"That was... Different" pretty much what everyone thought when it dropped. Not gonna lie it's kinda grown on me though.
Same, didn't like it at first and now I love it
Same!! Now it’s a favorite driving song to
and from work.. lol!
Corey's new mask is a TFO (Transparent facial Orthosis). It's the mask burn victims wear it during the scar-forming process to help keep the skin flat and smooth, and, in turn, helps the face to heal with the least amount of scarring as possible.
Between .5 and WANYK, Corey got divorced. If anyone has ever been divorced, they can understand the hell it truly is....divorcing a woman that saved his life, along with numerous other hard times (the loss of paul, joey's departure, etc).
Corey is channeling his inner victim and wearing his healing for the world to see. This openness leads me to believe WANYK is going to be great because Corey is truly exposing himself and his pain in a way he has not done since IOWA (and, no, I don't think this album will compare at all to IOWA. Then again, nothing will. The people who made that album no longer exist)...Unsainted is Corey's anthem... "I didn't come this far to sink so low....I'll never kill myself to save my soul".....Corey has been through some SHIT in his life and he's made it this far...his mask and his lyrics are saying "Damaged, but I'm not giving up. I'm still here. I'm reborn"
I wish the gods would grace us with another album like self titled, but it's too much to ask. As long as this is better than The Gray chapter, I'll be really happy.
They said it would be as heavy as iowa not a chance corey has had problem with his vocals so hes got to get that sorted you can tell had downliad his voice aint the same which his why lot of lead singers in heavy bands dont keep doing
Loren Husky A lot of that album was written by people who weren’t even in the band by the time it got released, so that would be quite a difficult ask.
Jesus Christ, man...Let go of the "it's not as heavy as Iowa" shit... they'll never have another album near as angry as Iowa. You know why? Because they're not near as angry now as they were then. Iowa was a bunch of pissed-off 20-something year olds from a small town with nothing to do but drugs and be judged. That was almost 20 years and millions of dollars ago, dude. Corey's 45, now. How pissed off can a 45-year-old multi-millionaire, platinum recording artist, and best-selling author really be?
We're lucky they're still making good metal music at all. That's what you get with rock/metal music. It's real...They write about real shit, real problems in their lives...Corey just went through a divorce (with a woman that once literally saved his life and mothered his children). Clown just lost a child. They draw inspiration from that, but they're not pissed off kids from Des Moines anymore. We're lucky they've stayed relatively true to their sound over the years, but they've grown and changed just like everyone else does.
I don't care how heavy your music is. If I give you millions of dollars and a mansion, platinum albums and numerous best-selling books, you wouldn't be able to write a heavy, angry song for nothing. They still do it and do it damn well.
Just remember: Every great album is drawn from real-life pain. Paul wrote most of their heaviest & best stuff and he's gone. Think of Layne Staley, Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, etc (Unfortunately, that list goes on and on). These guys give us their soul 3 minutes at a time and you're essentially complaining because they're not as miserable as they were 20 years ago. There's a person behind that mask, man.
I’m gonna need them to continue with that dope Choir shit is fire
Slipknot still rocking. we are the pulse of the maggots
Great Song. Hope that Clown is doing okay right now.
Corey has said that this song is the lightest song of the new album, more "radio-friendly." All the other songs will most likely reach that "Iowa level of heavy" that you mentioned.
I fuckin hope so, they lost me after Iowa
Ya they better because i feel like ive been lied to * anger emotion*
@@Transmedal2 Lmfao
They said that All hope is gone was going to be like Iowa but it was a piece of shit. These guys are too old to be heavy again. It's facts.
@@ass2mouthallday its more that they are rich now. Being old has nothing to do with how heavy a band can be but as far as slipknot goes they are rich with family's so for them to make a promise and not fill it dosent matter or affect them in any way
Thank you for not stopping the fucking video and talking ever 10 seconds.
Jay Weinberg is a fucking incredible drummer dont get me wrong, but Joey just had that sauce. Especially the staggers double bass & blast beats
🙏's up for Clown
Sorry to hear about his loss.
Corey's mask is slowly starting to grow on me. A lot of people hate it, and I think that's what Corey was aiming for....just to make us a little uncomfortable lol
Corey's mask is always interesting because he's the only one in the band that needs full jaw motion for singing so it's always a bit strange but I love that about them. I think Vol. 3 was my favorite era mask for him.
Is it just me or did Corey looks like heath ledger joker if he dies his hair green
From a long time fan. I feel this is my new favorite song of Slipknot. It’s a change of style but sooo good
Knotfest2019 in Dallas tx was definitely one of the best days of my life once I get my old phone to charge I might make a video on all the videos I recorded
In my opinion Unsainted and All Out Life are the "radio songs" of this album.
