I have made roasted chickpeas and the Lupini beans should roast the same way: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drain and rinse the Lupini beans. Dry them thoroughly with a towel and place them in a bowl. Mix the oil and seasonings. Mix the seasonings and beans, coating them completely. Spread them evenly on a baking sheet covered with a silicone mat. Bake them for 45 minutes until golden and crispy. Stir them several times to keep them roasting evenly.
I didn't have everything for the chips so I used smoked cheddar, pickled jalapenos, bacon, and a tiny cube of cream cheese. They spread like crazy but I was able to fold them over like tacos. They were fab. I also made a few with pepperjack cheese/cheddar-- also really good.
@5:10 Finally had time to make "jalapeno poppers". So good (crispy which I have been missing)! Experimented... added a blob of cream cheese on top of some when they came out of oven. Added Primal Kitchen Yum Yum sauce on a few (after they cooled), plus ate some plain. Cream cheese and Yum Yum elevated it, creamy + crunch. Hubby already asked me to please make these again! Thank you Sarah and Emily. 🤩
You could definitely try smashing the lupini beans with the bottom of a glass, then air frying them. That would give more surface area for crispiness, and a more chip-like shape! I didn't even think to look for them as a product sold on their own, and not as flour. Thanks! I've been looking for a chip alternative-
Those jalapeno popper chips look amazing! I think I would have to add a little dollop of cream cheese on top of the cooled chip just to get the whole flavor profile. Yum! Thanks!
I loved your recipe for Boiled Egg Hummus. I took your advice and from the comments and I increased my spices. Cumin and garlic is the secret along with a whole lemon. ❤️❤️
my absolute favorite thing when I eat a popper is to take a bite of fresh ripe tomato with a bite of popper! The cool refreshing acid tomato complimentals the chessy dry heat of the popper SO well! Try it. I think You will thank me 🤩 A roma tomato is nice without all the juice but any will do 😍
I added a little square of cream cheese on top then topped with a little cheese. Used jarred jalapeños ( just dried them on paper towels) liked the cream cheese deed, need to bake a few min longer, thanks this is a great and easy snack, used the bacon, but really don’t need it I did top with tajin yum!
When I was a kid I had my first lupini beans. A Portuguese neighbour's mom made them for us kids to snack on. She showed me to squeeze them out of the rubbery outer shell. I have only eaten them the same way since then. LOL
I became ‘addicted’ to Tajin a couple of years Avos! Fav way to use: top a crispy cheese/egg Chaffle with 1/2 of avocado mashed, a squeeze of lime & a few shakes of Tajin! Low carb, hearty & SO delish!
Maybe if you have a basket to put the beans in for the air fryer so the air could get completely around the bean it would dry them faster to crunch them up.
I have a very LONG list of your recipes that I want to try - this has now been bumped immediately to THE top! This is RIGHT up our alley…. ‘Deconstructed jalepeno poppers’ and I have quite a few jalepenos growing in my garden! I think those dipped in guacamole, or sour cream, or salsa would be an AWESOME savory snack! I am going to get all of the ingredients this week so I can try this out this weekend! THANK YOU!
Looks yummy. I think I’d try cooking them @400 for 35-45 minutes. Keeping an eye on it. I’m definitely going to try those cups once I can have dairy again.
You could also use pickles instead of jalepenos, and if you're like me where you like spicy foods but just aren't into jalepenos nor peppers, you can add a bit of your fave spice instead. I love "chips" made from cheese and pickles, maybe one of these days i'll be motivated enough to cook bacon to add to it lol. A lot of times when I want a snack it's late night or I'm a bit weak and need something simple, so the extra step might be reserved for when I'm feeling up to it.
I was thinking pickle, too. Maybe with a sprinkle of ranch dressing seasoning/powder (homemade to limit carbs). Or a dab of saurkraut, instead of jalapeno, and some corned beef (or shredded dried beef) instead of bacon and serve with a keto russian dressing for reuben bites!
I would try drying out the beans then air-fry in the basket to get full air circulation. The oil may have prevented the beans from drying out before air-frying. Add the oil & seasoning after drying out. Sorry my comment is not fluid, I am dyslexic...lol! I love your video, and watch both your channels.😊
Well, to get them really crunchy you have to peal the lupini beans before air-fry them. Even if you decided not to peal them before airfrying them, then you've got to peal them later!
I use Tajin to make Strawberry and Blueberry popsicles. It add a nice salty limey kick to the sweet cold yumminess. I blend frozen blueberries or strawberries with Milk Kefir, allulose and Tajin. Then I drizzle Chamoy on the walls of the silicon popsicle mold and fill them with the fruit slurry and freeze.
I love Tajin! But my stores near me no longer bring it in- I have found that Mrs Dash Caribbean has that same zip that the Tajin is- but of course you have to add your own salt. Everything looks good... always in search of new snacks!
those popper chips look delicious...guess i better add these ingredients to my shopping list. especially the Tajin seasoning Thank you for put out these great videos. I.appreciate all you share ...❤❤
You guys always make me laugh…I’m mostly a carnivore but on weekends I like a good for you snack…that’s where you guys come in…so here I am 🤗 Blessings to you both 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻
Hey ladies! You are both looking fabulous, the last time I commented was after the video about your father which as I mentioned I could totally relate to. I know it takes some time to kind of feel better about it but you never do really but it becomes a little less painful. I hope you're doing well!❤
Hi I did garbanzo beans tossed in olive oil not a lot of oil and garlic tahin salt and pepper came out really crunchy in the regular oven ....Julianna NC
I love you both so much. I also love jalapeño poppers so making those and serving with some whipped cream cheese with some chives in it, yum! I have never seen lupini beans but would love to try that! I bet dehydrating them for an hour or so and then baking would be awesome. Sort of like corn nuts! BTW I noticed those jalapeño chips did not melt in to each other either! Thanks girls, just love you!
Those crisps look yummy although I’m not a jalapeño fan. I’ll have to try that Tajin ! Do those lupini beans taste like Lima beans? That’s what they remind me of. Thanks for another great video girls!❤
The lupini snack looks like the recipe is going for a Mexican treat made from fava beans, fried and sprinkled with chili powder and salt. Good snack with beer, lol. (but that would defeat the keto part).
You know, In my experience, the oven style air dryer just doesn’t do the crispy thing as well as the regular kind. I bet they’re better in the old school air fryer.
No advice on the lupini beans...but...I'm def wondering if I can make the poppers with banana pepper rings instead of jalapeno.. don't like jalapeno. (tastes like rotten oranges to me. Yes, I'm weird.)
maybe, maybe, maybe i will break down and finally make one of your recipes instead of just watching your vids on repeat as my own personal form of video prozac. 🤪

