Please help spread the awareness.
I did not realize how much of an epidemic scamming was until I found myself in the middle of it. There are so many people out there who are falling for these scams that to many of us consider "obvious." These scammers are professional in what they are doing, having the appropriate resources and knowledge on the people they are contacting.

Come to ohio the first state that does :)
*facepalm af*
I've never used bitcoin so dont know much about it, except yea lol obviously the IRS doesnt take it lol, but there isnt a way to cancel the transaction within so many hours? That might be a way for companies like bitcoin to fight these scams. If you can cancel once you've been made aware within so many hours say, that wouldn't help the scammers and people wouldn't lose money from it. Of course, you'll have people who abuse the system. That'll always happen however.

People lose money everyday to scammers and these scammers are getting better at their job everyday. I heard so many stories, spoke to so many victims 😢
I mean... the name of the video says it's a scam, you aren't exactly Sherlock.
I work with the post office, we had an old lady send off $10,000 dollars in cash off to some address in Austin, TX that she for some reason was convinced to believe that was a government office. Like she was sending money across the country rather than to any local, state, or national office lol. I still hope that the postal office in Austin managed to get her package before it went out

Coffee Grim My introduction to the scam was several years ago, I wasn't very computer savvy then. A guy with an Indian accent called from "Microsoft" with troubling news that my PC was being attacked & he was coming to my rescue. I'm thinking, "How could he know my computer is being attacked?" So I asked & he said Microsoft monitors their customers computers. I'm thinking, "That has to be several million (tens of millions?) computers world wide, no way". I played along a bit, still unsure, hoping for clues for legit or no. He directs me to an error log file (not what he called it) which is filled to the brim since I'd never cleared it (or knew it existed). Now I see he's a scammer because it's error log files, not attack attempt files & proceed to waste an hour + of his time. Finally I lower the boom which upsets him to the point where he's telling me he & the guys are screwing my wife in the office. I said, "I hope you all are wearing condoms because she's a dirty whore who will screw anything, that's why I divorced her." Next he says they're doing my mom to which I reply, "When you're done with her could you ask her to call me? She's been dead three years & I figured she'd call her only son after rising from the dead instead of banging a bunch of towel heads." Now he doesn't know what to do after his best insults had no affect so he calls me a mother fucker. At that I acted offended, repeating in an angry questioning tone, "Mother fucker?! MOTHER FUCKER?" He starts laughing & repeating, "Yes, you are a mother fucker!" thinking he has finally injured me in some way. I calmly replied, "Well, if you would stop selling your mother's ass on every street corner I'll stop fucking her." The guy lost his freaking mind. I cannot put into words the severity of the guy's freak out. It was so far off the chart it wouldn't surprise me if he's still in a mental institution to this very day. I swear on my life I have not had another scam call since. BTW, I'm not an only child, my Mom is alive & well but my ex is a cheating whore that got kicked to the curb. Thanks for reading my short story/essay.

