"This wepon isn't that great"
As he DOMINATES with it in the background gameplay
I dont care how bad it is jetpack makes brain juices flow
ONEHUNDRED PERCENT HOLY CRAP IT’S SO MUCH MORE FUN
The domaine rush I get from playing this weapon is unreal
My people 😭🙏
Also it’s not a bad weapon at all

I feel that the difference between the decavitator and the other weapons, is that it relies on it's whole kit. Unlike tetras, the decavitator has two kits that in theory should work.
Fun fact, Decavitator has a charge hold parameter in the game's code. If Decav got a charge hold, it would make fighting on different terrain a LOT easier. Think how Nautilus builds a charge from behind cover or under a ledge and then peeks with it to get a kill. Decav could play the exact same way. And peeking ledges with a full charge and a massive hitbox would make it REALLY scary. I think it would be a really fun way to buff it too vs making it have less frame lag.
Interesting. That could make for an interesting buff
This Weapon is PERFECT
Fixed, you're welcome! :)
This is one of the few weapons that I don't like to play, but I like playing against it
I like that it has a far dash slash and not a vertical one. It is not fun being camped but it is fun trying to dodge a decavitator. Even though it’s probably the weakest splatana, in my opinion it has the best design out of any of them
Exactly, I feel so sluggish and vulnerable when I play with it, but when I’m fighting against it, it feels like I playing a game of cat and mouse
I often mess around with the Recycle Brella and it was so funny on Day One of the new season seeing all the Decavs in Open chase the shield instead of me
In my opinion
Mint: Frontline Zombie Slayer
Charcoal: Midline Support
Charcoal inkjet go psssssss
It's a splat roller without the vertical flick.
Which means it's worse
@@user-bl8cd2xd4g well the decavitator can still kind of fight at mid range, though
no? decav is dive weapon meant to play around corners, also having decentish midrange chip. it cant shark the same way, because its close range kill time is only 5 frames faster than a DYNAMO, and only if you're frame perfect. if you're playing ninja decav, you're using the shark positions as a point to dive onto people from. meanwhile, splat roller is just instant threat of death. and the kill range is around as large as or maybe smaller than splat roller (would need to pull up stats to confirm, can't rn). splat roller is a sharking and aoe weapon, decav is a diving and midrange chip weapon (with good paint too, which splat roller completely lacks) that can use sharking as a means to get started. they are not that similar.
Imo it’s a Roller-Brush hybrid
It feels so natural to me as a painbrush player
Decavitator gives me happy brain chemicals
I’ve rushed down groups of enemies way more with this than any other weapon methinks. To each their own, but personally this is the most fun I’ve had w a splatana
Def takes a bit to get the timing down, but once you do you’re golden
4:15 the splash wall is used like a mini bubble. For self defense in situations where you need to be protected from faster weapons or things like the rainmaker shield
The decavitators are slower than stamper (releasing the charge slash isn't instant and feels weird) and with the range they have it feels like a wiper ranged stamper with more damage.
You’re still the best I’ve seen on this weapon. Others just use chip damage instead of the charged shot. And that’s where you shine. Yes, please more content!
wow chase
i have no words
Watch the whole vid haha
@@Chase247 i did before i made this comment 😭😭
@@Chase247 4:15 the wall is used like a mini bubbler. To block shots from faster enemies or assist in a 1v2 the dash also allows escape if the enemies try to attack from the side. Also it’s good against rainmaker bubble
I'll take the mint! I love supportive and sneaky weapons with range hehe >:)
The decavitator is definitely a lot of fun but the way I currently play the weapon (tetra’s style) definitely doesn’t feel very effective, I’m excited to give this strategy a try!!!
This was the most fun weapon ever on launch when everyone was learing it but now I definitely feel like people are catching on and I die way more frequently 😭
Still a fun weapon but I dont think I'll use it if I actually want to win matches lol
The dash slash can be a good mix up. Though the more I fight it, the easier it is to counter the slash cause it's so slow.
