Loved the format of this video, some hilarious moments in this one
Tim’s a lovable guy 💔
shot's at 12:57 and a clear double hit for those that ate the bait
APA rule for double hit when QB hits cue tipa second time on stroke. Generally occurs when 2 balls in close proximity but not frozen. Rules say jacking up at 30 degrees will help avoid double hit but is not a GUARANTEE that you will avoid the foul. Therefore should have a watcher.
Agreed!! Should have had a watch!
Also I like watching entire match even if a little slow because you can see how you might shoot to open up balls, including carols.
I think so too, myself… thanks for the feedback!!
LOL ... "All right . There's NO WAY Ron misses a straight in eight ball !" (famous last words .)
Dude For Real….!!
Like you said, automatic ball in hand, no discussion. Always
In a higher skill match, when the game is won in playing errors, and a single error can cost you the match…. I personally hate to see it be from a silly error like that. And I will usually let them shoot again.
Here to have fun, no money on the line…. Unless its a tourney or in Vegas! Just my own perspective.
He also hits the cueball accidentally for the second time at 28:40
Nice video 👍
Glad you dig it 😎 Ive been tweaking things with each new video, check out the newer ones sometime! Cheers!
Double hit without a doubt.
I'm not convinced it was a double hit. The cue ball did not follow the trajectory of the object ball and veered to right. Also the spacing between the two balls was sufficient to avoid the double hit. If space is a chalk width or less then double hit is on unless you Jack up.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks! Glad someone’s enjoying it 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Yes. Yes, it was. Unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do about it. If someone doesn't know the rule, they don't know it was a double-hit. If there was no one watching, and it's doubtful that you would even think you would need a ref in that situation. Just part of the game. Some people get away with fouls. Thankfully, most people are ignorant (that is, they're not intentionally fouling). But it does happen.
That’s exactly my view these days. Unfortunately, this is the sort of stuff that pushes experienced players to BCA, and other higher level leagues!
Thanks for the feedback!!
Need to watch Dr. Dave’s video on double hits. I believe it’s all guessing.
Dr. Dave's Deep Dives Deliver on Double hits!! 🎱
Where was the Vacum on that shot, lol
…. Right 😭
In the first rack it looks like the 8 ball is in the wrong position...
😅😅😅………
these are high 3 SL maybe low 4 not a five in my area omg this is funny to watch
🤣 not their best match 😬😬
Check out Ron’s latest match on my channel vs someone who came from Snooker! He plays a lot better! Still makes errors, but playing at a higher level with a good stroke 🤌🏼🤌🏼
Tim's shot speed is the stuff of SL2 nightmares, I can't believe he's a 5. Also, the number of times he bumped one of Ron's balls was inexcusable for a 5. Actually, the way he played in general was terrible for a 5 and as a fellow 5 it's offending to share the same SL with him.
Kind of you for sharing your thoughts!
Not Tim’s (or Ron’s) best game. As far as Tim’s speed, I personally feel he plays much better on beat-up barboxes. If you are an APA 5, and bump into him in a dive bar, I probably wouldn’t play him for money 😅
Again, thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by and checking out my matches!!
No way a double hit, cue ball went to the right
The plot thickens!!!
Rules are rules you got to play by them otherwise what the f*** is the reason for rules.
“Mark it f***ing zero, Donny!!”
tim needs to work on his pocket hangers.
😨😨😨😨

Skeerrrrrrrrrrrrrribbit
THESE GUYS ARE SHOTING WAY TO HARD FOR THE SHOTS THEY ARE SHOOTING
I THINK I AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT
Definetly a double hit. Like your site but the sound of you drinking and your ice is super annoying
Good thing that was the only time I did that then… thanks for the feedback though Charles. I essentially have no idea what I’m doing with creating videos. Every one is an adventure….
Too close to have an argument on the double hit, and the acceleration of the cue ball after contact wasn't egregious. In those moments, if you didn't have someone prior to the shot, watch the hit, then it's always shooters call anyway so it's a non starter. So unless you are claiming that he plays shady to your viewers and wouldn't call himself out (because you can normally feel double hits from that distance), then you shouldn't dwell on that (or use it as a title)
Nah, Tim’s a good guy! Not blaming him per se at all. And I know it’s shooters call, which is why it’s really a non-issue.
Wasn’t trying to dwell on it too much, but if you ask me, seeing the replay makes it pretty obvious it was a double hit, but we can agree to disagree. Was just trying to point out that cue ball acceleration/reaction in those situations is really what you’re looking for when looking for a double-hit.
Plenty of times it’s disputed, the player is basing their judgment based off of “i didnt see the cue stick hit the cue ball twice”, which isn’t usually discernible without slow-mo, so I thought it was a decent example to show people.
As far as the title, since it could be seen as casting Tim in a poor light, you’re right, I should’ve picked something else. Just using it as an *interesting* point in the match to see, is all. That, and it took me entirely too long to make that slow-mo video because I’m a newb at this, and was all-too-proud of it maybe 😂
Thanks for the feedback and hope at least some of this match was entertaining for ya!!
@drewvonporte it was entertaining, and thank you for putting in time and effort. I'm just making sure as you learn and develop your new craft and all the UA-cam do's and dont's that you reflect on what messages you're sending out. You have the opportunity to strengthen pool and how it's seen as a whole.
Simple things like opinions on old guard/ new guard behavior can be polarizing. Ie. Whether or not you should take ball in hand or leave it in the position a foul occurred. I know In the 80s my father taught me all ball foul and held me to it. Even if I was negotiating a step stool to stand on to see above the table.
I've been playing all formats for quite some time and when I'm playing any given one, I play within that set of rules. May or may not choose to hold my opponent to them, as strict I do for myself.
Thank you for the kind comments and glad you enjoyed some of the show!
I surely am new to this, so I appreciate your feedback! Just love the game and hanging out yappin about it man, cheers
You should watch more close hits like this. I don't disagree that in APA you basically have to have a 3rd party to call that without the shooter admitting the foul outright, but it was clearly a double hit, and clearly egregious cue ball acceleration after contact
@AdamMarr I agree it's a double hit personally. I don't agree that it's enough of one to be able to call from the video we just watched.
I'm a 7, been through ref schooling, watched all the videos, filmed some myself. I've been surprised at some of the videos I thought were for sure a double but weren't, and vis versa
Sorry but I disagree. That was a push shot. Not to be confused with a (push out) done after a break. He pushed the cue stick right through that entire shot which is a foul. I could see nothing hitting twice, he just pushed all the way through it, but you can't do that. Of course maybe I just couldn't see the second hit, but I did enlarge the image and didn't see a second hit.
Pushing through causes the cue stick to hit the cue ball twice, is all. Yes you can not push directly through like that!
With that crappy camera and frame rate and distance away from the shot, you wouldn’t be able to see the exact moment they double-hit. Even with the naked eye, at a fast enough speed, you wouldn’t be able to. You have to judge it based on the cue ball reaction.
In a double-hit, or illegal hit, the cue ball takes off just as fast as the object ball when it’s a straight hit. Dr Dave has a great video on this!
Tim sucks 🙄
Great!
