    Happy Thursday!
I truly don't comment often, and I think this is my second comment on any of your content (which I freaking love btw). I just wanted to say your testing and experimenting has aided in me dropping from ~350 to now being at ~190. You both make me laugh, and honestly, you deserved to be at 250K subs by now! Please don't stop! You both take the "strictness" out of "dieting", and you both rock! I love to watch your videos while walking/running on the treadmill, and you honestly make it feel less like work, and more like a treat!

You can also just buy chicken, beef, etc when it's on sale for cheap; place it into a blender with spices of choice, blend into mush, roll between 2 pieces of parchment paper until it's virtually transparent then bake in oven on the parchment paper & cookie sheet at like 275° until crispy...
Look up the videos for Chicken chips on UA-cam. They're very good, but just be sure to roll until very, very thin & see through, otherwise your chips will be hard. They'll still taste great, but you'll have to work at eating them.

As someone who is guilty of mindless eating, espcially while watching TV, I would be interested in the volume eating foods you mentioned. I tend to beat myself up when I eat and don't feel hungry. Thanks for all you do!

    • @murdermittensnyc

Not a doc, dont even play one on tv but watched my cousin go through dieting phases over the past almost 30yrs. Gelatin with a flavor you can enjoy but with no “dietary violations” is the go to for volume eating.
That said, totally anecdotally, the volume approach doesnt change the behavior (eating while watching movie). She lost some weight on the volume approach but it piled back on when she ditched the gelatin for something low cal (i dont remember what) but more satisfying. She didnt change the habit.
If you need a bridge from mindless snacking to not, maybe extreme gelatin for a few weeks, but break the mindless snacking habit for long term success. You’re putting in so much hard work. You deserve to be your best you. ❤❤

They are too mushy! It is very easy to make refrigerator pickles so bread and butter pickles are usually found in my fridge. Some parts of the year I make them with the mini cukes at the grocery and other times I make them with real picking cukes (like kirby) from farmers' markets. Salt, vinegar, turmeric or curry powder, mustard seed, celery seed, and sweetener.

Store-bought beef jerky is often high-carb. You REALLY have to look at the package. They like to add sugar. Your idea of doing an episode on making jerky is great. There are different styles of jerky you could explore. And different meats.

    • @aaronbailey9454

Which one? Even the teriyaki flavored ones are only 1 carb. When making beef jerky, every flavor you use is highly concentrated during dehydration so you only need a tiny bit of sugar to make it sweeter.

Publix sells the Bread and Butter Pickles sweetened with Stevia and they are delicious. Also the Relish sweetened with Stevia is fantastic. My Publix grocery store is the only store in my area that sells them. Have you ladies discovered Protein Pudding? I also blend my Cottage Cheese in the Food Processor and then I add a small 3oz box of Sugar Free Instant Pudding. It tastes just like Cheese Cake, but it has Protein. For a topping I chop up Strawberries and add some Monk Fruit to it. The Strawberries are great for a topping for the Cheese Cake.

One lo carb/keto snack I have sometimes is ill take the hot spicy pork rinds or the BBQ ones and dip them into sour cream. The hot ones especially are good with the sour cream. It cools down the heat nicely. These are good to have if someone else is eating potato chips or something high carb and you want a lo carb alternative.

Loved this video ladies!! One thing I accidentally made and still enjoy is dried cranberry leather (?). I’m quite sure not everyone will be interested but I think it’s delish! It was an accident bc I was making cranberry jelly (lowest carb I think?) and had all the skins left over after straining, and wanted to make “craisins” for a garnish but they were so good I ate them up for snacks and have been doing that since. Once I have strained all the liquid for the jelly I laid out all the skins on baking paper and used my air fryer’s dehydrating button and bada boom bada bing. The only thing is I learned the hard way to use allulose and NOT Swerve for the sweetener bc you have to boil the cranberries. But yeppers, terrific snacking and garnish!

My favorite snack is in shelled unsalted roasted peanuts. I love anything peanuts, but something about having to peel the peanuts makes my hunter/gatherer brain happy and occupied. I also like in shell sunflower seeds for similar reasons. Plus it takes more time to peel them and then eat them making it harder to overeat. They come in some pretty good flavors too like ranch, buffalo sauce, pickle flavored, and Takies.

Y’all ladies might want to try sola bread it’s a low carb- one net that gram you toast it up and then you break it up. I use it just like regular breading. Just use have to chop it up for yourself. Chop it up put it on your choice of meat for veal or chicken parm. I have also breaded chicken nuggets like regular/nonketo- it’s pretty cool!

According to the carb addiction doc on YT, excess protein also gets stored as sugar because there is no storage for protein. You can get blood work done to find out what your protein cap is.

Most of the time when I want a snack, I want something where I can just open a container and eat. As if it were chips, crackers, etc. Too many of the "snacks" I've seen take a bunch of preparation, and not always in advance. I can't always do that, I need to get something to curb hunger and get back to what I was doing.
One problem I've had with store-bought "keto-friendly" snacks are the complete lack of focus that the companies have on what is "keto". A snack with 45 grams of carb per serving is just NOT keto, no matter how you look at it... but I see it all the time at Costco etc when searching for something to snack.

Love your videos - so informative and inspiring... You mentioned in this video eating in moderation. I think that is one of the pitfalls for me when I was previously on keto and did not lose more than 35 pounds in 3 years. I know now that I have to be very vigilant in what I am eating per meal. My question to you is - on keto are you supposed to count calories??

I tend to bake them. I’ll take a teaspoon of Parmesan cheese, add Italian seasoning, and a slice of pepperoni. Line them up on a silicone mat and bake them, taste just like pizza chips! Really satisfies that craving. Yum 😋

Just had to add this here, hope you will see it. POTATO SALAD and MAC SALAD craving solution: replace potato with cubes of zucchini AND replace pasta / mac with palmini or zucchini noodles cut short. Is it the same? well no... but does it work to settle the craving? Absolutely!

Great ideas! I’m gonna try some of these. I’m more of a grazer than a three mil a day person or two mil a day person. That’s gonna take some time to break. I also have been working on the intermittent vesting. Every morning my husband wants to make breakfast and he keeps asking are you hungry? Do you want to eat or even in the evening do you want to eat? Are you hungry and I’m like no thank youy’all have a wonderful day. Blessings.