Any weapon that dies as much as the tetra dualies and isn’t the tetra dualies… has a problem💀
Wiper??
I like that you can throw your sub weapon after your lunge attack I like that with the Mint because after the lunge attack I can throw a Suction Bomb this weapon great with that than Wiper and Stamper.
Personally the weapon isn’t crazy good but good.I think people are just gonna have to stop relying on ledge camping and as for vertical heavy maps if it’s not humpback then this weapon still can work.
Love the weapon but i hate ninja squid as an ability cause of how cheap it feels. I prefer mint but im gonna 5star charcoal to truly get good at the main weapon
Felt but I’m poop at Splatanas so I’ll actually use NS
I love the charcoal for inkjet but i think i almost exclusively use the wall to help out my teammates because im busy sharking and im not really gonna need it 😅
Hey chase I was just wondering how you get your art, do you draw it or get it from somewhere, it always looks so good
I commission other artists, always linked in description
You and I seem to have had exact opposite experiences with this weapon. Fun seeing other perspectives
Between the two kits I like the charcoal a lot better. You have to play more into your kit and I don't mind doing that. I put some sub power onto my wall to absorb more damage and I noticed a significant difference in how long I can pressure with my team. The only real downside is that it's one of those weapons that needs paint on the ground to function, but doesn't lay its own turf all that well. At first I thought it was a great painter, but because you aren't laying it constantly like a shooter, the paint gets covered up before you can use it sometimes.
It ridiculous paint plus charcoal kit works great in zones when you play it like a painting support. I play it with a lot of special power.
New thing
Tetras + Dynamo + Splatana = Decavitator
Finally somebody brought up ninja being good on this weapon!
This is also true for rebrella for me!! I have 5 starred v rebrella and the best strat is to run ninja squid so that you can shark better as your shield breaks so easy
I've been playing this weapon like a Range Blaster with better ink efficiency and it's given me pretty good results. I play very aggro support and this weapon helps with that playstyle especially the Mint variant
Decavitator's kits have 2 different playstyles. Mint decav has vanilla roller's playstyle of sharking and getting sneaky kills. Charcoal has the 52 gal playstyle of setting up wall to block players from making a push and using inkjet to push back.
I got 11 splats on my first game with decav. On turf. I love it so much
I, as a guy that found little use in the vertical slashes in the other Splatanas (Probably since I'm not the most trained at them so they feel way too precise), love the big ol' horizontal charge slashes that can wipe out 50%-to-75% of a poorly positioned team in the blink of an eye that the silly toothbrushes provide. Also, I think Charcoal's wall is meant to either cover your back when you're being chased by multiple enemies but are still pursuing another one or assist in an advance against a longer range weapon that'd just shoot you down instantly if you tried to throw out an unprotected charged slash that'd make you a very predictable target. Another thing, Inkjet on Charcoal obviously helps with range but also helps a bit on vertical stages that you'd probably want a vertical slash on. Of course doesn't entirely remove the weaknesses since Inkjet isn't there all the time, but I think Charcoal kit kinda tries to aid the Decavitator in places it isn't strong in and that's pretty neat.
Funnily enough, this is LITERALLY the exact set of events i went through lol
It does sucks to be severely limited by the map, but the Mint will always have a place in my heart :)
I really hate playing against this weapon, It feels like someone can charge towards a different direction to me, and still splat me instantly, it is really annoying, and sometimes it feels like when people are using it, they are changing direction mid dash? Jumping with something like a shooter seems to make it easier to play against though.
On the night of release, it was too slow for me. I tested it out mostly during turf war. Of course everyone was testing this and the Wellstring Vs out. No one was quite used to them yet so I switched to splat dualies and dominated. The Charcoal Decavitator has grown on me. One of my first shirts I built while main'ing the wiper had Ninja as main and three swim subs. It really grew out of fashion but maybe bringing it back for this weapon will work great? Curious, anyone thing the Wellstrings are a little OP?
