Hope Dr Vaknin uploads the recovery from the NPD abuse part, too. I believe this is the most clear and detailed explanation of narcissism on UA-cam. All his videos are brilliant 👏
Love learning about this. I’m a registered psychotherapist in Toronto Canada and find your knowledge very accurate & useful for some of my clients. Thank you Sam 🙏🏾
Each time when i tried to get a narcissist to watch a video from Professor Sam channel, they seem to have very little interest. A normal person goes from decent interest to mind blowing interest. Attention to this topic became like a test. Always on point.
Thanks for watching My text line is divided into 3 sections; Plus….1(719),then 432, then 8048. I need to clarify things and also share some important detail with you. I'll be expecting your wa text.
This Sam…..to me is the best lecture out of aalllll the videos and lectures I’ve been listening to of you for the last 3 years..Thank you so much all the way from Kona, Hawaii🌺🌋……Jody
My spouse believes that if he sees us that we can see him. It doesn't matter if there is a door, wall, or curtain blocking our view. In therapy, he said that he comes in the house quietly and waits for us to acknowledge him. The therapist asked why he does that since it scares us. He said, "Well, I drive up to the yard and can see them through the window, so they should know I'm there." At night, you can't see out if our windows and I have curtains. Im also visually impaired. He can see when Im not wearing my glasses. I've gotten the silent treatment so many times for not responding to him, standing in a space too far away for me to see without glasses. He won't make a noise, just gets angry. I am so happy you mentioned the memory gaps! The internet contributes behaviors resulting from them as planned out and intentional behaviors. Occasionally they are intentional, however, the memory gaps seem to be one of his biggest motivations for communication deprivation with family members, what I perceive as lies, and lack of identity. Some of his biggest abusive behaviors! He has only a handful of stories from his entire life. Thank you for really digging into these topics and connecting the dots! It's so far out there that non-npd brains cannot understand it.
The incessant search for mother describes a family member so precisely its scary. In fact it's probably textbook. Attaches weirdly to all our deceased mothers actual friends, those that are still alive. It's obsessive in fact.
my son was diagnosed with oppositional defiance disorder when he was 18 and some anxiety issues... and then he was declined as a lone soldier from the Israeli army as a result of these doctors notes. not even a psychologist, just a general practitioner. He is now 22 and has grown into the most wonderful man and the whole diagnosis was total shit!!!
Sir, I've been listening 🎧 to you at EVERY OPPORTUNITY -- AND THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT for the last 6-7 months Would you speak to the situation of premature babies 🍼 left in the hospital for 6-8 weeks, without the mother being able to have contact or any touch whatsoever. -- The impacts upon both mother and child, along with any coping strategies. Additionally, in this case, the twin was stolen or deceased at 5 days, but with no prior known distress of twin and of strong APGAR scores. Thank you for what you do, Professor Vaknin. 🔥
Hello sir, Listening to your talk I feel that i live in a horrible society Yes More then 95 % of the population in my City are displaced people (abused).😢 Who is gonna fix whome...? Best regards 😮
I dont know if the professor reads these but there is no doubt my mother is one. Her stroke two years ago rendered her a changed human even in her “aura”. She was like a Buddha for a week or so. She didnt have an angry bone. She didnt complain about her hospital food or say a mean thing about anyone. I have never seen her this way. Her boss knew her 22 years and said, “ who was that woman in the hospital?” We laughed about it but it makes me realize now if at 72 years old a part of her brain was cut off, and she has never been kind in her life except to lovebomb her latest “love”, maybe there is a part of the brain that can make them better?
Question Prof. Vaknin. What are the key differences between a narcissist vs. someone with narcissistic traits? Do people with narcissistic traits also devalue and discard? Can people with narcissistic traits be healed. Thank you for all you do. You are appreciated beyond words.
Prof. Vaknin - can a person develop serious narcisistic personality disorder in a later stage of life, for example after 60 yrs old or so. Prior to that they had some narcisistic traits, however mild. I watched a lot of your lectures, did not come across any mention. Thank you for your answer.
Brilliant and concise. Thanks, Dr. Sam. Were there sections that were edited out or might be released in other episodes? There seemed a part that discussed the DSM and also the recovery from a narcissistic relationship weren't included?
Dr Sam, I recently left what I suspect is a narcissist but perhaps also a psychopath because he has very detailed fantasies (almost like a movie, full script) about killing people who have slighted him and others who have nothing to do with him (road rage, ex partners of his "friends" ex co workers), wants to see women and girls raped etc. This man verbalises these detailed ideas to others as well as in front of me and his children. Why? is this to frighten us, to make himself appear formidable? to me it is insane, demonic and just plain weird. Is he a closet homosexual?
Do people who would not classify as Narcissists (the people who only show narcissistic traits, aka "a-holes") also live within a shared fantasy and go through the idealization - discard cycle?
@@samvaknin If I feel like we lived through a shared fantasy, but I would rather attribute her to the "a-hole" type of person, would that mean that theres a good change I am a narcissist? Because the relationship very much resembled a shared fantasy. I know you cannot make a diagnosis. I'm just trying to explore this world.

Mind-blowing stuff.
I think this explanation of the false self in NPD is the best picture of the pathology of this personality type.
Outstanding, Dr. Vaknin, as usual. Thank you once again.
This is brilliant, thank you for sharing.

Search the Mind and the Comorbidities playlists.

Dear Mr. Vaknin, I would love to read your books in German Language.
Can people with this abnormality have mood v swings and behavior changes?
Yes. Search the Mind playlist.
Dear Sam! Would rather an NPD or a BPD man say about his exes, that they were all crazy and kept chasing him?
Both types regard themselves as victims. Watch the victimhood playlist.
