I honestly thought I was the only person who absolutely loved that specific shot, easily in my top 3 favorite film moments of all time; its such a great 4th wall break because of the subtlety, that smile that lets the audience know that "yup, she's gonna die lol" without saying anything at all.
Agreed. She did however survive and become the hero of Planet Terror. Which was the second half to this film released in theaters as The Grindhouse Double Feature.
I literally JUST pointed out to my daughter (because she's watching "Scream," and Rose's character Tatum just died,) that Rose McGowan has now died in two movies, 21 years apart. "Scream" 1996 "Death Proof" 2007
haters gonna hate, this is one of QTs best. and Menke's editing (rip) is amazing. Stuntman Mike is one of the best villains ever put to screen, and the genius that he's a stuntman and finds his match in the second half with a group of stunt women. One of his BEST FILMS! The chase with Zoe on the hood of the car will never not make my palms sweat, and I still want to know how they did it.
I'm here for 5:00. Such a mean muscle car. In the GTA V game, there is a way to make a car as closest as possible to the Death Proof Nova and be ACTUALLY death proof. Here's how to do it: Get a Vigero (even though it resembles a '69 Camaro), paint it matte black, upgrade it fully, armor, bulletproof tires with Old School rims, roll cage (keep in mind, the passenger seat will be gone like the Nova), put on black classic license plate, do the indestructible car glitch, and then turn on the Invincibility cheat. Only downside is no skull on the hood. Very fun to ram cars with.
He’s not retired. Technically he still has one more movie to make. And word is he wants it to be like the mic drop of the decade. Leave you wanting more but that’s gonna be it.
Yeah. Sometimes Quentin Tarantino has his ways of tricking viewers into thinking that his movies are boring...until the real action happens out of nowhere.
That shot of Kurt Russell smiling to the audience, is hands down my all time favorite moment ever by him...and one of my favorites in all of film.

Shades of Funny Games
Call back to Smokey and the Bandit, Burt Reynolds breaks the forth wall hiding out from a local County Mountie
@@dwightcrooks4976that’s what I was about to say total Smokey & the bandit homage
I remember the audience in cinema (including me and my buddies) laughing to this scene.
Don't take rides with strangers....
True
I literally pay strangers to take me home from work. Don't take rides for free from strangers with no motive
Don't sext with strangers on internet
Real talk.
It's a movie lmao
Has Rose McGowan ever not died in a horror movie? Seriously, if Sean Bean is King of Dying, she's ruling right by his side as the Queen of Dying.
Agreed. She did however survive and become the hero of Planet Terror. Which was the second half to this film released in theaters as The Grindhouse Double Feature.
Glad I read the comment first. That's exactly what I was going to say, lol.

"Scream" 1996
"Death Proof" 2007

The way kurt smiled at the camera was badass
The crunch sound when her nose hits the rollcage is brutal.!
To all you parents out there; if your little ones refuse to put on their seat belts? Just show them this.
Technically that seat didn’t come with a seat belt.
Sadly, my child would not be deterred.
Except here there is no seatbelt. Further guaranteeing that “yeah actually no u r going to die no matter what”
Rose only plays a victim onscreen in real life she kicks ass.

What an awkward way to end a first date ...........
2:51 Smokey and the Bandit homage.
PICKS1993 on a scale of “its ok” to “a remake will piss on Burt and Jackie’s grave,” how funny is that movie?
This movie was crazy!
I'm here for 5:00.

well, unless it only works for vigero, you can get THE car, with a livery made by rockstar called "sure it's safe?"
Declasse Vamos is the death proof car with that paint job in gta online
This movie is SO underrated.
By whom?
@@mgkpraesi Me. Thought the movie was boring, except the scenes with Kurt Russell
I remember this in the theater the first time , just brutal
Only to prove that his car is deathproof to drivers
Exactly
Yup.
Who was he showing this to? Who was the observer? None other than him. And that makes him on of the kuntest psychopath ever.
2:50 - him going left was decided at this point in order to catch up with the other women
I was here for 2:50 and you probably are too
1:32......I love it when a girl does that to my tattoos
That Nova is sex (minus the cabin mods 🤣) sounds so fucking good
What a gruesome Death scene
Please Tarantino come out of retirement. Your movies are the only good modern movies today.
Tarantino is great and all, but this is totally bs. There are a plethora of good modern movies nowadays.
Dude, he literally made a movie less than a year before that comment was posted
He’s not retired. Technically he still has one more movie to make. And word is he wants it to be like the mic drop of the decade. Leave you wanting more but that’s gonna be it.
Bill Maher wants him to not retire.
@@volcommadness No buddy, he’s done.
Did this movie inspire the look of “drive” with Ryan gosling .. the jacket and car are so similar
45 mins of a movie watching some guys into a bar having an uninteresting conversation leading into this...
Yeah. Sometimes Quentin Tarantino has his ways of tricking viewers into thinking that his movies are boring...until the real action happens out of nowhere.
There's clues and dialog in every conversation x you know the people more. It's just a better way of keeping interest. I think
Well
None of the 45 minutes were boring
In my opinion..
Tarantino for you.
In the second half of this movie the second group of women are having a conversation about that very thing.
Read the movie title. Then heard something about the hazy plot concept.
Then watched the movie.
Then I got it.
2:51 I came here for the smile. Lolz 😭🤣😂😭🤣😂
Kurts the greatest!
Brittany Murphy auditioned for the part of Pam but lost out to Rose.
I will say the truth it's better than pulp fiction just saying
0:19 - That’s an awkward walk back over to them. 😄
Brilliant, love to see it 💀
I can hear you
How do you reinforce a car so it’s death proof?
And why doesn’t Subaru or anyone else do that? 😂
It's illegal to do it, it disobeys road safety regulations
There is a lot that would break factories safety regulations, not to mention comfortability lol, which is what most car companies focus on now a days
Not my proudest fap-
2:52 Hi, folks! 😁
5:19
And that's why seat belts are important.
Oof
This movie fucked me up
