This Pedal Access Bike Park is Highly Underrated

- We had a super busy week gearing up for the grand opening of the trail Hailey and I built over the past year Skidmarks. We also have a trip to Quebec coming up and they wanted us to bring our both our Ebikes and regular bikes. Over the winter we changed a few parts on our bikes so this ride was just an excuse to test them out and explore a place we don't ride often.
Riding Saskadena 6 with Hailey in Woodstock Vermont part of Wamba's Trails
Glad to see you return to S6! I did a summers worth of shovel work and tamping on those trails the summer we opened it. The flow is so nice, shout out to Sinuosity Trails for building them.
Sweet video Phil! Thanks for posting
Those trails look sweet. Great video !!
sick video phil! that place looks like a blast
Need to get back there this summer! Looks like a lot of fresh trail work 🎉
It's riding better than ever
Awesome dirt wish I had something like that local
Been earning my turns there since lockdown. They only ran lifts for one season, then lockdown so they just opened to public and gave trail maintenance to the local crew that also does Peg. This season they reworked most everything over the past few weeks so it’s a total refresh. Such a cool spot, they even allow overnight in the lot. Hit this in the AM, then Tunnel Ridge in the PM (or with lights).
I haven't been here yet, gonna have to check it out. Just did waitsfield over the weekend and had a good time, limited downhill but beautiful location.
I would recommend doing it as an add onto a primary ride at mount peg or the aqueduct.
Waitsfield is fun if you can organize some shuttles.
I'm not a huge fan of ebikes but as a shuttle replacement 👌 also there's a lot of places I can't bring my very loud modded YZ325 😂
Phil! you taught me how to bunnyhop on a reddit post a few years ago thanks for that!
That's so awesome 🤘
I wish I could talk directly to pros when I started 30 yrs ago...
I'm not sure if you changed the camera or something, but the POV feeling is absolutely amazing here
Nice to see you both out on your Eebs 🤙
I too own a GT Force Amp+
It's very much customized... 36 Factory Fork @160... Kitsuma Coil Shock w/ 600lb Spring (250lb rider)... DT Swiss 350 hubs on Spank rims (mullet w/ steel freehub)... Shimano XT 12 Speed Drivetrain w/ 12 Speed Sram NX Cassette... 150mm Giant Contact Dropper... 160mm Shimano Cranks... Spank bar and stem combo... Continental Argotal front and Kryptotal rear (both 2.6)... Burgtec (brown) grips... Chagre Cooker Saddle (brown)...
Shimano XT SPD Trail pedals 🤘
Never rode it in 29er mode (straight to MX). With longer fork and smaller rear wheel, its nice and slack up front. The 160mm cranks were both necessary and wanted. Necessary as the stock ones were coming loose and wanted for extra ground clearance.
My size L came with a 125mm dropper!?
Stock stem and bars were poo. Even came with the ole hairspray on grips!?
Other than those gripes, I love how it's setup and rides 😘
Tis my daily driver.
The shortish reach and smaller rear wheel helps with the playful factor.
Anything else to change?
I could go a 650lb spring, which would give up some small bump compliance, but would aid in preventing bottom outs when sending to flat.
Bike is super capable. It covered my butt during my last Enduro Race, which was sektchy and wet ☠️
Got mine for $7099 NZD (usually priced around $10K NZD).
They were giving them away just after Xmas for $5K NZD!!
Most of parts changed out I already had, except the Kitsuma Coil.
As a bigger guy, witb a hefty Eeb, I thought a Coil shock just made sense.
Recouped some of expenditure selling the stock shock as new.
Sold the stock wheels and Yari fork as part of another built up bike.
Probably came out about even on the $$ front.
Thing looks industrious and sexy. Wub my Eeb 😍
Phil's trail speed is not everybody else's trail speed!
@11:37 I love my Ride Concepts Tallac Clips! They fit me really well, but I would like a wider toebox. Very durable, good pedaling platform and serve me well in all conditions. I know what you mean about more vertical room for the toes. I have a slip-on pair of shoes that need that for sure but the RC's seem good for my toes.
there is a hill near us that stop lift service the year pandemic started, looks like insurance. they scaled down the trails, got ride of most jumps and wood features, and now you pay to pedal. there is another place in NY, they run dirt bikes, ATV, all type of off road trucks but bikes! just because of insurance. they claim to be open limited mtb service this summer
I miss riding the lift at the S6 bike park!
I really wish i took more advantage of it when it was a thing :(
Looks great, Never been though. What might you compare the climb to? Bolton, Cochran?
Closer to Bolton imo.
You should Come black in Bromont! They rebuilt several trails and added many jumps. You visited too early in the season
What kind of features have they added? I’m going later in august
I'll be back eventually
"plunges in molten steel"
What's that grinding engine-like noise at the start of the video?
Sounds like a someone wheezing and puking up the stairs
Trails looked great....why was no one else there? watchin you go from light to shade is some scary stuff,
It was in the middle of the week. We started sometime in the early afternoon and when we got done a bunch of cars started pulling in. Literally once i stopped recording the outro 6 cars trickled in within 10 minutes of each other.
Is that a Thule 2 bike rack on the back of your car?
nice
What bike are you using?
Sounds like an E bike
when are you guys in quebec? i'll be in sdm july15-18
Are you coming back to bromont this season?
Perhaps but not in the immediate future
Which ergon grips are those Phil
Hi ❤
Hello Jax
I live like 20 minutes from there but have never ridden it
Every time i case a jump my headset develops play.
Going to try a cheap Hussefelt stem and see if it is as grunty as they claim.
Are you tightening your stem/headset enough?
@@SkillsWithPhil With a torque wrench, yes, still slops out, over tightening reduces it but getting close to stripping the thread out.
I'm a sparky i tighten critically important fittings every day.
@@SkillsWithPhil Figured it out, dodgy star nut not holding in the steerer tube.
Tunnel Ridge or bust.
shoe stretchers work well my friend…
I stretched them beforehand. Still very tight
@@SkillsWithPhil thats not good..
I'm hoping the mid sole around the toes pack in.
Is this gonna be another electric bike channel now?
Yeah, only ebikes from here on out. ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
@@SkillsWithPhilJust checking! 😎
Let Hailey try fox fork on her non e-bike
That fork was is specific to her ebike. It doesn't fit any of our others and we aren't in the business of reviewing suspension.
First
Suicide six*
Hence "formerly suicide 6"
I think something is wrong with you guys bikes! Making a weird sound 🤔 seems to only happen when peddling.
They are on e-bikes
@@samuilpetkov9172 no really? 😂 Was a joke 🤦🏻♂️
@@mikeburgh3956hilarious…
I hate that sound, except when I need a tow 😂
@@LaurentiusTriarius 😂
60 views in 3 minutes, this guy's falling off
Yeah his videos are too wholesome and actually real since most people have the attention span of a squirrel and go for click bait, false advertisements and love when the mountain biker includes sponsorships from their underwear to their fork all the way to the electrolytes they drink just to make a buck 🤣
Keep up the realness and quality videos Phil! The real ones will keep enjoying your amazing content
🤷♂️ Not everything needs to be sensationalized. Sometimes the boring rides are more interesting.
@@Couffee Was meant to be a joke.