You need to pop them out of the outer shell! Then they will crisp up!

Glad you liked it! The cream cheese sounds like a great addition! We will try it next time ❤️

Have you had them crisped up or more like edamame?
@@luanneneill2877 I have only eaten them out of the jar. I have never had edamame so I don't know the comparison there.
@@beccasmama63I have a jar from Portugal and don't know a QUICK way to un shell them. ONLY one by one squeezes 😅😮
@@la1930 I bite the edge and then squeeze them out. It's easier that way.
@@beccasmama63 thx I used my thumb and now it hurts today under my nail whahhh. They didn't crisp just chewy-ish. Will not make again.
No worries on storing those chips they'll be gone in one sitting. They look delicious.

I’d let the beans dry out overnight
I would pat them dry first before putting them in the air fryer basket. . . should crisp them up faster.

Agree. Try adding the oil and seasoning after.
Took your advice from a past video - I LOVE Tajin and spreading the word.
I tried it, too! AIdi has it! stiII experimenting but so far so good.
Here in California we rim our margarita glasses with Tajin instead of salt. 🍹
How spicy is it?
Those jalapeno popper chips are definitely coming to my house soon with cream cheese added in, in some way 🤤!!! Thanks girls 😘
I can't do spicy but may try a little tomato on the cheese crisps. They look really good. Thanks for bringing more good ideas to us.
I'm the same, good idea x
Well, to get them really crunchy you have to peal the lupini beans before air-fry them. Even if you decided not to peal them before airfrying them, then you've got to peal them later!
Could those beans be either shallow fried or deep fried & then shake them in a baggy of seasoning? Have a glorious day🎉
Love the recipes! The bean snack reminds me of corn nuts with Tajin!
I am definitely trying these...I am using sourcream on the jalapeño poppers as a dip! Thanks so much for these recipes.

Those popper chips look like exactly the snack I need to take to the big family party on the 4th! Thanks
I watched on Mythical Kitchen one of their Mythmunchers episodes, they determined it is the ribs in peppers that are the heat.
I am going to try the parm, cheddar one. Looks like little pizzas! ❤

I use a mini muffin tin
I make hummus with lupini beans. Can't tell the difference from hummus made with chick peas.
Freeze the jalapeño then grate it with a stick grater over the cheese. Voila jalapeño flakes no chunky pepper but adds flavor.
Poppers look so good. TY.
That looks very good. ❤❤❤

Lima beans have stronger flavor, to me at least.

Going to make the cheese jalapeño snack.
good stuff
Great snacks. I will try them for sure, but what brand of lupini beans are not bitter? Link?
I would take off the outer layer of the lupini beans.
The heat of peppers is not in the seeds, it's in the ribs.
love this thanks girls❤❤❤❤❤

Tajin is the best!
The beans might be better if mashed and made into refried beans, especially with the “nachos” you just made …..

I saw a guy using garbanzo beans instead of Lupini beans and he cooked them for 45 minutes
Garbanzo beans are very high in carbs.
Yes, I have done same.
For me the lupini pasta was way too pasty.Couldn't get it off my teeth. Not very pleasant, but thats jmo