All out life isnt on the album. Thank God.
All out life is not on the album and for good reason it's trash
@@craighauser9482 how dare you
Honestly when this song came on in the car and I was hearing it the first time, I had to pull over and head bang to it. Cant wait for the album
Everyone is saying how this song isn’t close to Iowa when Corey literally said that Unsainted is the least heaviest song on the whole record.
A lot of people also forget the benders that Corey was on during that period in his life as well.
Loved it first listen awesome🤟 and i love how corey can go from heavy to the chorus just like that , he is so fucking talented! Can't wait to see slipknot live in october😁🤟
Played it 10,000 times now, a masterpiece.
Corey Taylor’s new mask makes Corey Taylor look almost like the Joker from The Dark Knight.
I think more of a leatherface mask the old ones.
Word
I FUCKING LOVE SLIPKNOT!! can't wait to get their new album!!
Don’t see how anyone could be hating on this song.
I loved Corey’s mask off the bat. His last one was the worst.
What? The second one from Grey Chapter was the best.
You know they are real fans when they dont pause the fucking song 5 times to say some obvious, meaningless sh*t
Dam straight
3/4ths of the comments are metal elitists calling people posers. the fact that they clicked on a video just to insult peoples taste in music, and they act like they had zero clue that this was a slipknot video like what?
What Slipknot meant by "Iowa Heavy" is like heavy deep, not heavy metal
BigCanadian NRG solway firth
Who's excited for the album? 🤘🏻🔥
I dont know dude. Why some people said slipknot is sold out? Cause they released mainstream metal music? Idnt understand. I think this song is so good expecially for that intro and chorus. (sorry my eng bad)
This song and all of We Are Not Your Kind turned me into a Slipknot fan last year.
Thank you for noticing the Slipknot S on her lips, I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed it.
Definitely need more of this. And thanks for not pausing the video every 15 seconds too give your opinion. It was nice listening too your thoughts at the end. 🤘on maggots
From an interview with Heavy Metal Hill over this weekend, “It is really dark, the music falls in between Iowa and Vol. 3. It is experimental, but heavy as hell. It’s aggressive, but has tons of melodies. I think people are really going to dig it." - Corey Taylor on the sound of the new album. Personally with the single, I didnt expect "Iowa levels of heavy". I bet Corey wished he never said that because everyone has extremely high expectations and wants the darkness & complexity from that album. But I'm eagerly awaiting for the whole thing. RIP Gabrielle Crahan. She was too young to go.
Solway Firth is a Masterpiece, there is something almost psychedelic in this composition and the video is a killer too!
That choir was a great intro
I remember listening to Pyschosocial as a kid and forgetting about Slipknot until this tune came out.
Their songs literally has got over 100 million of views, how lol
@@serhafiye7046
Number of view on their songs -> 100,000,000
Number of people in the planer -> 8,000,000,000
The music was so mindblowing they didnt know how to process it after slipknot not having something exactly like this since 1999 so they had to talk masks lol
You have to admit the masks are and will always be a focal point of the band, especially when it’s the first music video showcasing the new masks
that shit is so relatable,i dont why I didn't even notice my tears falling from my eyes this shits good
Ok for real what is wrong with the comment section on this one. So many people are saying things like:"This and that isn't metal and bla bla bla."
Of course this is metal what else would it be. And even if, do some people really think they are cool because they listen to some extra heavy stuff I mean how childish is that.
"Look at me listening to really heavy music I am so superior and everybody else is just a poser."
Such behavior just shows their undeniable stupidity.
Exactly, a bunch of tools thinking they are cool. This song has similar makeup to wait and bleed and nobody bitches about wait and bleed.
It's pop. ..
@@robzitek5963 uhh whatever
@@robzitek5963 invalid. Pop doesnt have breakdowns and screaming verses.
@@robzitek5963 I don't know what drugs you're on dude but slipknot definitely aint pop lol
Didn’t like this song at first but this shit is bad ass
Adam Purkey it’s definitely one of those tracks that’s better on repeated listens
Agree
In the end it gotcha......some were taken by the song in the first minute.....and some a little later. :-)
Sorry to all the haters, I love new slipknot, I liked old slipknot, I just love the new, more metal sound they have, while still incorporating their hardcore “numetal” roots. I just think they’re great now
They don't sound more metal. They sound more pop now and it's getting worse.
Sure, they have a few pop sounding songs, they are experimenting. I guess it depends on what you consider “metal” you could make an argument that some of the fathers of heavy metal sounded like pop. This song doesn’t make me want to feel happy and jump around through fields of flowers, it also doesn’t make me want to go fuck some liquored up hoe in a club...