I feel like it is time we start implementing this stuff in the schoolsystem.
Teach kids how to recognize a scam and what to do when they are contacted.
Kids know about this, literally look up scam baiter, you need to tell your grandparents about this. When I worked asset protection at a large chain store and this was becoming more popular, I told all the cashiers it if elderly person came up trying to buy thousands inq gift cards to immediately call me to the register. It was literally exactly this, an old man or women stuck on the phone, frightened visibly cause the way these POS talk to them is horrific, they were trying to buy thousands in gift cards, Google play, apple, visa, etc. So I would walk up and ask them calmly, sir are the person your on the phone with from the IRS or someone like your bank saying that you owe them money and telling you to stay on the call. Every single one nodded their head, I said ok do you mind if I speak to them for a moment. Some where hesitant some weren't, I always put it on speaker so they could hear, and half way through the, "Irene, Irene did you get the cards?" I would cut in and say hey so you're the IRS? And then they would be like excuse me who is this? Cut to the chase and I would tell them to fuck themselves, in the nicest way possible it still that was the gist I even learned how to say, "I fucked your mom" in Hindi so that the customers didn't know what I was saying to them lol, so when I said that and they exploded and started cursing and stuff in their shit accident. I would point to the phone and shake my head and hang it up. I would then explain the IRS would never do this, and directed them to the IRS website, so they could see it stating they would never be called and only receive mail etc. I promised them it was a scam and would make point like what professionals would use that type of language? Etc. QI literally had 80+ year old men and women break down in tears saying that they were so scared because they didn't know how they were going to afford the months after paying, the highest was a man who was directed to go to multiple stores to get 10k! In gift cards thankfully he came to my store first. This was one part of my job I really was thankful for, as preying on elderly people is fucking disgusting. I would have the transaction cancelled, but most of the cashiers wouldn't even ring them up before calling me, and speak with them a bit more on the type of scams happening these days, when I referred to it as the common day Nigerian prince scam a lot seemed to be able to "click" it together since that was more their time period. But I did this 10+ times in the 4 years working there. The people who do this are literally the scum of the earth, don't even deserve to be alive, just wasting oxygen. I would try to calm the people down and they would be much calmer I promised them if they had any trouble, because they threaten the elderly saying if you don't do this you will be arrested etc. I had to guarantee a couple that if any police contacted them, to have them call me and gave them my name and phone number, but at that point all believed me, and all were just super thankful. Even one person's whole family came in and thanked me as the woman was too scared to call her family and went straight to our store. That was a nice moment. But ya litterally fuck these guys. If you have older parents, grandparents, let them know if anyone ever calls or asks for cash or gift cards for debt owed. To just immediately hang up the phone. I'm glad @Scam Baiter, and others like him are taking more action instead of trolling and actually hacking call centers and spying on them and then building a case which they turn over to the Indian authorities who then have at this point arrested a few ENTIRE call centers. Or just deleting all their files and stuff and bricking their pcs, it's great content, and they deserve it all and so so much more.
RuneScape should be mandatory in schools. Agreed.

P.s I appreciate your closing statement, I can tell that you were also worried people might think you’re racist or stereotyping, but I honestly don’t think anyone with a brain would, the situation as a whole added up to being a scam, also there’s “in the heat of the moment” stuff nothing you said was wrong.
“New Yark, you’re not from New York, you can’t even fucking say it right”

@James Michael they teach you how to hate yourself for being white
That's why I homeschool my children and teach them things like this. It's so important. I don't understand why schools don't teach the kids and prep them for real life situations. It's all focused on test scores and not on actual lessons that really matter.
@@aprilrojo8106 Schools seem to teach obedience more than anything else. They don't let students really choose what they want to learn. Only taught to shut-up and do their work otherwise they are failures. If I ever have children I'll homeschool most of it but send them to school for what I feel is necessary and teach the important stuff at home, or Volunteer to teach "Adult" classes. they'll think it's sex ed when really it's taxes, bills, and how to avoid scams. The first red flag was the IRS contacting you through the phone. The IRS will never contact you by telephone or email. They only contact you though the old snail mail. That’s all you need to know.
I’ve gotten calls from these scammers and I usually play along with them and say I’m refusing to pay my tax. Then I tell them to go ahead and send the Sheriff to get me because I’m refusing to pay. They really don’t know what to do at that point, other than to make threats and hang up the phone, hoping you get scared and call back.
NEVER, ever believe the IRS is contacting you if it does not come in the mail. I don’t know if they ever change that, but for now, they only use mail. No call, no emails.
I actually did this for an elderly Passenger when I was an Uber Driver. I drove him to a store and he bought an $500 Apple Gift card. He was reading the number to someone on the phone and I asked him what he was doing. He said he was Paying Taxes. I grabbed his phone and hung up on the caller. They called him back and I answered. Carlos Meza the scammers usually fool older people and they like to shout and threat and that’s how they scam.
They convinced my dumb ass great-aunt to sell her car and give them $16k even when my grandmother told her a hundred times not to do it because it was a scam. You'd think she learned her lesson that time, but she did it AGAIN despite my grandmother's second protest and lost another $3k. My grandmother manages her money now because she's too incompetent to do it herself (she also has an online gambling addiction). Yeah dude
Same I just said I don’t have a computer
Yeah that happened to my mother. They said that she had a virus on her laptop. She doesn’t even own a laptop. They continued saying that she had a virus here and there in her computer, she tried explaining that she didn’t have a laptop then all of the sudden they started threatening her. Like how she’s going to end up in jail and saying how she’s going to be in “big trouble”. My sister got pissed when she found out and called back and just clapped their ass smh.

