) to "ideal" levels. I think a reasonable target and realistic for people over 60 is systolic mostly below 150 and dystolic mostly below 85 Ideal systolic mostly below 140 and dystolic mostly below 80. Expectingmore sounds to me suspiciously like drug companeis trying to persuade you to take medication. Blood pressure rises with age and thats a fact. A last point worth checking your arteries with a cardiologist-there is a signifcant difference between high blood pressure and healthy arteries and hypertension along with artereosclerosis. That is a somewhat challenging condition much more serious than hypertensionwithout artereosclerosis which isnt good of course but less serious because if the arteries are clear and flowing (blood pressure readings say nothing about the state of your arteries) , it is much less likely that your hypertension will cause an infarction.Hope that helps.

    Just to say my doctor said she is not going to worry about my blood presure because it doesn't seem to effect me. That made me think a lot about that statement. What did she mean??? In the end after a few days of thought I came to the conclusion she was sayinig that it hadn't givem me a heart attack or my liver hadn't exloded. I was a little stunned at what she said. The last time my bp got up that hight she rushed me to hospital and was really panicked. It was 220/134. It made me think deeply about my situation and start to work on a resolve for myself minus the drug company nonsense ( they are very crucked). So changed my diet at first stopped intake of high carbohydrates in my diet but had to replace that with alternative which was not so simple. I had to learn about diet in a big way. My doctors had never told me about things like this. I replaced carbs and sugars with proteins and fats as the main focus. At first had fatigue really bad and tiredness. The fatique went but tiredness stayed. In the end after thinking deeply about the tiredness what was causing it. My conclusion was that my body was rejuvinating while I slept. It was leaning itself which is a medical fact much overlooked. The rejuvinating of muscle tissues and the like happens in sleep state. So if I felt tired took a nap. My situation has changed completely. I lost very much extra weight and stored fat. Slimmed right down and am also looking into other sources of inflamtaion and the like. Learning about these things is therapy in itself being 67 I really enjoy the learning aspect of this journey but wish doctors had actually done some doctoring from the beginning instead of doing the drug companies bidding. My bp went down quickly to 152/100, which was a big change and have kept learning what to eat rather than relying on meds. Just walking around without that extra weight has improved my daily life didn't weigh myself but got some new jeans which were too small but quickly became lose then I had to get a belt which was too tight but also quickly became lose and now I am on the third hole in. The key to the diet was simple. I started eating fats with each meal which eliminated hunger completely. I have no appetite inbetween meals none at all. I use coconut fat for one meal and olive oil for another, just the fish itself for the other meal which is tuna or sardines from a can. The most noticeable other things so far is hibiscus but it has only been a few days so do not know how much it will effect my condition. The swelling of my ankles had started to come back at times but hibiscus really effects that I can feel it soon after drinking in that I get a werid feeling to do with blood flow seem to lose feeling and pins and needles in my ankles for a time but have noticed the ankles have been improving a great deal. Something is happening and also the drink I include the hibiscus and honey as new ingredients: it is ginger and turmeric with green and black tea together; that has a big effect and I try to take it on an emply stomach which gives me bad nausea. It really is doing something like the hibiscus I can actually feel dong something. Turmeric and ginger with green and black tea doubles my weight loss as I tried a time without it and found my weight loss almost stalled completely. It is carbs and sugars that cause most of the inflamation. I am working on the rest of it but do wish very much that actual doctors would major and natural cures rather than rely on drug companies my conlusion about that is that doctors are naive about drug complanies like us clients are naive about doctors.

    The right genetics are part of the key. My hale, hearty, and grumpy paternal grandfather that smoked a pipe until he was about 63 quitting because it hurt his throat lived to be 93 as the result of complications from a broken hip went into the emergency room at around age 85 from low blood pressure. He ate bacon and eggs every morning and the only exercise he ever did was golf and tend to his garden. He chewed tobacco in his leisure time. And my sweet-natured, mild-mannered maternal grandfather smoked like a chimney had a stroke at 60, still smoked after a stroke, finally quit at the age of 68, and died of an aortic aneurysm at 75. Both were WW2 vets that never served in combat. Personality is a lot of it. If you’re a worrywart, wound up, and always uptight, that’s what’ll kill you! The latters wife always breathed secondhand smoke and still alive at 103. Bottom line, stress and sedentary lifestyles are the main killer!

