All the masks are new, but Mick, Craig and Jim have always had very similar masks for every album.
I think my favorite Jim mask was the full face zipper lips for AHIG
UnholySermons I’d say no to that, it’s because their masks are perfect, no need for change there would be no point and knowing the fan base they would complain about the new look

Jim did change the design of his mask look it up. Also Craig's mask has more of a mohawk with his spikes this time.

Corey and other members have said, that if they ever lost the passion to do Slipknot, they would stop doing it altogether. They've evolved with every album and I love this track, Corey's voice sounds the best since Iowa, I'm really looking forward to WANYK.

Dude. This is the best album since Iowa. Unsainted is amazing and Nero Forte is even better. Just a really really solid album by Slipknot.
The crowd went NUTS when they played this live. So rare for a band over 20 years into their careers to write a song that instantly becomes a fan favorite, but overall this album has been so well received
I would love to see you do a slipknot drum cover (eyeless in particular)

Man when the riff drops is just so fuckin intense. the lead up to it is phenomenal this song is the song of the summer. Even trended number one on UA-cam for a minute and that never happens to metal songs. I cannot wait for this album.
Personally I really like it and I love that they keep on going! I mean, yeah, I do I like there first album more than the rest? Yes, but that's just becuase its heavy and intense and they were insane back in the day, there getting older now and dont think of themselves as kids anymore, they still want to keep doing this becuase this Is what they've done for the past 24 years, and there not 23-31 anymore, clown is 51 now(oldest member) so I'm just glad that they keep doing this and love there fans more than anything! Also they all said back in the day, that if it got to a point to where there playing, JUST to play, they would stop, they havnt stopped. So there just going along in life, which I fully support.

I figured the teaser song would be pretty mainstream. Cant release something to heavy out the gate.

Well if memory serves me correctly Left Behind was the first single off of Iowa and it didn't even get close to the heaviness that is Iowa. Heretic Anthem is my shit.
Corey said specifically that the album has Iowa vibes. This is just a single. Most of their singles are more radio friendly. I doubt that the rest of the album will be like this
I'm a old fan and listening to this is clear to me that they keep getting better and better. Money ain't got to do with anything. If you follow them, you will see that most of them have been through shit and now they are back and rocking, showing why they are still the best heavy metal band.
Maybe they are not angry anymore. Artist evolve with there music. If they stayed the same as there first album then people would complain that they are making the same music. Either way people are gonna be unhappy. Honestly I love the passion Corey has when he talks about the album during interviews it’s awesome. Happy for them as a group to be enjoying the music again
Love it. And btw they do a new mask every album, and if their hardcore aggression is turned down from their first few albums they outside of Mick were heavily into to drugs and drink. It’s called maturing. Slipknot is magic in a bottle that will never be recreated.
They change their masks a bit with each album. Corey is by far the most extreme change
I think the reason their older stuff was better is because of how complicated their older stuff was. The drums in their older songs were so insane and had allot of weird technical grooves. The new drummer is good but Joey just had such a creative mind
Same with paul without them I don't think they dont have the creativity any more

And yah pauls bass lines were amazing and so under rated
One thing i have realised is that Jay uses more his crash cymbal than Joey. I believe Joey prefers hi-hats. And also i realised that Jay likes to add so many unecessary fills. Every live show he plays different fills and he changes his snare sound so many times. Joey most of the times plays the same. I love Jays china tho... Would love to have it.
@@nasku2506 I'm happy I'm not the only one who noticed Jay like to use his cymbals more than Joey. He likes to focus on his cymbals while Joey used drums more.
Unsainted is one of the best songs of Slipknot. I think it's at the same awesomeness level of their old songs.
Usually we get attached to the old ones so we always feel that the old songs were better somehow. My point of view.
I love all the new music. So stoked for the new album. They're incredible at continually making great heavy music.

Yeah Mick's said before he doesn't see a point in changing it cause he got it don't on to begin with so his is always pretty similar just minor finish changes.

As someone who knew who slipknot was when their first album came out, but never actually listened to all of their albums until a few years ago.... you can tell which songs are meant to be this singles without knowing the singles... the rest is aweaome.

Unsainted is definitely a push back in the right direction for Slipknot. I have been to two of their concerts and haven't been disappointed yet.

You have to understand this is the single, it's supposed to be "soft" for radio play. I love the chorus and that breakdown is fucking sick. Just wait there are always tracks on the albums that kill, Chapter .5 Custer,AoV go hard as fuck.
some of them do have new masks ( as if i've been paying attention to slip in recent years, but i've seen a few things )....they may all be new, but mick and jim's masks look pretty much the same. mick has been rocking the same design forever 😄
Mick and Craig always just change theirs slightly. Jim's just keeps getting smaller..think he's sick of wearing one

The band is in a different place creatively than they were in their anksty numetal days. I prefer this new direction because change is good. In slipknot's case, it's for the better imo
Yeah, plus the way Corey was singing in those days.... He wouldn't have a voice at all now. He would've completely destroyed it a while ago. If people want nothing but heavy music, why don't they just go listen to Lamb of God or something? Slipknot's music has gotten much more complex than their Iowa days.

