Awesome comparison video! Looking for a new camping stove so many options. Was hoping to use this for truck camping. Size no matter just looking for decent stove for foods.
you really cant go wrong with any of the camp chef options. I still haver the teton 2x I have to test, so keep an eye out for that. Thanks for watching, hopefully you find the right stove !
My Everest 2 has a single metal clip instead of the plastic pair like yours does. If you plan on using with a tank they have a mountain series hose with a built in regulator at the tank end that lets you bipass the 1lb regulator. Proprietary chit, though. The 2 fits nicely in its case and I made wooden spacers to protect knobs. Weakest part on stove is the regulator.
Would buy additional regulator or the addirtional hose for larger tanks and bring both so you aren’t stuck as you would just need both tanks. The older 2 I have is just as beefy as the 2X and actually less metal. Look for an older 2 with the metal clip.
Great comparison video, and very helpful to me, as I'm considering both. Are you able to tell me if there is any difference between the two stoves in terms of the distance between the two burners? That would make a big difference in my decision. Thanks.

You have it right. I find both these camp chef stoves to have really good LOW flame control, which you'd want for simmering, or cooking with an Omnia Oven (where low and slow is the rule). On high, both are pumping out 20k BTU per side, which is pretty significant. The '2' may now be upgraded to 25k BTU per side. Either way, the control is better than pretty much everything else out there (ala coleman stoves). Thanks for watching Coach! (hoping you subscribed).

The 2x has a turn knob ignition vs the 2 push button ignition. The 2x is visually more appealing to me. I know that’s a personal kind of thing though. Great comparison of the 2 without any biases really. I just purchased the 2x from Backcountry. It was $155 plus a 15% new customer discount making it just under $132. That only lasted a few days though. It’s out of stock at the moment. I haven’t taken mine out of the box just yet. But this video definitely has me anxious to give it a test run.
ahhh. good distinction I did not make on the ignition, good catch. I also like the 2X a smidge better, but the wife tells me we're keeping it at home until the 2 is too ratty for filming, lol. Thanks for watching, much appreciated...enjoy your steal of a deal 2x !
Somewhat a moot point now as Camp Chef no longer has the Everest 2 on their website in lieu of the Everest 2X. I have the older stove and love it aside from the grate warping slightly. I also own an older Camp Chef stove no longer in production of a briefcase design with detachable legs. It has 2 25K BTU burners and is still working fine. It looks an awful like the new 2X model in it's wind screens and clips.
I suspect the 'teton 2x' is the replacement for the '2'. who knows. im just happy they make quality products. Eventually, all video content for product reviews will be outdated.
@@LittleHouseofBeans Yeah, but not usually 13 months later. Most of my Camp Chef products are no longer in production. They're still holding up, with the exception of an occasional regulator which they outsource.
@@LittleHouseofBeans I looked it up after watching this video and the Teton 2X has all the modern learnings of the Everest 2X (metal latches, the new wind screens that lock into place with the metal latches, the recessed design so that the knobs aren't poking out like the Everest 2), except the burners run at 10,000 BTU max per burner while the Everest 2 and Everest 2X burners can run at 20,000 BTU Max per burner. Also, thank you for posting this review! I went with the Everest 2 because it was hovering around $70 Like New on Amazon.
Basically the same stove and those clips on the original stove are bomber durable.... Making the original a much better value at half the price. The 2x is not a better stove and the polygonal shape does nothing to protect the knobs.... If you want better, you will need to step up to the Camp Chef Mountaineer

Thanks for watching, much appreciated...enjoy your steal of a deal 2x !
the wind screens fold down out of the way on the 2 vs the 2x doesn't so you technically can get a bigger pan/pot on it
that is true. the 2X, the wind blockers fold into the cover, so the same applies. Happy camping Seymour, and thanks for watching!
The newer model the Everest 2x. The hinges need a small bolt. Not the bullshit press river they have there. So. FYI. If you buy.
@@George-nx8zu good deal buddy....i picked up a second '2' for super cheap as well.
@@George-nx8zu I have a teton 2x coming today....keep an eye out for the next comparison vid!
X2 will cost me at 350 usd in Saudi Arabia
that is very expensive.
Basically the same stove and those clips on the original stove are bomber durable.... Making the original a much better value at half the price. The 2x is not a better stove and the polygonal shape does nothing to protect the knobs.... If you want better, you will need to step up to the Camp Chef Mountaineer
Appreciate you watching and the comments. We love both stoves
@@LittleHouseofBeans thanks...fyi... Bass pro shops has the perfect padded carry case for 19 bucks !.... Fits most Camp Chef mountain series... I don't know though about the Mountaineer. I can't wait to lay my hands on the Camp Chef Mountaineer , a friend of mine has one and it's absolutely perfect !
They probably have the same burners.
Hi there is _$28 x is deader
Everest 2X was recalled. Gas leak.
you mean the regulator replacement, not the stove itself. Ours is a new 2X, so not part of regulator recall, but for those reading - here is the letter you may or may not have received for older 2X models, they will replace your regulator for free - www.campchef.com/media/wysiwyg/recall/1020_MS_Recall_Letter.pdf
@@LittleHouseofBeans oh I haven't heard of that. Lots of channels said gas leak 🤔🤷 TY for info.
@@goodolgoldy1976 and that's why you cant believe everything you hear, lol. I did the research, so I'm glad you mentioned it. I should have when I did the video. Technically, it IS a gas leak....just not with the stove itself.
😎
Failed to do a side by side comparison of 2 each 12' cast iron pans on either stove.
We will strive to do better Peter. Our sincere apologies. We should also point out we failed in not conducting a side by side comparison of two Coleman camp ovens, two 16 inch dutch ovens, two 14 inch chili pots, two cast iron griddles plates, two 12 inch woks, two propane toasting apparatuses, two 3 quart sauciers, two 14x11 roasting pans, and two 5 quart braisers. Failure all around. Zero value.........Useless video !
@@LittleHouseofBeans I mean, I think that's a little far. However, there are a lot of people who wonder what will actually fit on the grate, so having two 10in and 12in pans just to demo how they do or don't fit together would be helpful. I'm going with the mountainer 2X largely because I'm sure my pans will fit but I'm still not sure which ones together. Probably a 10" and 12" but I'll have to wait and see 😁
