- In this video I have 6 weeks until the UCCUK Dyno day so engine removal and adapter system needs to be covered along with cooling essentials and axles.
Can't wait for part 2 ! It's so nice to watch a fellow Englishman building cars. No fancy music royalty free UA-cam music. No over the top dramatic" energy"
. Just a man in a shed with a CNC machine, a nice dog and a £3000 steam cleaner.
Totally agree...
I thought it was a 3000£ dog and a dramatic steam cleaner lol
"yes it's not going to be the most powerful thing there" That aged well...
"Don't be ridiculous, I've got African heritage" 😂😂
You know in Costa Rica i have seen all types of turbo diesel conversions into land rovers. The most popular is the hyundai or Mitsubishi turbo diesel 2.5L it has a good amount of power, better than factory thats for sure. And good fuel economy. Also easy to modify the rotary mechanical IP. But i have never seen a OM605-6 in one. That will need a much stronger rear axle. As the Land Rover axles tent to snap off on the ends of the spline inside the Diff housing.
Not floor pans 🫤
The called foot wells!
Because water comes though the dash vents! And I traps the water in 🤷🏻♂️ the foot well 🤓🇬🇧🤦🏻♂️
Om605/606 defender conversion would be great since original diesel isn't powerful enough and later discovery adds fancy electrics
A diesel with a manual pump you need an alternator. Basic mechanics 101😜🤣 I though U know that
great job looking foward to part 2 already . just wondering what type engine oil do you use in the om606 given high proforamce and power
70w90
Just put it back as standard 2l spreadbore Anything this old needs preserving not messed with. Original it will be worth much more. I would forget the competition and just enjoy it as a series one orig!

HI, I am restoring a Range Rover suffx F, with a overdrive , looking to find a gearbox cover (the one that goes under) for it can you help me?
do a Pinzgauer next
No way years and years ago we brought a Range Rover classic off that guy coverd in spiders 😂
Run really long jump leads from the series to the disco 😂
It’s a shame he looks like Quite a nice vehicle the trouble is they’re all becoming buggered up these cars these days shame
Just out of interest, would you be interested in buying a 2002 Nissan Patrol? All working, taxed and MOT'd.
Send me over the details and pics via email
Excellent stuff the German BMW engine they put in the P38 Range Rover was awful and the electronics where also crap. At least we all have low expectations and are surprised by our landrovers.
Is that old Riccall pit? Went for a look round that when it closed down
bmw has the same quality as land rover
can you remove your dog's hair from the car? forgot to say that I spray the carpet with water / vinegar mixture before wiping. vinegar removes the smell of the dog when it dries.
Great to see the backyard! I noticed a rock where the timeline of the rock appears. on the left side of the car .. this old car looks great! our family car was a 1981 Range Rover. it was a good car. Unfortunately, Finnish law and the price of petrol affected the replacement of the machine. fiat diesel engine was then a good engine .. it was someone's "truck engine ... now i could build an original engine V8 aluminum block for some hotrod car ..;)
How much you want for those mercades w210 shells you scrap? You can keep the engines
Power steering and air conditioning
If the transfer box and main box are one unit, its probably a Land rover 101 FC LT95 box
Learn to double declutch.
How can I get parts for one of these engines
Fantastic video! This series will no doubt be a DPUK classic. Best wishes from across the pond.
Fabulous looking forward to the GMC video set😀👍
Awesome, I'm glad to see you doing stuff like this! Are you going to lift or lower it? That thing is going to feel like a death trap with the factory suspension and an extra 150 horse.
I really appreciate all the pointers you give out for free along the way too.
Great video lad, hope the chassis isn’t too bad on her. You have an awesome work ethic, very calm and good humoured. 👌
I’ve had one coil of an alternator/stator die on both cars and bikes before, usually you can keep on going on the 66% amount of power the remaining two coils put out, as long as you don’t hit traffic or stop the engine.
" I wouldn't be able to put the engine back in this badly, so I wouldn't do it at all" hahaha. Well said.
Really cool stuff and good tip on the engine measuring. Looking forward to part 2 the pictures of the finished engine are beaut, and shout out to the camera woman too
my buddy had a diesel one of these ages ago. 1st gear was somewhere over in the glovebox area and 2nd was in the passenger seat. so vauge.. liked to turn hard right under braking to.
Be a slow trip with the series one towing the disco 😂😂
Except not that one with a v8 in it already
Maybe you should have towed the disco home with the 1 series!
Your shop dog looks cool!
That aluminum buick was also kinda epic.
Loving these new videos lads, could watch them all day
just subbed cant wait to see next video this is what building engines and fitting them is all about
"It's not going to make the most amount of hp on the day" well that was a lie
So keen on part 2!
Cheers from AU
I believe grandpa 1 series was too heavy .
My brother used to own that series 1 12 years ago!
Excellent vid as always 👍💪
