Finding out what your bird needs to eat can be a little confusing, there is a lot of information out there but no one actually sits besides you and explains what you should go and buy for your bird at the pet store.

I havea a budgie that just flat HATES carrots .. in any form :) I gave her finely diced carrots once.. seh carefully picked out the carrot dice , placed each one ( and just one) between the bars of the cage then came back and beak flicked them out of the cage one at a time :) Later I saw her picking them up ,taking them to the far corner of the cage and dropping them
My budgie absolutely hates fruits and veggies too. 😂👍💯

Dont listen to this Guy! He gives bad tips!
For example the "Fresh" thing! The fact you need to FORCE or trick the birds to eat it should tell you anything!
In nature they eat 95% seeds! At home they dont have as much movement! So you should give less and watch, which ones you give! Take those with much fat in it out (in good pet stores you can mix your seed mix yourself)!
The fresh stuff gets old fast and if you dont change it daily, you have a sick bird VERY fast!
And Paletts! NEVER give this to your bird!
I dont know who told these people they are good, but they are not! 100% NOT!
In fact whwn i find a You Tube channel about birds, this is how i differ a good from a bad You Tube CHannel!
But this Guy here has many Ideas, for which I could sue him for animal abuse in my country!
I am from germany and we have the strictest Animal Protection Laws on this Planet!

I’ve had budgies for a while now, and know all this stuff, but your videos are so calming.
I never knew of them to eat veggies. I've always thought that in the wild where they originated, birds like these would mostly eat fruits and nuts. But never knew they'd eat veggies. I guess seed junkies is a great term because they've made them so much seed junkies and deprived us of truth, that people like me who know little to nothing about them don't know they can eat and need to eat veggies too.
@@capricedowsland3068 Actually most people know that, i'm surprised you didn't. Although it's good to know you know now, and yes you're right they don't eat veggies in the wild, but since they're not in the wild it's important to provide them with some. Plus my birds aren't seed junkies, they only eat pellets as their base and seed for treats.

Hey there, I need some help/advice for my budgie. His name is mango and I’ve had him for around 2 months, and sadly his wings are clipped. He is a very skittish and scared bird, but he will eat millit spray out of my hand. I don’t know how to make him trust me more and how to get him to step up. If you could give me any tips that would be great, thanks.
My budgie absolutely refuses to eat her fruits and veggies. And it's years I've been trying. 😩
But she'll eat junk food and drink soda and she loves ramen noodles.
She'll eat whatever in my plate but not healthy stuff. I admit I spoiled my birb alot. ❤ 🐦 ❤
I'd say the best way to start is even of they don't eat the fruits and veggies, is to cover them in seeds and keep giving it to your birds, by now your probably also very well bonded which would make this easier
Or you can stop projecting your "Green means healthy" attitude to your animal and force it into something! Free living Budgies dont eat carrots and cucumber! @@butt1rcupa
@@DarylMCDeath Yes that is true they don’t, and forcing your bird to eat something isn’t good either instead you could encourage them. Something you have to also remember is in the wild they fly A LOT, like I mean A LOT, but when they have specific food dishes all the time and don’t work for their meals they can gain a unhealthy weight and have health issues.

Hi birds nugget! I have an issue with my budgie and I don't know how to solve it. I fed her too much banana and she is having a hard time digesting it and keeps attempting to puke the banana out, I know you are not a veterinarian but please I need advice! I'm still searching on how to save her.

I trained my 1st bird to eat fruits &veggies after a lot of struggle, and now my 2nd bird just follows whatever he does and i didnt have to train her at all
My budgies refused to eat veggies but i kept putting them un their cage and they eventually started eating them. Fruit on the other hand, if i dont crush the fruit and mix seeds in it, they wont touch it. They also love hard boiled eggs. Seeds are only a treat and i put them in a special cup they have to find when they fly out of their cage. Then always keep a food bowl mix in the cage of dried fruit and veggies, meal worms, egg protein, fruit pellets and regular pellets.

if your bird wont eat pellets just buy small and brown pellets they think its seeds and then slowly introduce more healthier pellets
Hello everyone i have a question and i really need help!!
I have a pair of cockatiels and they have 1 2 week old baby and this morning the male flew away and i have seached but cant find the answer to my question which is will the mother continue to feed the baby or should i take the baby and hand rear it??? I cant find an answer anywhere and im worried the mother wont feed her baby can someone help
You need to pay attention to your birds body language, just like humans birds suffer from depression too. If the father just left he the mother might get extremely sad and want to hurt the baby. Just be careful pay attention to your birds and you could possibly separate them and hand feed the baby.
@@butt1rcupa the mother is extremely distressed she has been calling him since yesterday and is jumpy, flying around at the slightest movement I make
@@TheWinterAngel107 You should probably separate them, she could easily harm herself or her baby, I’d say feed the baby on your own, but keep their enclosures close to each other but not in touch of each other. The mom will know her baby is safe, and won’t be able to harm the baby.

I have two birds and one of them died today. Im trying to gain the trust of the other one but he wouldnt trust me, im really sad today.
i have an extremely over dramatic bird when it comes to vegetables. when i first introduced pepper to her, she freaked out and started to flap around the room. dw, she is tamed, she does this a lot when she sees an unfamiliar object (such as a book). soon she forgot what she was getting all worked up over, and just did a few more laps around the room for fun. so, thats why i don't try and feed her vegetables 😭