A lot of their older music was very hardcore-ish. I just feel they incorporate a lot of that old fast unrelenting hardcore sound with a more melodic metal sound.
I mean, does killswitch sound more metal or pop to you? Does “all that remains” sound more metal or pop to you? I would argue that newer slipknot is closer to those two bands, but not the same, than they are to say... hate breed. And I definitely don’t consider them popish.
I love 80s heavy, not much hair, but predominantly heavy metal. I love modern American metal, I love a lot of black and doom metal. There are several things that are metal to me. A lot has to do with the melody, and power of the drums., and crunchy ness of the guitars, the feeling of the songs.
I guess I can see where your perspective is, I just think a lot of their more recent tracks sound more “metal” versus “hardcore” I might have said numetal in my original comment but I never really considered them that, much like I don’t consider mudvayne numetal. I think of numetal, I think of lorn, spineshank, papa roach, limp dickzet
Not gonna sit here and argue with anyone, just expressing what I like, and what the music strikes me as.
Loren Husky but hey, you do you, we all enjoy our own brands of “hate rock” no shit, I actually heard someone call metal that once
Great review guys! I am a big Iowa album fan, however this album just might be the comeback that we needed. Maybe? I surprisingly like this song, which is unusual because I normally hate songs with catchy choruses. 🤘🏼
I love your reactions guys 🖤🤘🏻
The first comment I've made on anything Slipknot in over 3-4yrs. Anyways, One thing said in this video that I have an opinion on is the sound of the album and how it was originally stated it'd be IOWA sounding. First off, how much Iowa was made public back in the day? How big were they back then? Any maggot will know that self-titled and Iowa were albums you had to listen to if you wanted to actually hear them. Slipknot has since then made more mainstream music, like this song, which are made to be able to be played on broadcasting networks across the board. With that in mind, we shouldn't worry about what they said. Since then they've even retracted and said a mix of a few albums. I have a feeling this song and whatever single may come out next, if there is one before the album, will most likely be the last song off the album to get a none edited release MV or radio play song. The rest will be what most of us want. With that said, I even like this and pretty much everything they've ever made. I've seen the Knot 6 times from 2003-2007. Since then, Ive been on the other side of the world, but would at the drop of the hat go see them again any chance I got. They're the real deal and have evolved while keeping their roots. I know we could get into the stuff with Chris right now or a bunch of other stuff, but that's not what I'm focused on. I just keep reading about how this song isn't good and it's not Iowa. We will never have another Iowa. However, I feel we are about to get a gift that'll make us all happy, whether true weathered fans from the start, fans that joined last album or the one before that, or for fans just joining the pit. Maggots rule!
~Peace
i like to judge a slipknot song based on how well i can workout to it. the break in this song has seen many many a heavy lift already so i’d say it’s pretty damn good
Paul Derrick if that ain’t the truth!
Great song. Have loved it since day one.
*This is a catchy song they put out for the radio, it can still be Iowa vibe in the album with the exception of a couple singles.*
If your a fan of slipknot you should not be complaining about there music these days there still making music for us so respect them
You're*, their*, they're*
Could you repeat that in English please?
Sounds very melodic, still brutal, love it. It gets better every listen. August is gonnna be fire 🔥
Love all your guys reactions and across multiple genres. Good stuff 👏🏾
once again the boys from Iowa produce a great heavy song. Good Shit Always from Slipknot, and I like Joey more than Jay, but both are great. Love Slipknot
Going to be the hardest album since Iowa
I really enjoyed this song I did enjoy all out life and I am excited for there album coming out August 9th also wwe uses all out life for one of their show intros which is awesome great reaction as always guys keep up the awesome work 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I heard earlier today that clown’s youngest daughter passed away on May 18th. R.I.P
You know how?
All out life will grow on you, I didn't care for it at first it was heavy but it felt like it was missing something and after a few listen now I really enjoy it.
same
I felt this way as well
Same exact feeling
Impact Video I liked it the first time I listened to it .
Corey’s mask looks like he had an allergic reaction to some peanut butter and his face started swelling up
Terrible mask.I
Fr0st 9 it’s a great mask wdym. It could be way worse
My ad was literally just the music video you guys are reacting too omg perfect
I agree that "Unsainted" is better than "All Out LIfe"
I really liked this song. Reminds me of the Iowa days. Sounds great to me.
Lorin S Sounds more like the AHIG era.
@@andrewhassell9891 Agreed.
Loren Husky The chord progression in the chorus sounds a lot like Sulfur.
the chorus melody is basically the same as their song sulfur
Yes, first time I heard it I had the volume low and thought it was Sulfur at first, then the second time, I was like why are they playing Rolling Stones on Octane, wait, is this Sulfur? Oh, it's the "new" Slipknot. It's good, though, can't complain.