First time I ever saw slipknot was at Ozzfest in West Palm Beach Fl they were on the second stage and I was like oh great another gimmick band... roughly 30 minutes after there set I was hooked ....20 years later maggot for life

Really digging Corey, Sids, Jays, Clowns, and Vmans new masks. Corey’s is like so simple, but he’s such a badass guy that he makes it so awesome. This is definitely one of my favorite Corey Taylor masks.

I thought this was a nice mix of duality and wait and bleed. Oldish feel, digged it. But no not even close to their old stuff. It’s been like that since all hope is gone. Their first 3 were masterpieces
Their new stuff doesnt have the same rough sound. The sharp drums, the grungy more nu sound to it. It's good on its own but not anywhere near slipknots best work.
This is way better then the last two albuks.

I think the reason it's doing well is because of the meaning behind it.... I'll let you investigate and interpret it yourself but in short "I'll never kill myself to save my soul" hits home for a lot of people in different ways depending on how the see it.

This is a reaction so...
I agree that I haven't enjoyed these newer songs as much as their older material, however I've had to come to terms with the fact that slipknot has always been their music and their music has been them. So the the people who created the dark and angry songs of earlier albums have changed and grown up, which means that to hold true to who they are as musician's the music could not be fabricated to resemble something that it once was which they no longer are.

Unsainted is a good song imo and it could be a track in Grey Chapter.
All Out Life reminds me a lot of IOWA and Vol. III ( one mix of them) but I'll always like the old stuff more.

The breakdown sounded, empty. To me it seemed, very average. Chorus was catchy though.

The chorus is extremely catchy which is probably why it was trending so high. Reminds me of Duality in that way. Good song, can’t wait for the album!

That being said, this song isnt the old slipknot. This is them trying to stay relevant. That ALSO being said, they're gonna drop a solid album, but it still wont compare to their old stuff.

Still fire to me ! I think it also has to do with them being smarter and sobering up. Especially Corey. It always seems like some bands like best and hard albums there’s always some group members that are under some influence. So sometimes the anger fades out but the pain and lyrics are there. But as I saw in another comment, someone said this is a softer song. So I’m ducking stoked.

Interesting, I like the chorus from "the devil in i" not sure that's the song title but it's kinda catchy. The full version of psychosocial has a chorus breakdown that's so sick. Actually the song started. You're right. I agree the fade in from the choir is fucking perfect!

I feel that in this video the scarf looks like a neck brace and it looks like it is pushing the mask out sideways to make his face look wider.
Their singles tend to be more radio friendly, and the best songs are buried in the album, like we got killpop and devil in i from .5, then stuff like custer and sarcastrophe within the album
Most of the new stuff doesn't because they've been on hiatus for so long. Theyve been in different bands and have produced different music. So them coming back together like this is merging many new styles into one. In my opinion the new is better. It holds together more and feels less raw. While still appealing to hard rockers and metal fans alike, and holding that famous slipknot dinge we all love. It may sound different but the heart is still the same. They've grown as a band and I cant wait to hear more of them in the coming months or years

So, I only started listening to Slipknot shortly before The Negative One music video came out and then worked my way backwards, so I don’t have the nostalgia factor or bias some older fans might have. That being said, this song isn’t all that special. This song is equivalent to the last album’s Devil in I, and the one before’s Psychosocial. It’s almost exclusively to get radio-play. They were at Jimmy Kimmel recently so I think that kind of thing is exactly what this song is meant for.
All Out Life isn’t anything crazy innovative, but it is Slipknot. You can hear them in it. And I think that makes it a stronger track. Hopefully the only way is up after getting this single out of the way.

New sub. Nice job. I agree with you on the new stuff. Still some great tracks. Early Slipknot to me, had a feel of in the moment life. Learn and grow. Now they are telling the lessons learned. But important to me now, they're keeping it alive the best they can and bring good music to new listeners. My kids love them as I did, and still do.
You also have to remember they are are in their mid-late 40s now. I think they are still bringing it pretty hard considering

I have been a fan of Slipknot for 19 years and have never seen them live. I bought tickets for them in June. Now there's a chance their show will be cancelled because of the goddamned coronavirus
As someone who is relatively new to the genre, this song slaps. I'm more into architects, northlane, and while she sleeps style of music. But this song is pretty slick. Great video!

Wait for the whole album, Unsainted will be their most mainstream song for sure.
The masks are really different for most apart from a few who kept it similar, as far as I can tell Mick Thomson just changed detailing and dimensions, Craig just changed nail lengths and Jim only changed the paint on the mask from having it on both eyes to only one eye.
Sid, Alex, Jay, Clown and Corey have changed their masks yet again for this album cycle and have made big changes since the last, if you need help just look at unsainted compared to devil in I
The third chorus hits different with both Corey’s vocals and the choir together.
