Hearing they know you love them made me melt. They definitely do, my boys are so happy and full of life. You can tell they're appreciative of every moment, especially so given one was a rescue and was heavily neglected in the past
When I was sick with COVID and basically bedridden for two weeks, Amy the lovebird didn't scream around 8 or 9 AM (which she'd usually do to if the curtain remained covering the window)... she let me sleep and it was really sweet. When I was very sad and in tears, she did a bunch of silly tricks I never saw her do before!
Even though my birds aren't tame, I love them so much. And I feel a bond. They often fly close to my head. Or when I have a depressive episode and lie on the couch, they often fly very near. Making me smile.
When I'm down, my budgie always knows. He'll be extra loving and want to be on me even more, like flying to me as soon as I come in the room and chatting to my ear and cheek more than normal, like he wants to get close to me.
#5 IS SO TRUE. When I had to catch my budgie to clip his nails, if I even so much as hang around standing by the cage too long HE KNOWS and gets suspicious. That bird was smart I tells ya.
Our pet Budgie used to fly upstairs when my mother was having a shower, he used to hide down behind the pelmet along the top of the curtain rail, when she'd return to her room and start drying herself down his head would pop up from behind it and he'd let out little noises that sounded like laughter! 😆 You'd hear her shouting "get out you little s*** bag" and a puffed out bird would come flying back downstairs again. He was so comical. 🤣
Thank you Bird Nuggets for this fun and informative video. Im sure all the bird veterans can relate to your findings, advice , and experience. I loved it ! 😊
istg I had the best bird ever she would never be mad at me she never ever bit me she also never cared if I picked her up it was like we had the same mind I can’t understand I managed to get such a good bird I miss her everyday
My bird is always concerned and very caring when i cough when im sick. He will drop all his naughtiness and stay with me till he is convinced im ok. 😢 ❤ its the sweetest thing ever to witness ❤
Me too. My budgie I have now is brilliant, he has hundreds of words he can say and is so funny. We have a very close bond and he's out of his cage for hours everyday. He's 10 years old now and I dread losing him, although he's still very happy and healthy. My old budgie, Norman, died 11 years ago and I still miss him 😢
In the '70s and with my first Cockatiel, the first contact I had was his bite. Ouch!!! Today, I let my Cockatiel out to give its freedom. Then, I thought that that was not so good. It was climbing the metal door. I had to put it back in its cage. I made a bowl with both of my hands beneath. Three times for a short while it just stood on my hands. I got that bird three days ago.
seriously though, you got the poop thing right, and the grab thing right because bird poo is just a everyday thing for bird owners. if you are a new bird owner don't worry so much about poo getting everywhere. and for the grabbing thing, for one of my pet cockatiels, she always runs very fast to avoid being grabbed.
New bird owner here (3 male budgies) I have a question to all bird owners. What is the most cost effective and hygienic way to remove poop ? Using only wet wipes is not exactly economical in the long run (At least not where I live) I tend to use at least 10-15 wet wipes every day. Is there a smart way of keeping the house tidy from Bird poop and what should I use? Thanks for answering
I've had my parrot for a long time, but when I was smaller I didn't know how to take care of him. Now that he's 5 years old, he doesn't go outside very often and when he does go out, he doesn't explore or play, he just wants to sing with me and go back to the cage. I know what to do to make him happier
My talking budgie knows when I am about to film him talking, even when I hid behind a wall and put the phone on a selfie stick. He still knew I was there.
Birds are extremely smart, I just bought conures that never had any attention or interaction, they never been out of the cage, they learned hand gestures within about 3 days, learned to dance in 2 days and sing, and they freak out when ever they can’t lay eyes on me, and it feels really good because they didn’t want anything to do with humans, now they want my attention all day and night, they sneak up on the food I eat and have to try it, they have to try my drinks, lol birds are very funny also, they have such a personality and even my bird wants to jump up on my phone as he has just now and he’s basically blocking my screen and chewing my case lol
You are absolutely right l can never hide anything from my bird like if I eat a snack she directly fly and try to eat it but I won't let it eat and that exact time she will be angry on me and start chirping loudly 😂
When I was down with fever and in bed, my budgies that have the cage on the opposite side of the room flew on the book shelf close to me but could not land BCS of the books. So I moved the books and they came back and were sitting and shitting my shelf for 3 days until I got out of my bed. They were paying there and would go to their cage to eat and drink only. It mean't so much since I live alone.
I rescued four budgies from a hoarding/ breeding situation and watching this at least I know they are happy with me and they are still scared of hoomans but they are getting used to me. And they trust me so that’s big!
I keep two, they my babies 😅, I made their own big flight cage, I made them a feed station, they love it, I made toys that they enjoy eating to destroy 😅 and outside of cage perches. It's loved
I keep budgies as a family member we eat most the time same things we both like corriander and lettuce 😂😂in some time they force me to think that they are goats as they ate the grass i kept inside there nest😂
This is a really bad idea, please don’t do this! I’ve read far too many stories from people who have slept next to their birds who one morning wake up to find out they have crushed and killed their bird in their sleep. Please keep your bird safe by letting it sleep in a cage!
@@xyz7572 That would be terrible. Id never forgive myself. THANKYOU kindly for your information. I will change habits. He mostly jumps into his cage at night anyways. He likes his cages anyways. THANKYOU 🐦💜

Oh, yes. My house chicken definitely knew when I was ill or upset. If I was sick, she'd lay on me and pancake to keep me warm, if I cried she stroked my cheek with hers and nuzzled into my neck. You have to TELL them you are going to pick them up. Give them a moment.
I have watched every possible video to keep my budgies healthy and happy. They have a flight cage, healthy food, cage cleaned daily fresh veggies, safe toys, they even watch tv or listen to music. They were not spoiled but nurtured. They were always happy. They had a really safe environment. Last week I found one dead on the bottom of the cage. She wasn't acting sick, no scents, temperature consistent without draft. Not only am I upset but my other budgie is lost without her pal. Should I get another cage? or this it's just because they are stressed with moving and maybe they will calm down after a few days and won't try to escape again
