If you tilt the motor clear up you can remove the plug, then lower it all the way down. The oil won't start draining until about half way down. Less mess.

I have a cleaner method to change my Yamaha Motor Oil.
After my oil is warmed up, I tilt my motor all the way up. I remove the 14mm bolt and screw in a plastic adapter that I bought at my dealership. Then I slip on the clear plastic tube on the opposite side of the adapter.
I get a 5 gallon bucket and flip it over and set a 1 gallon empty plastic bottle on the bucket.
Then put the clear plastic tube in to plastic bottle.
I lower the motor and the oil starts to flows out the motor.
I then remote the vent cap.
I only have clean the adapter and tube off. Seal the plastic bottle & change filter just like you showed.
I also bought a adapter made to fit the Yamalube Bottle for pouring the fresh oil into the motor. Simple, Easy, & Clean.
No need for a funnel & drip pan or to clean it when you are done. Used oil is already set for proper disposal.
    Very little clean up.

One added tip, fill the filter with fresh oil before reinstalling .. the paper inside will soak the oil up pretty good and it makes no mess .. 😎

Personally I will be running the motor after finishing the service and checking for oil leaks around the filter and ensuring the oil level is correct

I am a little nervous about you just hand tightening the oil filter... FWIW I always use an oil cartridge filter wrench to tighten mine and I do about 3-4 oil changes a year (every 100 hrs). I also like to run the engine for a few minutes with the cowling off to check for oil leaks. Years ago I almost lost the engine in my Toyota pickup when a sloppy Midas mechanic failed to tighten the filter properly. First thing I knew the red idiot light came on and when I checked the oil it was down 4 qts!

Thanks , but I think you forgot to show putting the drain plug back and how much torque to use on the plug as well as the filter when reinstalling

Shouldn't you change your oil with the engine warmed up?????

I have almost 100 hours on my F70. Is the oil change the only recommended service at this point?

Get you an oil pump and no more loosening drain plugs. Most technicians at dealerships use those. Don’t have to worry about stripping out the drain plug threads.
