On a busy weekday night, Tracy Hatch is pouring beers and chatting to bar flies at her pub in outback Queensland.
Crammed with eccentric trinkets and Akubras - said to be from local ringers - the Wellshot Hotel is the bustling hub in Ilfracombe, about 1,000 kilometres north-west of Brisbane.
Weary tourists, long-haul drivers, and locals perch themselves at the watering hole on the side of the highway.
It's a unique meeting place where people with very different lives and experiences congregate - and Ms Hatch has a front-row ticket to it all.

The novelty will wear off fast, having been in the bar business myself for many years I found the few fun aspects of owning a bar are soon out-weighed by the negatives.
