I really enjoyed this video, thanks! Some of your commentary just had me rolling! Feel a little bad though, it seems your enthusiasm deteriorated as you moved away from good water to several days of bad water. The last day with good filtered maybe wasn't enough to recover from that terrible experience. Thanks for going through the trouble so that we won't have to, haha. Yeah, we owe you one!
Personally, I've spent a lot of time on the subject but I'm still experimenting and learning. I look at water mineral content as another variable, i.e. depending on the beans or brewing process you can do some additional tweaking with the type of water you use. I used to actually prepare water one brew at a time. And yes, that does get old. So for now I use Third Wave Water, but I do plan on getting back into making my own eventually.

Haha, glad you appreciated! I just thought it would be fun to actually try out the claims about good brewing water rather than pass it along as gospel.

Is your tap water running through a softener? Can you tell us what Hardness level is at your home? All municipal water hardness is different depending on the spring the water they collected from.

According to the local water report for my municipality, the water is in the sweet spot of slightly hard. You actually don’t want water that is perfectly soft. You want some minerals in it. The only thing I do is put it through a Britta filter.
To find out what kind of water you have, you can either check the water report from your municipality or buy a testing kit.

Take my word for it and you will save thousands of dollars on espresso machine repair cost. Always use distilled water in espresso machine. You can treat that with third wave for flavor enhancement.

This is obviously going to vary, from location to location. Here, we have delicious tap water. Do whatever tastes best to you.

Must have bad batch of distilled water. I had "distilled" water from Walmart and it was disgusting. Walmart is bamboozling selling so called distilled water. Coffee made with Distilled water from Target or Whole foods Market made perfect delicious coffee.

Hey, thanks for the comment! My distilled water here was probably from Target or CVS or something. My guess that would explain what you're describing is if you bought distilled *mineral water* from Target or Whole Foods. There really shouldn't be a lot of ambiguity about what qualifies as pure "distilled water - it's deliberately had the minerals removed through distillation e.g. for purposes of being added to a car battery or an iron. It is supposed to taste like garbage because its purpose is to be used in machines, instead of in humans!

@@loodog555 Distilled water is flavorless, buddy. It literally tastes like nothing.

@@loodog555 Absolutely false. Water from my Mini Classic CT Countertop Water Distiller tastes pure and refreshing. And when I mix in Third Wave Water mineral supplement, it makes the best tasting coffee I've ever had.

There are people among the 3rd Wave Coffee movement who talk about making your own brewing water out of distilled water. A company makes the mineral packets and sells them: thirdwavewater.com/. Others say that's a rip-off and you should just make your own: awasteof.coffee/how-to/mixing-water/.
      Good luck!

Next, he'll run through all kinds of beans to explore which bean farts he prefers. Coffee snobs are rivaled only by wine snobs in pain caused by listening to their oral gas expulsion.

As a matter of fact, I released that video 5 months later: ua-cam.com/video/Vvt0jJ19pG4/v-deo.html Enjoy!
That said, I don't get why you're navigating to a youtube channel whose *tagline* is "Stay Coffee Snobby*" 😂. Do you just seek out content you know will irritate you for ...like... masochism purposes? 😂😂
