    This is one of the few 1p tents that is really a 1.5p tent which I wish were more common. I hate leaving my pack outside so I want a bit of extra room to fit it inside without having to carry a 2p tent.
    I wish naturehike would add a guy loop halfway up the fly on the sides, along with a matching inner tent clip (like how they do it at the bottom) so that you can pull the walls out a bit and open up the space inside.
    They already have the extra guy loop on the 2p version fly, just do that but add the inner wall clip as well.

      You’re so right about it being a 1.5 tent. There’s a lot of room in there. Much more than my new Big Agnes tent. 🤙🏼

    Oh and I forgot to mention, it only has one vent! ALL tents need at least 2 vents, to provide air FLOW. It needs one towards the back as welll, otherwise the air comes in at the front and has nowhere to flow out.
    It's good quality but a very poor design

    Hi, thanks for the video :)
    I have 2 questions, please, in relation to the Cloud 1 person tent:
    1. Does the rainfly touch the (inner)tent, or is there space between them?
    2. Are the stake out points adjustable or non-adjustable?
    Thanks

    I'm sorry, but I'm totally disappointed in the cloud up tent I bought. It is the 2 person 210t version.
    It is just way too small. I can imagine how small the 1 man version is. The door is almost impossible to get in and out of. I'm only 5'7" too. For a large person...good luck.
    Also with the fly off, its actually kinda nice, except you can't see through the mesh very well. It's more like a plastic than a screen. And when you have the rainfly on, it's really hot inside. The set up is easy,, the pegs are nice, and the poles are good quality, but I don't think I will be using this tent too much. I think I rather carry a few extra pounds for a better tent.
    Only my opinion!

    • @ItsLaterThanYouThink
      @ItsLaterThanYouThink  3 роки тому +1

      Interesting read there for discussion. I’m sure the 2 person one is 4 season isn’t it? Maybe that’s why it’s super hot! My 1 man version seems fine. I’m 6ft and I have a foot clearance for my feet and plenty of room for the backpack which I have to my side. In Blighty it’s never warm enough just to have the mesh layer so I’ve not experienced the stargazing element. Sorry you’ve had a bad time with it Borg! This tent is my beach tent.

    • @borg386
      @borg386 3 роки тому +1

      @@ItsLaterThanYouThink maybe it is 4 season( not sure). The space inside is pretty good. It's mostly just the tiny door, that's annoyingly small.

      Hi Fernando! I was thinking of getting some sand pegs from Amazon but I decided to give it a chance without them. The default pegs worked but only just. So I put large pebbles on each peg. The freestanding structure did help also. So all good 👍

    Hi Paul, very good review, nice to see someone who can do a review without coming across as a self styled expert, good stuff :-)
    I was considering the Cloud Up 1 for kayak touring due to it being freestanding. A couple of quick questions if you have the time
    1. The flysheet seems to sit quite high, have you found this to be an issue?
    2. Have you tried pitching the footprint and flysheet before attaching the inner (is this even possible)?
    Just wondering as it might prove useful if needing to pitch in the rain although it does go up pretty quickly in any case.
    Thanks again, Cheers.

    • @ItsLaterThanYouThink
      @ItsLaterThanYouThink  2 роки тому

      Hey Mac, thanks for your kind comments. Not found the fly sheet to sit too high at all and not a problem. I think you could put the fly sheet up in the rain but I think it would be major hassle to be honest. Just waking around London and typing this sat outside St Pauls 🤙🏼

    • @Flexaret
      @Flexaret 2 роки тому

      @@ItsLaterThanYouThink Hi Paul, thanks for the reply, yeah I watched another video showing pitching fly 1st, do-able but a bit of a faff. Good to know the highish flysheet isn't an issue. The MSR Hubba originally came with a similarly high flysheet but they introduced the Hubba HP with a lower flysheet and more subdued colours for the UK/Europe. The Cloud-Up is essentially a Big Agnes Fly Creek at a very competitive price, definitely looks good.

    I don't know why everyone is raving about this tent. I just got one, the upgraded version and have just been out to put it up. Let me tell you, compared my helm 1 this is a huge faff to erect! There are too many buckles, at some points there are three tie out points using the same peg, the little clips that connect the inner groundsheet to the fly on the middle either side down the length of the tent are useless with the fly taut as they are too short and hold the groundsheet up in the air, not flat on the ground. The groundsheet is so flimsy, you're forced to use the footprint, which just adds to the time it takes to set up. (I really don't see why tent manufacturers are using such flimsy materials for groundsheets to save weight, only to then have to supply a separate footprint to protect it).
    The fly doesn't appear to cover the inner enough in some places. Far too many areas to tighten, the footprint, inner and fly in some areas on one peg!
    This tent isn't even particularly light to make up for these flaws, over 1.5 kilos all in, only 300 grams lighter than my Wild Country Helm 1, which is a doddle to erect and bombproof, no footprint needed! Another problem I see with these kind of tents is that the fly just drapes over the poles, I can see In time the clips that hold the inner to the poles rubbing through the flimsy sil nylon material. That's not a problem with tents that go up all in one with pole sleeves.
    Crap really

      Helm also includes ground sheet that you need to buy separately, adding another 200g or more from the weight you mentioned. I'm actually torn between this and the helm 1. Looking for a side by side comparison between the two.

    • @silaswild6233
      @silaswild6233 2 роки тому +1

      @@mjojrjr6231 I'd say the Helm is a better tent, more robust, better in strong winds, easier to erect, two side vestibules, side entrance, doesn't sag when wet. Okay it's 300grams heavier, and I'd say you don't need the extra footprint as the Helms groundsheet is more robust than the Naturehike, I've never used a footprint with the Helm and the groundsheet has never needed repairing. Thanks