The second he said, "I already gave them $3,000.00" my stomach and jaw dropped. Also, let's not be too hard on this guy. Remember that a lot of these scammers go for gullible or elderly people. It may seem like an obvious and stupid mistake when we're looking at the situation from the outside, but this was clearly a new learning moment for him. So glad he had a kind driver to help him before he lost even more money.
Anyone can fall for it most people think they are gonna outsmart them. But at the heat of the moment you think might be true. The scams arent always like that, for example, my father got a call years ago from "me or my brother" as if we were kidnapped, the first thought my father had was to call my mom, but she didnt have her cellphone, and I think mine was off, so my dad was scare to shit. Thankfully my dad could reach my mon and told him everything was fine.
So yeah sometimes this assholes get you in a moment were you are thinking right.
This is actually fake. He didn’t give them 3,000. If they had the money they would have hung up.
@@erik9358 not really, if he already gave them 3k, why would they not try to get more? Has this video been prove fake? Or is you just saying is fake?
@@erik9358 why would they hang up when there's a good chance that they could make this guy give them another 3 grand? If he already did it once then they're gonna do & say everything they can to get the rest of his $
That's crazy that people fall for this when the IRS website itself warns about this exact type of shit. If u dont receive official documentation from the real IRS office stating how much u owe them & for what years u owe them....its a scam. & I definitely know being that I just had to pay the REAL IRS over $10,000 just last year. Oh & just because it's the real IRS you're dealing with doesn't mean it's not a scam. They're the biggest gang of "legal" crooks there is....they rob people blind with no ski masks or guns & some government identification!!
@@erik9358 why on earth would they hang up they wanna take as much money as they can this only works on about 1 in 500 ppl they call they basically hit the jackpot!

So you mean if an Indian citizen works in USA he has to have an american accent?
That's not fair dude.
@@Parv_Not_Perv well its not that simple
Because of the reputation scammers have of most of the time being indian i dont think a company would hire a person with a indian accent to manage calls, im not saying they cant be hired but they would rather hire him to do a diferent job and because of that the reputation is made bigger because companies wouldnt hire people with indian accents for calls which means if the person is indian it is more likely to be a scam. Back in 2014 my husband got a call saying he owes taxes to the IRS and if he doesn’t pay he will get arrested. I think it was like $1800. They told him the same thing , not to hang up, and he has to pay right now, and get gift cards and send the money like that etc. My husband panicked and proceeded to go to the drugstore to buy the cards. I called our accountant and explained what was going on and she said there shouldn’t be a problem and that it’s got to be a scam because they don’t call or work that way. When my husband told them that we didn’t receive any letter in the mail, the guy said well maybe your son( he called by name) threw it away and that’s a federal crime and the police will arrest him. When he said his name we just panicked. To make a long story short my husband was in the drugstore looking for the gift cards , a gentleman employee saw my husband freaked out, on the phone getting directions on how to send the money AND BY GOD’S GRACE the employee knew what was going down. He basically took the phone from my husband and told them off and we will report it to the police. He just saved us. We tried calling the IRS but no answer like usual 🙄😡. I’m sorry the young man lost his money, it’s a large amount. Thank you to the Uber driver❤️👍. The sad thing is that people are still getting scammed. The scammers are everywhere.
