    For the multiple choice options, I think it will be easier to do one box with text, then grouped and copy paste twice. Then just edit the texts in the second and third boxes. But great tutorial nevertheless!

    I think Genially is wonderful. As a TPT author, have you listed any of your Genially products on TPT? If so, is it easy for teachers to access the Genially lesson?

    This is excellent and very clear. Thank you! What's to stop a student from just tapping the small arrow at the side to go the next slide?

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  3 роки тому

      Hi Batya! Thanks for watching and commenting. Unfortunately, at this time, there is not a way to stop students from moving to the next slide without answering. That is why I recommend using Genially only as quick, formative assessments.

      @@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom Thanks :) I found out how to do it. Click the wand on the first page. Then click Navigation and Microsite. All the indicators and arrows will disappear and students will only be able to move ahead by clicking the 'interactive' buttons.

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  3 роки тому

      Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. I love Genially, but the one down side is that it does not allow you to track student data or responses. That is why I always recommend these as formative assessments rather than summative assessments. Students can self-check their work and then let you know how they did though. Hope this helps!

    Is there a way to make it so you can't go to the next slide unless answered? Since a student could just skip the question all together and click next slide and just see a "correct".

      Unfortunately, I am not aware if there is a way to do that at this time. Genially was create to act more as an interactive presentation tool. There are ways to create quizzes, etc. in the platform (like what I have showed here) but there are going to be some limitations since that is not what it was created for. I know the team at Genially is working hard to keep making improvements for educators so hopefully we'll see something like that in the future.

    Thanks a lot! But I still didn't really get grouping and ungrouping? What is it for ?

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! Grouping puts all the objects that you group together. That way when you click on them, all the parts act as one. Hope this helps!

      What I am trying is to incorporate Genially presentations in my online classroom environment, so that student and I both could click and use all the interactive tools simultaneously, that would be amazing

      Hi Ivy! Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, Genially does not provide options for teachers and students to interact with the same presentation at the same time. You could share your screen via Zoom (or any online learning video conferencing platform that you are using). Students could see you interacting with your version of the presentation on your screen but they would need to have their own version open in a second window to interact with.
      If you want to be able to interact with students in real time within the presentation, you may be better off creating something similar in Google Slides or Google Jamboard (both allow for collaboration). We have a few videos here on our channel that provide more information about how to use those collaboratively. I'll link a few that you may be interested in below.

      I just saw you also use ClassIn, that's great! If you should pick one platform for teaching Chinese students online, which one would you choose? Lately Chinese ESL companies are being shut down and I am exploring all the options for continuing to teach privately as requested by my regular students and their parents. So far I found out about ClassIn, Voov / Tencent meeting (similar to Zoom), DingTalk, WeChat video, and I still don't know and don't understand how to make my lesson material collaborative during class itself as it was the case while teaching for a company such as VipKid. Thank you for all of your insights, I really appreciate your feedback.