It's the "Ohhh" in the beginning of the chorus
Sulfur has a more similar chorus to duality than this song
Been waiting for this!! Long live the Knot
Love your reaction guys!
6:22 best reaction ever
Yep im not a musician myself so i cant nit pick but i love this tune .... mind ya i love slipknot so i have an appreciation for all their music.
Most proper reaction for Unsainted in all of UA-cam
It took me a few attempts to get into this song but it grew on me quickly
Not gonna lie the first 30 sec of the music video made me so confused and I love it
I hope this song is Bray Wyatt’s new theme
Lmao at the people judging what the new album is gonna be like based on one song. I love this song I reckon the new album is gonna be fucking awesome.
Yup it will b
OR, as has happened in the past with many bands, this is the only 'good' (subjective) song on the album.
Slipknot is my Absolute Favorite Band and you guys are my Favorite UA-cam Channel now.
i love how unsettling corey’s mask is
it's actually cool not unsettling
@@kyfallen1907 for me i find it cool because i find it unsettling, if that makes sense
I’m pretty sure that’s what he said in a interview he wanted it to be unsettling
All out life was great.
Nice reaction and analysis on this video guys. ✌
Everyone's talking about how Slipknot is not the same people need to realize you have to evolve.
You know what the chorus reminds me?: "It´s gonna be the best day of my li i ife..oh oh oh oh"
Slipknot are back🔥🔥🔥🔥
So excited for the coming album 🔥🔥 greetings from Costa Rica 🤘🏼
I've grown with slipknot since I was in junior high school, I love all of them, theyre motivated me to learn music honestly, idk if somebody got a bad view for them its break my heart haha feels like somebody mocking my teacher, anyway I always respect everyone's prespective, thanks for reactin to my teacher's band pals :) cheerzzz
All out life is an awesome record and i think it should be on the new album purely because i would like it on CD and not just a digital download.
Holy hell. Goat said something good about Slipknot. I've waited years for this day lol. I'll agree I don't hear the heaviness of Iowa yet, but the darkness is there though.
"this is gonna be the best day of my liiiiife my lah ah ah ah iiiiife" that's all I hear in this chorus
whats that supposed to be pop? havnt heard those lyrics
@@bowzerk2714 it's on every commercial ever made. I dunno who sings it.

Shut up
Newcomer to your channel........but already LOVE you guys!
GX@T AND $KYLAR are the type of guys i would proudly hangout wit n react to music videos cuz they do a really good job at reacting to different things
I disagree with you guys about ALL OUT LIFE ... or maybe wait a second ... Lets say, I'm STARTING to disagree. ALL OUT LIFE when I first SAW it didn't do much for me, then I HEARD it again for the first time without being annoyed by the video. And then I listened again and it almost seemed like a completely different song with my eyes closed and the headphones submerging me in what became my own interpretation of the tune !!! WAY BETTER !!! This tune UNSAINTED started out a little odd and the same issue with the video distracted me from really getting the song. Again ... the song, stand alone, inside my own twisted little movie becomes another beast all together and very much more appetizing.
yawn sleep @ “with my eyes closed”
I agree. Maggot since 1999 and it honestly took time and coming around to AOL. I was very underwhelmed at first but it grew on me. I've heard this song 1-2 dozen times now and the jury's still out. And for people bringing up "Iowa levels of heavy", this is the first single that they performed on Jimmy Kimmel. Its NOT gonna be the heaviest darkest thing. Its gonna be catchy. I cant wait to hear the whole album. Corey recently said, "“It is really dark, the music falls in between Iowa and Vol. 3. It is experimental, but heavy as hell. It’s aggressive, but has tons of melodies. I think people are really going to dig it."- Coret Taylor.
Same here. With AOL I couldn’t focus on the song b/c of the music video but when it just the song I was able to really get into it and really enjoyed the song. The same thing happened with Unsainted. Half way through the video I stopped and then switched to just the song in my phone and found it to be so much better.
This maybe be their song that makes radio. I’m hoping the rest is Iowa heavy. I’m not sure his voice can hold up under that type of heavy anymore.
Matt D I heard this song is the softest but I only heard haha no promises
@@maggotsxcl7403 heard the same.

The outfits grow on you rather quickly. I like them a lot. There's a lot of trash can in the background under layers. And some of the deeper guttural screams sound like Iowa. Almost reminds me of left behind/my plague
@Kenneth Watson reminds me of a couple songs tbh. The chorus reminds me of inhale by stone sour lol.