Wellstring imo is a good main because its a dual mode weapon (partial charge is like Reeflux and full charge is like Tri Stringer) but the kits hold it back
I kinda wish this weapon had the vertical slash if you jump like with the stringers do. But that would make this stringers not as special.
Interesting that you like mint more. My experience was that Big Bubbler is much too slow to deploy after a slash to ever protect you from anything, and if you're not right on top of someone with it, the bubble doesn't even let you move forward. I feel like I'm trapped in a cage without how helpless the weapon is to move anywhere safely when it's in a bubble against a weapon that outranges it or can space safely. The splash wall kit feels much better to me because you can throw the wall while moving, and it means you're not constantly at a disadvantage against weapons that outrange you.
Which kit is better I think mint
I really like bubble on it
Mint is probably better but I really like charcoal
Whatever version of souven1r you used in this video felt like I was having a stroke (great vid btw)
LOL wym exactly? Like mixed too loud?
@@Chase247 nono like it was looping certain sections for some reason? Like every few measures it would just loop what was just played instead of letting the whole thing play out. Nbd obv just thought it was funny
@@LogiCreates oh LMAOOO yeah I used premieres "remix" music feature, that's why
When this weapon came out, I hated it. I started experimenting with gear, and I found my gear. 2 mains of swim speed and 3 subs of super jump and qr. you play this weapon like a wiper. You are so fast and no one expects it. Average 20 kills a game. X rank btw
I’ve played all 3 swords, and even though this one plays/feels the worst imo, it’s still a very funni weapon, especially in open
It's like painbrush. Slow wind up. Sorta long distance and some power with a wide hit box.
It def has its weaknesses, but I’m honestly *loving* it
Playing the Mint as a Comeback/QR weapon just Works, at least for me. I had to change up how I approached fights with it, vs just Rushing In recklessly like I would with Wiper, but I get pretty comparable results between the two. Ninja Squid helped me make sense of the Charcoal Decavitator for sure, it works Really Well on that one - the splash wall is VERY situational, as opposed to how you might use it on .52 or .96 gal - but it can help! Overall I like the Mint a lot more though
Omg I had the EXACT same thought on the Decavitator, being more as a stealthy player, though I still like the inkjet kit. I personally like the Decavitator but not being able to hit under ledges SUCK.
ngl the decavitator isn't too bad for me, I actually really like it! I haven't played with the charcoal one, but I did play with the mint one, and I can't stop playing it now!! It's to the point I'm starting to main it!
I understand now why i struggle with this weapon, i didn't play it with Ninja Squid, but i test it with this abilitie but i really don't like the playstyle. So i guess the weapon isn't just for me
Charge slash Lunging are situational unless your good at it then its not that situational. So use charge slash(Without lunging) to your advantage often, either be range take 2 hit with reg projectile slash closing in by only one hit. Besides I’m loving this weapon, so it’s going to be my third 5* weapon.(charcoal), also this weapon taught me how to shark properly with ninja squid.(and doesn’t necessarily needs comeback)
If it’s ninja squid dependent, that doesn’t speak well to how it would do in comp given the current tacticooler meta,
Personally, I played the things for like 10 minutes and immediately realized they were not for me.
I knew this thing would be slow but I'm still baffled by just how slow
For it to be the slowest sword AND have the least range is quite the trade off for its big hitbox and long dash
I certainly hope the initial rage at the big hitbox from casuals doesn't result in a S2 Dynamo/RB situation
The weapon doesnt fit my playstyle perfectly, i can easily work with wall and inkjet, but my aim is ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH THIS THING, but it could be because im a Blob/Kraken Main who has used a majority of sploosh and enperry but i have done some really good plays with the charcoal.
The mint though i havent really tried Mostly because i felt that bubble was to defensive for my playstyle + i would likely end up dumping bubble in the WORSE places because of the fact i have a bit of an annoying playstyle. i would annoy my teamates more than my foes
Ima still be a wiper player
As a Bamboozler main, I like Decavitator.
