When presenting, you must share the presentation using the link and access code (as shown). The presentation itself is not through Google Slides. If you want to present the Pear Deck presentation with your students virtually, you will need to share your screen with your students. I hope that all makes sense.
@@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom Thank you for the response. I believe it does. Hi Markela! Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, your students should be able to join without a Google account. Just share the presentation with them the way I show in the video. When they go to the link and insert the password for the presentation, it shouldn't ask them to log in to anything.
Thank you for your suggestions. So far I found if I make google slides from the beginning, I can find "add ons" button there with one choice being "pear deck for google slides add-on". Otherwise, if I upload already-made ppt to my google drive, "add ons" button is not shown when I try to edit it with pear deck.
Hi Weijun! It is hard for me to troubleshoot this problem since I can't see your screen. As long as you are working on the Slides in edit, I am not sure why you are unable to open Pear Deck. I have found Pear Deck's help site to be very useful whenever I have encountered a problem. I recommend you check there to see if it has any suggestions. Here is the link: help.peardeck.com/ Hope that helps!
Hi! Thanks for watching. No, the students do not need to have the Pear Deck add-on installed. The add-on is only needed for creating the presentations. Students just need to type in the site I show in the video and use the code you give them to access your specific presentation. Hope this helps!
I have a question. I have to click add on Pear Deck each time I make a new presentation or just one time for all. Thank you if you can answer my questions.
Hi Tiana! Thanks for watching. You should only have to open Pear Deck once at the start of the presentation. The window on the right side of the screen will stay open until you exit out of it.
This was easy to learn from. How could it be using for PreKindergarteners? Could they listen to a story and respond to an open ended question or draw their favorite part? What about during the Beginning of the year? How could I use it to find out about them? Like: What do you want the world to know about you? Could I use it for them to create a self portrait of themselves? Any ideas? Do you just change the slides weekly after viewing and documenting responses?
Hi Stephanie! Thanks for watching and commenting. For PreK, I would avoid anything to requires typing or writing. I would also be cautious about doing multiple choice unless you keep simple and use the audio feature to record narration for each questions. With children that young, using the drawing tool and drag and drop tool. For example, after listening to a story, they could draw what happens at the beginning of the story or their favorite part of the story. Activities such as that would work great with the younger ones.

Hi Rajni! Thanks for watching. Pear Deck is a great way to engage your students, especially if you are teaching remotely. I hope you enjoy using it this school year!
Thank you for the explanation. I have a question. Is the multiple choice question only poll the student answer but can't provide which of the option is the correct answer or give a score like kahoot, nearpod etc? Thanks
Hi Ria! Thanks for watching. I am sorry but I am not understanding your question. You can learn more about Pear Deck multiple choice questions by visiting their help site though. Here is their page about multiple choice: www.peardeck.com/pear-deck-blog/2018/12/5/best-practices-multiple-choice
In nearpod/kahoot, in the multiple choice question, let see you set 4 option answers (A,B,C,D), then you can set which one is the correct answer. So if the students choose the correct answer, the got a point/score. I didn't see it in your pear dock video. So i ask, whether pear dock can do the similar thing like kahoot/nearpod

Hi Sherry! Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you and your students enjoy using Pear Deck!
Thank you for the video! Can students use pear deck without having to sign into a google account?
Hi Markela! Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, your students should be able to join without a Google account. Just share the presentation with them the way I show in the video. When they go to the link and insert the password for the presentation, it shouldn't ask them to log in to anything.
@@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom Thank you:) I’ll try it!
Here is the link: help.peardeck.com/
Hope that helps!
Great! Thank you so so much!

Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting! I hope you and your students enjoy using Pear Deck.
Do the students need to have pear deck added to their chromebook to use the google slide deck with pear deck addons?
Activities such as that would work great with the younger ones.
this is so helpful. Godbless! love from the Philippines... 😊

Hi Zury! Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you and your students enjoy using Pear Deck this school year!
@@riaariarini8553 No, you can not mark the correct answer with multiple choice.
@@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom thank you for your explanation