      @@awallacecreative5488 Thesee things help: good sex, losing weight, not worrying so much, almonds, cold showers. If you set up an excel sheet with different colours for all kind of readings it makes the whole thing more fun! Measure how many steps you taker per day and see if you can reach 5000 a day. Smoking is condemned all the time but there are plenty of other negative things and IMO if stopping or not smoking means you are much more stressed then non smoking can even be worse especially if you replace smoking with sweet things. I suspect sugar is worse than salt. Try and cut down massively on sugar.Remember if you were on meds that if your blood pressure has stayed the same that really means a great achievement. When yougo off meds your BP is likely to rise suddenly thats logical.- A major drawback of meds is that they weaken the ability of the body to do the job itself. Consider going to a cardiologist to find out if you have arterescleoris sounds as if you might have. If not, you need patience and yes it takes a while. Dont forget water and breathing exercises. Finally, stress is really very bad for blood pressure-try to take a step back from your work stress and see if you can see the funny side to it. People take many things too seriously, I do myself. Also have you a hobby? Reading literature, gardening, collecting stamps-all tend to lower blood pressure because they drastically reduce stress and make you happier at the same time. I speak with some sympathy have had high blood pressure and it is way lower than it was thank goodness (was prescribed medication which I never took and havent taken yet and hope never will take) but I know it might start slipping up again any time but it is fun with my exceöl sheets and complicated colour system. also I have started a wrist exercise which is said to lower blood pressure slightly but first after about half a year. I have what I think to be a complete break through for getting a low blood pressure reading…. Bring someone you trust or love like your family to the appointment or store where you’re getting tested…I tested high at Walgreens then got home with my family tested and immediately had 117/88 vs Walgreens 141/100 so I went back with my family and tested 120/84 bingo it’s like separation anxiety I don’t know but it worked…obviously exercise and decrease caffeine sodium…

      u need to calculate MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure) & the Formula ---> 2 (Diastolic) + Systolic & divided to 3. 120/84 = by MAP is 96 (Stage 1-HyperTension)

  • @anatolydyatlov963
    @anatolydyatlov963 2 роки тому +4

    Ok, that's great, but if someone has like 160/80, then reducing the systolic pressure to 155 (by 5mmhg) won't change that much, right?

    • @hostiles1
      @hostiles1 2 роки тому +1

      MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure) reading for 160/80 = 107 & 155/80 = 105. not change that much & still inside Hypertensive Crisis zone. MAP Formula ---> 2 (Diastolic) + Systolic & divided to 3

      Cheers for this, been searching for "how to reduce the high blood pressure" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Handadison Pressure Amalgamation - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.

      I know what you mean, i went to get mine check and of course i felt more anxious, the nurse said that your bp should not shoot up that high....then it didnt help with the neg facial expressions and comments like you want to give us a hard time...i guess probrably it was kind of joking a lil but i think you should help calm idividual done with postive words....ya know

      @@alecglisson when I was young up to late 30’s, however tensed I am, my bp never crossed 120/80.
      But later in early 40’s the same tensed situations showed an elevated bp of 150/80 . It then changed to 160/100 , now 140/90 . At rest bp reading now, 110/80.
      So my conclusion is a person said to be having hypertension when his bp goes above 120/80 whether he is at rest or at tensed / active state.

    how about those of us that can no longer walk very far. i used to go for a fast walk of 10 + miles, during my layovers. now i can not even walk a slow mile, on a good day at home.
    my back is pain, feet feel like i am walking barefooted on rocks. then my asthma, it stopped me from pushing peddles on bikes. used to ride from lake level (lake tahoe) up to the pacific crest trail. heck did a couple century's. hills, lots of skinny tire rides that were very hard. now on the flat is hard, i run out of breath doing most everything requiring hard out-put.
    wont even go into the stress i am under. -work, family, life.-
    my job is driving a truck, i sit for hours. been doing this for over 40 years. but i retire in jan. a must.not a want thing.

      Try reading one of the longest novels in the world called in Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust. The first fifty pages of the eleven volume novel deal with the writer's waiting for his mother to kiss him when he was a child. One book deals at length with the different positions and relations between of members of the French aristocracy before World War One. It may send you into the land of Nodd.