It is very easy to kill them when they dash at me : )
I have little doubt that the Charcoal is the better kit, but I could tell immediately that Suction Bomb, Big Bubbler would be the fun kit.
being a clash, dynamo, and hydra player
a weapon being "not very good" doesnt mean that much
Says you, I'm using Mint and I'm having fun.
Might wanna watch the whole vid before commenting haha
@@Chase247 I chose ignorance, and have decided to blindly stand by these words, regardless of new information. Never apologize for anything ever, no matter what. I shall die wrong and hated.
2:28 FINALLY, SOMEONE GETS IT 🥹
This weapon is definitely a Solo-queue warrior
The hit box of this weapon is way too big
It’s my new main mostly the meme potential
Mint is so fun. It's definitely not a brainless weapon though. You actually gotta strategize. *cries in aerospray player*
Getting kills with it feels nice. I don't care for charcoal as much, mainly because the kit doesn't fit my playstyle. I prefer the passive/support-oriented Mint kit. This weapon is so punishable though 😅
Mid but insanely fun is the best timeline tbh, we won
Yes the Splatana Decavitator cannot ledge camp. There exists no tech that allows you to charge slash over a ledge. Continue to ignore any and all Splatana Decavitators attempting to ledge camp as well as any damage you think you may have taken from one.
-With warm regards, a Splatana main
As someone who plays weapons that get screwed by Stamper often I see this as a W
Thank god it doesn't need a nerf.
it does, the melee charged slash is waaaay to fckn overtuned, literal 180° radius
The decavitator is definitely a fun weapon but yeah after using it for quite a while and i dont think its super great
I like the blade
Yeah but anyways for me this weapon is still one of the best weapons in the game and the weapon is litteraly: Nah, I'd win
Mint decavitator? More like Mid decavitator, am I right?
Charcoal decavitator mid
You're mid
Hot take: every kit is disappointing!
Would still want it to get a few small nerfs
LMAO it doesnt even have any tournament results to warrant nerfs.
@@HeDronHeDronHedron just small nerfs
@@abelramirez6436 what meta is being ruined by the decavitator not receiving small nerfs
@@HeDronHeDronHedron my meta 😭
is nobody gonna mention the latency in this game. so many times kill enemy on the tower and the tower still moves ive lost so many games to that. tower control is thee woorst mode in this game sit on tower with bubble shield, sit on tower with kraken, the maps are still god awful soon as your a player down you become pinned in spawn. this is thee worst splatoon game of all 3 . if splatoon 4 was a shop if i was walking past i wouldnt even look in the window.
hi chase
I love it ❤
Wall on the charcoal tends to be a taking space/holding down space option for me, as well as giving me an option to stabilize for a short while.
Not a fan of the weapon. Using it feels clunky and facing it feels cheap.
What happened to this weapon ruining the meta and needing nerfs 😂😂😂😂 LMFAO i knew that this wasnt op but twitter babies still complained. wonder how they feel now
*talks about how disappointed the weapon is*
*proceeds to showcase how amazing the weapon is in the clips*
xD
*talks about how Chase contradicts itself*
*literally does not listen to the video at all*
LMAOOO🤡🤡
@@bazooga242
assumes how i didnt listen to the video at all and clowns on me LMAOOO👻👻
already proceeded to enjoy the badassery of chase’s clips
Fun fact: Anything people think is OP is usually mid
Takeaway from this: Don't take advice from casual players
Funny how this weapon was "Broken" and "Meta ruining" until it released. almost like scrubs on twitter need some big bad scary meta ruining weapon to not feel bad about being shit at the game 😂😂😂
Nah this weapons fun and best in the game you're wrong, nitpicking and biased. I win bye bye
watch the whole vid before commenting bruh LOL
Yeah this weapon sucks
