- Why is there a horse living at this outback pub? We stumbled upon Willie whilst visiting Kookynie, a living ghost town in the goldfields region of outback Western Australia. You'll also see some hidden water sources and Tour De Jaffel
We have a convoy of eight vehicles including a Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 van, 200 series landcruiser, Isuzu Dmax and Nissan GQ Patrol. This is outback australian adventure at it's best, and an overlanding journey on many peoples bucket list.

Over the course of a week you will see 7 videos exploring the Goldfields region of Western Australia. There will be ghost towns, gold mining, prospecting, bush camping and outback exploring all along the way.
Great video. I’ve been visiting Kookynie since I was a kid in the 70s. Nothing has changed except the road in is now bitumen.

We were there a couple of months ago. The horse didn't want to let me in the pub. I had to bribe it with a couple of biscuits...😜😜

It was absolutely packed and thriving for a Tuesday night! Must have been the unbeatable dinner special they had on. Sure worked for us!
