      My guess id the first story is true that the did not meet with Carson. The second time he told the story, he chose to make it more interesting, saying he did meet with him and fabricated the details. Artistic license.

    • @maureentrant5588
      @maureentrant5588 2 роки тому +3

      I was thinking that, too. Many times he’s told Letterman and others how he went to Johnny Carson’s office and he wanted Norm to read Larry King’s comments with him . I ‘m pretty good at remembering what people say to me, and I hate when they later change their story or deny what they said to me before. That’s what I’ve noticed with Norm , during all his material I’ve binged on during the past year. He’s changed details in his stories and refuted things that he said years ago. Last night, I watched a Canadian standup act he did in the eighties. He said during his act that he had just quit smoking. He said that on every show he’s ever been on over the years.I even heard Joe Rogan say he flew on a plane with Norm, and Norm kept saying he needed a cigarette. Well, apparently Joe said “ I thought you didn’t smoke”and Norm said “I quit”, but as soon as they got into the airport Norm bought some cigarettes.This was much later in his life. Now I don’t know what to believe! Was Norm always telling tall tales or was it due to his double life of wanting to hide the truth about his Cancer and the obvious signs of his failing health. They say it’s like murderers or anyone who’s a pathological liar…. you have to have an excellent memory to keep all your lies straight cuz that’s how you get caught by always changing the story.It’s just heartbreaking to know now in retrospect that he had death hanging over his head all of those years but was able to discuss his beliefs about his journey toward God and death without anyone who knew him guessing that he was seriously ill.A lot of his comedy friends said later that Norm acted like someone who couldn’t manage his life without a handler.That was what Lori Jo H. was; like a girl Friday.How could they have a platonic relationship for over 30years?There was a cloud of mystery around Norm. Was he just having everybody on? The years and years of cancer were true, though.My heart breaks for him when I watch all these YT clips about him knowing now what he knew…. that he was rapidly approaching his earthly demise. He was very courageous in how he handled himself. I would have chosen assisted suicide, but I’m a coward.Norm was a mystery wrapped in an enigma. I know that he is now at rest and he will meet Jesus at the resurrection.I really wish I had known him. I miss you and love you, Norm💔🥀🕊️

    • @pelloo3627
      @pelloo3627 3 роки тому +32

      Yes I noticed that too! I have recently been on a bit of a Norm MacDonald "marathon" and saw the other interview, which was a earlier Larry King interview. He tells the story of being invited over to Carson's office were they both did their impressions of Larry King. But this repetition of stories and change of endings got me very suspicious of why Norm would do this. My most plausible theory for this is that Norm is testing Larry to see if he remembers it and he also turns the ending of the anecdote into a joke.

      @@TeethLikeKnives It’s not show biz.. it’s Norm messing with Larry by using the same context and wording of a story he’s already told Larry but flipping the script, like “I almost had a chance to meet Johnny Carson because of my impression of you” to “I met Johnny carson and we did impressions of you in his house”...
      At this point I have watched so many of norms videos that I know better than to believe a Norm story to be true.. more than Larry King obviously. Norm is messing with Larry without Larry even knowing it, all while making him laugh and engage in his made up story he already told him in a different way..
