They're all raised in farms, and farm raised salmon is just as good." I try to be open to new perspectives, so I went home and looked it up out of curiosity. And guess what, wouldn't you know I found the complete opposite. Not only is wild caught not a "myth", but it's significantly better than farm raised salmon in taste and nutritional content. Exactly.
Don't listen to the guy. Hes spitting BS. He's talking about American farmed salmon. Saudi, Norwegian and other farmed salmons are great and completely sustainable given that they follow the guidelines and regulations in place.
Can’t beat a grill fired Costco salmon! If they eat poop to make it keep it coming
From my understanding, farm raised salmon, from Norway, is more acceptable because of their practices. I buy it at Trader Joe’s its delicious.
I agree!
It’s very toxic from what I’ve seen.
ua-cam.com/video/RYYf8cLUV5E/v-deo.html
Farm raised from Norway is the worst. The fish live in an Aqua Culture. Workers go out in a NASA suit and spray pesticide all over the top of the water.
I have heard that the salmon from Norway is much despised in Europe for being contaminated
@@leannedale6357 yes i've heard the same thing. Norway is a bad place to get salmon and they're a huge producer of it
I worked for someone who went salmon fishing in Alaska every year… After consuming so much of that amazing wild-caught fish, I pretty much never buy salmon from the store and only eat it when I get some from my old friend.
Wise person you are!
I wish I had a friend like that, but I live in lower Michigan so we have different fish, but wild caught is wild caught. My mother told me long ago to never buy farm raised.
wild or farmed fish, it's all ripe of parasites and chemicals
We go crazy when we listen to every do's and don'ts we hear all over media...we are just happy we have food to eat on the table....peace!

Very Informative. Thank You Bobby.
We won't eat farm raised fish of any kind. You are 100% right! I hope everyone who sees this listens.
He said 99% of farm raised fish is bad, so how could that be?
Lol no, eating that is just fine
It's not as good as fresh but it beats the alternative. Not optimal, but not bad either.
Where do you eat sushi? :)
The problem with non-farmed or wild fish is that it often comes with parasites, worms being the most visible if not buried too deep in the flesh.. So do you like your salmon with antibiotics or do you prefer it with worms?
FMD this guys dad was probably one of the Greenpeace protesters telling us to start eating farm raised salmon because fishing the oceans isn’t sustainable 🤦♂️
Absolutely true. But unfortunately majority of the people don't know about it. And almost everything including air, water, fruits, vegetables, and even our supplements and medications are contaminated with all kinds of toxins. It's almost impossible to stay healthy no matter how hard we try.
Gee it's almost like you're saying we're all going to die someday. 😂
Some of us know but its too espe sive to get the wild caught
I’ll eat air dw I’m good. Oh shit just realised that’s polluted too. 😂
Yep....exactly. We're screwed here in the good o USA
That’s IT! NO more farm raised for me Bobby!!

The sad part is even when you buy wild caught, organic, ethically raised, etc, for any product, you have no way to know if they are lying to you. You pay more, but you don't always get more. Everybody cheats. Look at Volkswagen, as just one example.
What's the issue with Vw?

He’s not a jerk about it either. I’d love to see “Bobby Better” options in his app. My wife and I use it all the time. Great learning tool.
it is because he is just saying buy the more expensive product. He doesn't cite anything ever and he tries to sell you on his overpriced supplements on his website. He has a business degree, not a medical degree.

In Nova Scotia a salmon farm I worked. We fed all fish medicated food (antibiotics)
And on the processing boat we spooned out the livers that were full of white spots. And processed the fish as is. The workers said this ain’t right and management said the fish will probably be used for dog food. Yeah right. I quit in 2010 😳

Wild salmon is pink!
I've seen bears and people catch salmon in Alaska and you cam see the colour of the salmon and it is naturally pink.
It's astaxanthin that they get from the crustacians they eat. Farmed Salmon are therefore fed astaxanthin. It's a strong antioxidant that's actually good for the Salmon, and probably for humans as well. You can buy astaxanthin pills as supplement.
Wait until you find a 20 cm parasite in wild caught salmon

Good info but it’s damn near impossible to find wild caught salmon at the big name grocery stores.

I was working at a new restaurant one time and the owner's wife (who called herself the "coowner" despite her not being a partner in the business) went off on a random tangent one day and told me that "Wild caught salmon is a myth, there's no such thing as wild caught and it's just more expensive for no reason. They're all raised in farms, and farm raised salmon is just as good."
I try to be open to new perspectives, so I went home and looked it up out of curiosity. And guess what, wouldn't you know I found the complete opposite. Not only is wild caught not a "myth", but it's significantly better than farm raised salmon in taste and nutritional content. She was likely just trying to justify why they buy farm raised salmon in bulk and sell it at $30-$40 per plate.
Kinda gross looking back on it now. Working in that restaurant just made me want to cook my own food at home even more.
